——-————

Seeing the vines almost connecting to Yalidu City, a glint flashed in Gu Xi’s eyes.

”Ghost Squad, attack! Dig out all the vines and roots here for me.”

Under Gu Xi’s command, a large number of White Impermanences surged out from the Gate of the Underworld.

They didn’t care about their status as White Impermanence and immediately started pulling the vines on the ground.

When they touched these vines and roots, the vines and roots clearly resisted as well.

However, these vines and roots didn’t have any levels; their previous ability to drag people underground was merely due to their large numbers.

When normal people approached, the vines and roots would come from all directions, easily dragging a person down.

But encountering the Ghost Squad is a different story.

After the battle in the dungeon, the Ghost Squad appeared to have increased in number once again.

Despite not growing much in the actual number, gathered together, they appeared to number seventy thousand.

Each of these seventy thousand White Impermanences had their own consciousness. Upon hearing Gu Xi’s command, they quickly dispersed and kept pulling up the vines in front of them.

The vines and roots still tried to stop the White Impermanences from approaching.

Yet these things couldn’t move and had no killing power.

Previously, in great numbers, four or five could drag a single enemy, naturally demonstrating powerful strength.

Now it’s different. With so many White Impermanences present, often a single White Impermanence could grasp a vine and using their methods, pull it or the root out of the ground.

Soon, they cleared a vacant area.

However, Gu Xi didn’t slack. He immediately sent the Ghost Squad out, letting them continue to spread outwards, pulling out all the vines they could find.

This way, pulling while moving, seven or eight hours later, Gu Xi and the others finally cleared all the vines to the south, revealing the original gray land.

At the same time, Gu Xi noticed that as the vines were pulled out, they dried quickly on the ground as if under the sun, turning into withered vines.

These withered vines, once dried, weren’t as large as before, appearing to shrink about a hundred times.

After thinking for a moment, Gu Xi decided to have the Ghost Squad pile the withered vines by the roadside, waiting to deal with them after defeating the enemy.

Thus, the vines were piled into thirty or so large and small mounds by the roadside.

These could even be seen from relatively far away places.

While Gu Xi was dealing with the vines, Amirka had already been entangled with the enemy for over ten hours.

This battle was quite difficult for Amirka.

When starting out, Amirka thought his cavalry unit alone could quickly defeat all the enemies with a charge.

But he never expected that the enemies in front were all half-man, half-tree beings.

Although their movement speed was slow, they had high defense power and life force.

Most importantly, when the cavalry charged, they could root their feet into the ground so that even the cavalry’s impact couldn’t kill them immediately.

And when the cavalry charge was interrupted, their combat power against these strange enemies was only slightly better than ordinary soldiers’.

Against such strange enemies, normally a large number of Undead Corps would be used for assault.

Cavalry are rather precious, not to be wasted here.

So Amirka could only carry out constant harassing attacks on the enemy, preventing their advance and slowly wearing down their forces.

Of course, because of Amirka’s presence, the enemies kept uprooting and rooting again, slowing their progress.

Had it not been for this, at this point, they might have already reached the base of Yaliduwei City Wall.

Such troops may be of little use in the wild, but during siege and defense, they are often crucial.

Thus, Amirka still had some use.

At least they weren’t blocking in front of Yaliduwei City.

Arriving at the battlefield with his troops, Gu Xi also noticed the cavalry unit circling around the enemy.

Seeing this scene, Gu Xi was somewhat speechless.

”Amirka, what are you doing?”

The Eye of the Soul, something Gu Xi used skillfully.

Previously, he could only contact his subordinates through the Eye of the Soul, but since mastering some Psychic Power, he could precisely locate everyone on the battlefield.

Even with the distance to Amirka and Amirka being in high-speed movement, Gu Xi could precisely locate Amirka and get in touch.

Now is such a moment, Gu Xi, upon arriving, naturally wanted to understand the situation.

Hearing Gu Xi’s question, Amirka immediately responded.

”Sir, these guys are a group of wooden men, not only with strong life force and high defense power, but when they root themselves down, they can disperse damage, and most importantly, they recover quickly.

I can only attack ten to fifteen of these strange beings at a time.”

As Amirka answered, the cavalry unit quickly moved towards Gu Xi.

At this moment, Gu Xi also saw the enemy’s formation.

Just as Amirka described, once these bizarre tree-men rooted down, they were like a forest, which the cavalry couldn’t charge through.

Such defense-type troops are not easy to tackle.

”No worries, I’ve brought more than enough troops.”

Gu Xi said calmly. This time, besides the usual troops by his side, he also included a large number of troops under the newly joined Undead Boss.

These troops were originally brought over to deal with the deceitful shadows and spooky in Yalidu City.

Now, it’s different. Gu Xi brought them all over.

Gu Xi intended to let these undead see some blood in a battle.

Looking back at the undead following behind him, Gu Xi decisively commanded.

”Amirka, take your troops to the side and prepare for a charge.”

”Ghost Corps, move forward and prepare for the first wave of attack.

Archer Team, prepare to fire.

Zombie Corps, fall back and set up the first line of defense.

...”

As Gu Xi gave one command after another, the undead he brought quickly took their positions.

At this time, Gu Xi, using the opportunity created by deploying the undead, unleashed a batch of Necromancers, who pointed their Illusion Magic Wands at the tree-like anomalies and cast the first spell.

”Flame Domain!”
