Undead Mage from a Cell

Chapter 881: Chapter 879: Hero of the Tree-man Path

As Gu Xi was speaking with Amirka, another group of trees collapsed bizarrely.

This batch was taken down by the Skeleton Shooters.

As this batch of trees fell, Gu Xi’s Undead underlings advanced further, decisively breaking through the tree creatures’ defenses as numerous forces rushed in.

With another large batch of tree creatures down, they could no longer form the previous forest-like defensive wall.

The Skeleton Soldiers under Gu Xi played a crucial role at this moment.

After rushing in, they directly chopped apart these tree creatures, isolating them one by one.

Around each tree creature, dozens of Skeleton Soldiers surrounded and continuously hacked at them.

Almost every second, a tree creature would fall.

In a short while, the original several hundred nearly thousand tree creatures dwindled down to thirty or forty.

Moreover, they were scattered in different locations.

There was no way for them to regroup.

Gu Xi saw their commander among the tree creatures by this time.

It was a tree creature, though it seemed different from the others.

This tree creature had gray-black skin, with many faces pressed together on the surface of the bark.

After rooting in the ground, it would occasionally swing its body, knocking away the Skeleton Soldiers rushing towards it.

At this time, Gu Xi raised his hand, and the Skeleton Shooter Bosses immediately understood the signal, focusing their fire on that tree creature.

Actually, Gu Xi didn’t really need to do this.

This tree creature was not particularly strong in defense or life force and didn’t follow any special Boss template.

Under a barrage of arrows, the tree creature was immediately knocked down to the ground, riddled with bone arrows.

Even so, it tried to roll on the ground.

However, this roll was its last chance.

After this tree creature fell, the remaining ones also all collapsed.

Some Skeleton Soldiers, who hadn’t hit anyone, even rushed forward, aiming for the distant mist.

Fortunately, Gu Xi called them back at that moment, or they would have charged forward endlessly until disappearing into the mist.

After calling his forces back, Gu Xi immediately ordered them to clear the battlefield.

Simultaneously, a batch of Necromancers recently summoned followed Gu Xi to perform Soul Summoning Skill on the corpses here.

Exactly as Gu Xi suspected, that distinct tree creature was indeed the hero of this group.

With a single Soul Summoning Skill, Gu Xi directly summoned a new hero.

The new hero retained a half-tree, half-human appearance, with at least seven or eight faces on its surface.

As it climbed from the ground, Gu Xi could see seven or eight tree roots resembling arms growing from the tree near the front.

Such a strange existence left Gu Xi puzzled; this wasn’t like an Undead Tree Pit.

Just then, Gu Xi saw the information of this hero.

[Lloyd (Level 8, Summoned Creature, Undead Hero): Experience (0/7500), Attack 4, Defense 7, Life 145, Mana 10, Talent: Withered Wood (after Level 5, each level-up increases attack and defense by 1 for all Tree-man Species), Skills: Defense Skill, Luck Skill, Leadership Skill, Leader (can simultaneously command forces of 885 soldiers + 7 bosses).]

From Lloyd’s situation, he clearly was the commander of Tree-man species troops.

Gu Xi then looked down at the corpses before him.

These were the Tree-man species Undead Soldiers.

Gu Xi raised his hand, instantly starting to summon souls.

At the same time, Amirka wasn’t idle; he understood that once Gu Xi was free, he would address his matters next.

So he quickly led the cavalry out.

Amirka’s idea was quite simple: since no one was managing him now, he should explore more places. Even if Gu Xi questions him, he can claim he was scouting.

Watching Amirka lead his team out, Gu Xi was speechless.

He hadn’t expected Amirka’s persistence to be so deep.

However, seeing his determination, he let Amirka act as he wished.

Now Gu Xi shifted his attention back to the fallen tree creatures.

With so many corpses here, without the Soul Summoning Tower’s assistance, it would take Gu Xi some time to complete the soul summoning.

By then, Amirka would have returned.

He would certainly bring back some new information, at least letting Gu Xi know what the situation is a bit further out.

This was precisely what Gu Xi wanted to discover.

Therefore, he didn’t stop Amirka; he merely lifted his head and resumed soul summoning.

This time, summoning was much simpler, bringing forth only Undead Tree Pit-like tree creature undead.

Once summoned, Lloyd immediately absorbed them, garrisoning them on the spot.

Gu Xi could instantly comprehend Lloyd’s intention; he didn’t want to return to the city, intending instead to guard here.

He clearly realized this path was a necessary passageway to other powers.

By defending here, he could block enemies daily, gaining ample experience.

They could even gather enough corpses and flesh, allowing their power to grow further.

For Lloyd, this was indeed a good thing.

Similarly, for Gu Xi, it was also a positive development.

Since he no longer needed to worry about Yalidu City being attacked at this time.

Therefore, Gu Xi’s soul summoning speed increased significantly.

Within less than half an hour, Gu Xi transformed almost three thousand corpses into Undead Tree Pits.

Just then, Amirka returned with the cavalry.

He shouted loudly.

”My lord, just up ahead.”

”What happened?”

Seeing Amirka’s demeanor, Gu Xi looked up towards him.

”I found the source of the enemy ahead.”

Amirka shouted loudly.

Upon hearing this news, Gu Xi didn’t even think to discuss Lloyd’s intentions, immediately jumping onto the Holy Silver Evil Coffin.

”Ghost Squad clear the path, everyone else follow me. Amirka, lead the way up front, let’s go see.”
