Undead Mage from a Cell

Chapter 896: Chapter 894: New Skills Unleashed

”This is the chance—kill!”

Just like the intel Shaya had given beforehand showed, this unit didn’t march with their equipment on them.

The higher-level the unit, the more they enjoyed themselves while on the move.

Looking at the chaotic scene before him, Gu Xi pointed decisively toward the core position.

”Kill!”

Then Gu Xi himself didn’t stay idle either.

Flame Domain!

Flame Storm!

Two large Range Magic were cast at the same time.

Next, Gu Xi drew on his Mana and used the option he had chosen when he reached Level 9.

Because he had brute-forced his way to Level 8 with the Fire of Life, all the Skills available then were related to the Fire of Life; the Skill options that should have appeared at Level 8 only showed up at Level 9.

Among these Skills, three were Passive Skills, one was a large-range campaign Skill, and one was a strong Advanced Skills for an Undead Mage to Promote with.

Back then, because the battle situation was urgent, and Gu Xi really needed a powerful Skill that could target a Knight, it was inevitable that his choices carried a bit of bias.

When choosing Skills, Gu Xi picked two that showed immediate results.

[Gale Skill (Level 1): A destructive large-range Skill that can blow a strong gust of wind at a designated location. Enemies struck by the wind will take at least 1 point of damage.]

[Note: Gale Skill is a fundamental base for many Range Magic, and can be combined with a large number of Fire Element, Earth Element, and Water Element destructive Spells to form Fusion Magic. It is a relatively basic Spell.]

Gu Xi chose this Spell partly because of its large range; its coverage was almost the same as Death Ripple, basically a full-screen Attack.

On the other hand, this Spell was extremely basic, with many ways to manipulate it.

For example, Gu Xi could use this Gale Skill to simulate a Rapid Movement Skill, or directly push his Flame Storm and Flame Domain.

You could say Gale Skill was the kind of Skill you could play a lot of tricks with.

Using Gale Skill to Fusion Flame Domain and Flame Storm, expanding their power and range, was something Gu Xi had already successfully experimented with in the last instance.

In front of him now, this operation could increase the range of Flame Domain and Flame Storm by more than tenfold, boost their power by at least three times, and extend their duration by five times.

Most importantly, Bone Fragment wreathed in Flame would shoot up from underground, and the Flame Trap and Tentacles within the Flame Domain could also appear in midair.

This counted as an enhanced Fusion Magic even stronger than Brave Fight’s Magic Ceremony.

Most importantly, this kind of enhanced Fusion Magic was something Gu Xi had developed himself and didn’t count as a Skill.

In that instance, Gu Xi had originally wanted to burn down the Apple Tree.

Now, Gu Xi used this Magic to burn the grain and equipment stored within the enemy formation.

Gu Xi’s thinking was simple: these people weren’t wearing equipment, and their advance required supplies, so he’d wipe out all their logistics.

That way, no matter how high their Level was, their Combat Power wouldn’t amount to much.

Gu Xi’s choice was absolutely correct.

As this massive blaze spread, all the grain and equipment in the enemy formation were set alight.

The enemies, already in chaos, became even more disordered.

Through the raging fire, Gu Xi also saw what these enemies looked like.

These enemies were clearly Human soldiers who had undergone some sort of Mutated process and been turned into a regular army unit.

No wonder they advanced in such a manner.

Only now they were under the influence of this Mutation; if they’d been wearing equipment it would be better, but without it, each of them looked extremely bizarre.

Like those currently scrambling for equipment in the fire—their height and build were obviously shorter, their bodies stockier, their left arms thicker than their right, and on the back of their right hands grew Red eyes.

The equipment they were trying to grab were Sword and Shield; in fact, they also had a full set of Armor and such.

It was just that they had no time to put on their gear now—being able to snatch back their weapons was already impressive.

Their Sword and Shield were also different from normal weapons: the Longsword’s hilt looked like a sticky Tentacles, and on the front of the Shield was an eye that would blink on its own.

The same situation appeared on others as well: Lancers whose chins had turned into restricted Tentacles, Shooters whose two eyes had become six pairs of eyes, and so on.

You could say their current forms fully demonstrated the Human race’s boundless potential.

But this wasn’t what Gu Xi cared about.

After setting the blaze, Gu Xi began searching for targets within the enemy he could specifically strike.

Since the other side was a regular army, it was actually quite easy for Gu Xi to identify them.

At the core of this unit stood a fifteen-meter-tall flagpole, with a Battle Banner hanging from it.

The Battle Banner had a Black background, with a Red Lightning and a White eye painted on it.

This was the core Battle Banner of their unit.

Besides this Battle Banner, Gu Xi also saw three similar banners within this army.

The flagpoles of these banners were ten meters tall, all with Black backgrounds, Red Lightning, and White eyes, except the pupils of the eyes were marked with the numbers 1, 2, and 3.

It was obvious these belonged to the sub-units under this army, each led by a Hero already set in the formation.

Next were rows of raised flagpoles—the standard for ordinary Heroes. There were no Battle Banner on these poles, only eyes wreathed in Lightning.

Gu Xi counted quickly; there were at least seven of these ordinary Heroes.

Eleven Heroes in total, matching the intel Shaya had gathered.

Gu Xi already had a judgment in his Heart.

Next, he had to strike at the enemy’s most central point. He didn’t have many troops with him now; if he didn’t seize this chance to launch a strong assault, the upcoming battle would become very difficult.

So Gu Xi pointed at the enemy’s Main Battle Banner and unleashed an Attack.

This was when Gu Xi used the second Magic he’d obtained upon reaching Level 9.

[Internal Organ Explosion (Level 1): An Undead Mage Advanced Skills, requires Secondary Corpse Burst Level 4 or higher to select. Consumes 30 Mana to target part of an enemy’s internal organs; while the enemy is still alive, causes their internal organs to explode.]

This move was a rather vicious Skill.

It could be considered stepping outside the usual scope of an Undead Mage’s Corpse Burst.

He had taken a new path.

After all, no matter how strong Corpse Burst was, it still required a corpse to detonate.

Even Gu Xi’s Chain Corpse Burst was the same; without corpses, it would automatically stop.

But now this move could be used directly on living targets.

And it struck specifically at the enemy’s internal organs.

That meant, when necessary, Gu Xi could blow up an enemy’s Heart or brain.

If it came to that, even if a Dragon showed up, Gu Xi would still be able to blow the enemy apart.
