After agreeing to build a beacon tower with Lloyd, leaving one-third of the Undead for Lloyd’s command, Gu Xi swiftly headed towards Yalidu City.

This time, Gu Xi spent over ten hours outside traveling and fighting, and his stomach had long been growling with hunger.

At this moment, Gu Xi found that although the Holy Silver Evil Coffin’s cabin had a kitchen, it was devoid of any ingredients.

So the kitchen was merely decorative.

Previously, Gu Xi hadn’t considered this and dashed out without any preparation.

After all, for Gu Xi, he could open a door to Yalidu City anytime to procure food.

As a result, he suffered the consequence of not planning ahead.

Now he had no choice but to have the Holy Silver Evil Coffin rush back, preparing to return to the city for some food.

Thankfully, if the Holy Silver Evil Coffin didn’t bother with the Undead Corps behind, its speed when rushing was beyond normal imagination.

Initially, Gu Xi had spent seven or eight hours getting here, but the return trip took only an hour and a half.

Upon returning to Yalidu City, Gu Xi noticed that the city seemed to have undergone some changes.

The Gate of the Underworld, which Gu Xi had previously left as it was, was now open, with some mummy-like undead emerging from it.

The Hellhounds left by Gu Xi beside the Gate of the Underworld did nothing to impede these mummies, seeming entirely unbothered by them.

Luna stood before the Gate of the Underworld, conversing with some of the mummies.

Upon seeing Gu Xi approach, Luna immediately came up to him.

”Master, you should recruit a contracted undead to manage finances in the future; I can’t handle this job.”

”What’s going on with them?”

Gu Xi glanced at the mummies and inquired.

As Gu Xi appeared, green lights shimmered above the mummies’ heads—this was the activation of the Death Lord’s ability.

Although these mummies already belonged to someone, it didn’t hinder Gu Xi from engaging in friendly communication with them.

Watching the green light flash, Gu Xi immediately approached them, saying to the mummies: ”Hello, which Netherworld are you from?”

Upon hearing this, the mummies quickly responded.

However, Gu Xi could discern that they were using the language of souls.

Thus, Gu Xi swiftly switched languages, engaging in conversation with the mummies.

At this point, Gu Xi also understood that these mummies had inadvertently entered Yalidu City due to the influence of the Gate of the Underworld.

Yet, the reason they were attracted by the Gate of the Underworld was entirely because something here interested them.

Hearing this, Gu Xi was somewhat surprised.

This level of Yalidu City hasn’t even been fully constructed; what could possibly interest them?

At this moment, Luna added: ”I talked to them; they said they wanted some plants full of vitality but sun-dried, saying their side needs these plants.”

”Plants? Our Magic Plant District hasn’t been established yet; where would we have what they want... Wait, I think I understand. Hold on, Ghost Squad, bring over those withered vines along the way.”

Gu Xi immediately understood what these mummies wanted.

He decisively turned and ordered the Ghost Squad to pull out those dried vines along the path and deliver them.

Having issued this command, Gu Xi finally turned to Luna.

”Luna, is there any food? I’m starving.”

”Yes, Master, please wait a moment.”

Without hesitation, Luna hurried off to prepare food for Gu Xi.

At this time, Gu Xi also continued conversing with the mummies.

Of course, at this moment, Gu Xi was asking the questions while the mummies responded.

As the only undead who couldn’t be controlled by an Undead Mage, the mummies’ situation was different from that of the Death Knight.

Death Knights exist because among Players, there’s the Death Knight class, and Death Knights refuse to become slaves.

The mummies’ situation is different; all mummies are owned.

Their owners range from the gods to the pharaohs; each mummy has a backing.

Therefore, not every bandage-wrapped corpse on the road is called a mummy.

According to the mummies, each mummy is processed through various methods, carrying an essence of divinity. There was even once a rumor that mummy ashes could strengthen certain attributes.

Thus, even a powerful Undead Mage cannot make them bow down.

Of course, if Gu Xi became the God of the Underworld or something, they could introduce substitute mummies to him.

Don’t think such occurrences are rare; just like the Death Knight has Crimson, Deep Blue, and Pale Knights to replace them.

There are also substitutes for mummies.

However, mummies themselves are rare, and no one is willing to find substitutes for them.

Hence, very few people are aware of this.

During their conversation, the Ghost Squad had already delivered some dried vines.

Upon receiving the vines, one of the mummies forcefully ripped them open, exposing a large amount of tough fibers beneath.

Seeing these, the mummies nodded in satisfaction and said to Gu Xi.

”It’s these things; we’ll take whatever you have.”

”There are many.”

Gu Xi thought of the vines almost used as fuel for the beacon tower, unsure of how to explain.

”What price are you offering, and if I can provide long-term supply, should we establish a dedicated trade route?”

Hearing Gu Xi’s words, the leading mummies were taken aback.

They hesitated, consulting among themselves, until one mummy said: ”We produce some rather special items; see if there’s something you desire.

As for a dedicated trade route, we need to discuss with higher-ups when we return.”

While speaking, the mummy placed a red feather before Gu Xi.

When the feather was presented, Gu Xi felt it pulsating like a heart and emitting a strong scent of blood.

”This is a feather measured by the Balance Scale with a soul; inside is the essence blood transformed from the heart of an evil soul, used for blood replenishment for the Undead, and can strengthen those needing blood.”

Upon receiving the feather, relevant information appeared before Gu Xi’s eyes.

[Sinful Essence Blood (Green): Essence blood from the convicted heart of an evil individual, usable to summon the Undead Corps or strengthen those requiring blood.]

Looking at the feather, Gu Xi couldn’t help but think of Amirka, whose luck truly seemed unfortunate.

However, this thought quickly flashed through Gu Xi’s mind; he raised his head towards the mummy and firmly asked: ”How do we trade, and is there more of this?”
