Undead Mage from a Cell

Chapter 92: Chapter 90: Powerful Undead Corps

”Alright, come over to this side.”

Upon hearing that Gu Xi was willing to take on this task, the Undead Mage finally breathed a sigh of relief.

As a mid-level member of the Chaoyang Radiance Guild, he was well aware of what was happening in world code ULYUHDDS04CC80.

The main issue was that the three fortresses responsible for suppressing the world had encountered problems.

They failed to suppress the dangerous areas of this world, leading to a state of chaos, akin to a Night Parade of Hundred Demons or an Undead Calamity.

The recruitment of so many players was primarily to quell the monster chaos.

But the most crucial part of this was still the situation at the three suppressive fortresses.

One of the fortresses was in the best condition, as the Undead Mage and Death Knight stationed there were still present, with the only issue being a lack of troops.

What Gu Xi needed to do was transport this batch of troops over.

Once this Undead Corps was delivered, the fortress would be able to fulfill its role.

After explaining the importance of the situation to Gu Xi, the Undead Mage said again.

”Gu Xi, you are a newcomer, and originally such an important mission wouldn’t fall on you, but the current situation is unfavorable, as players above Level 5 cannot enter this world.

Among players below Level 5, if we want to transport these five thousand soldiers, we need a preparation of at least twenty thousand soldiers for potential encounters along the way.

Only you can secretly deliver these troops to the designated location.

The most important thing is that the levels of these soldiers are somewhat...

You could say it’s a stroke of good luck that you’ve encountered this opportunity, here’s the troop you’re prepared to take in, take a look.”

The Undead Mage led Gu Xi to a Teleportation Gate near the square.

This Teleportation Gate did not lead to any game world, but rather to a separate small space.

Standing outside the Teleportation Gate and looking inside, Gu Xi noticed there were five phalanxes of varying sizes.

Among them, there were two Skeleton Soldier phalanxes, both clearly marked with banners; some of the Skeleton Soldiers wielded swords and shields as basic Skeleton Soldiers, while others were Skeleton Shooters.

From their equipment alone, it was evident they were much stronger than Gu Xi’s Skeleton Soldiers.

The Zombie Corps consisted of one phalanx, with fifteen hundred individuals standing together, each wielding a solid shield in one hand and an iron hook with a chain in the other.

The last and least numerous were the Ghosts, split into two different units, one with about three hundred individuals of the antique black-robed type Gu Xi had acquired earlier, the other a semi-transparent Ghost.

But Gu Xi immediately noticed a problem after just a glance.

These units seemed to have more numbers.

”Comrade, isn’t there something off with this situation, might the numbers be too many?”

”You’ve noticed it too, there are five thousand five hundred in total, meant for your use during the journey since you will inevitably face various situations along the way. If danger arises, you can deploy these units.

However, you must be cautious not to lose too many; as long as you can deliver five thousand to the fortress, you’ll complete the task.”

Then the Undead Mage handed a map to Gu Xi.

”You will appear here, then proceed along this route, do you see this skull marker, your mission objective is here.”

Following the map’s direction, Gu Xi inspected the skull-marked location at the end, noting a small inscription.

”Scattered Immortal Garden?”

”Yes, that’s the name the guild leader chose, and we’re unable to change it; it’s about five hundred kilometers from the world entrance to there, and we’ll provide you with a good horse then.

Unless a major battle breaks out, it should take about a day to reach, considering incidental delays, two days.

So long as you can deliver these troops to Scattered Immortal Garden in two days, you’ll have completed your task.”

”Alright, I’ve understood this task.”

Gu Xi quickly grasped his assigned tasks and then motioned with his hand, causing the City Gate of Death City to manifest behind him.

This City Gate was much more substantial than the one Gu Xi previously used for intimidation, now equipped with a portcullis and drawbridge.

”Is this the fabled Three Divine Skills? Having a Death City of one’s own indeed proves convenient, these are the temporary commanders of the unit, and through this, you can command them for one battle.

But remember, afterward, you won’t be able to control these Undead.”

The Undead Mage handed Gu Xi a head-like object.

He knew well that as a city owner, he wouldn’t allow any unsettling factors within his city.

Without transferring command, these Undead Corps couldn’t enter Gu Xi’s Death City at all.

Taking the head, Gu Xi raised his arm towards the space-bound Undead Corps, saying, ”All units, line up and enter Yalidov City.”

The Undead Soldiers were quite obedient, following Gu Xi’s command; they walked out from the Teleportation Gate in batches and swiftly entered the city gate of Yalidov.

As they passed by Gu Xi, he understood the strength of this batch of Undead Corps.

[Temporary unit added, please approve!]

[Sunshine Bone Corps, Level 3 unit, including 2000 Skeleton Soldiers, Average Level 6.]

[Light Shooter Corps, Level 3 unit, with 1000 Skeleton Shooters, Average Level 7.]

[War Shackles Camp, Level 2 unit, consisting of 1500 Heavy Armor Zombies, Average Level 7.]

[Yinfeng Camp, Level 3 unit, comprised of 350 Ghosts, Average Level 7.]

[Ghost Qi Camp, Level 4 unit, with 150 Ghosts, Average Level 8.]

Seeing the information displayed before him, Gu Xi was speechless; were these units truly so formidable?

Even Weak Bone Dragons start at Level 7, and within these five units, four had an average Level of 7, and their numbers weren’t small.

Gu Xi believed that any unit taken individually could contend with a Bone Dragon of the same level.

Moreover, he had a strong sense that the Heavy Armor Zombies of the War Shackles Camp were designed specifically to counter Bone Dragons.

With such powerful forces, Gu Xi felt a splash of cold reality; he initially thought he could be invincible.

However, now it seemed he was still quite weak, given that even a small guild from Bailian City could deploy such a formidable force without resorting to any schemes, purely overpowering everything Gu Xi had.

As these Undead units entered, an additional five hundred stepped into Yalidov City.

These five hundred were the proportionally spare units of the five troops, each one Level 1 lower than the regular soldiers.

According to what the Undead Mage mentioned earlier, these extras were meant for use during the journey; if Gu Xi successfully delivered the five thousand soldiers to Scattered Immortal Garden, these additional Undead Soldiers wouldn’t need to be returned.

Essentially, this equated to gifting Gu Xi with a batch of strong soldiers, a prospect that certainly intrigued him.

And as the five units entered Yalidov City, the Undead Mage added.

”Come, I’ll take you to the guild shop; I have priority access rights, replenish your supplies, and set out immediately.”
