Undead Mage from a Cell

Chapter 63: Chapter 61: The Owl House that Increases Intelligence

After eating and drinking to his fill in the tavern, Gu Xi finally staggered out.

Once he stepped through the tavern door, Gu Xi realized that the barmaid only escorted him as far as the entrance and would not go out any further, clearly indicating she had no intention of leaving the tavern.

At this moment, Gu Xi felt a spark of inspiration, ”Barmaid, does the tavern have a function for posting or accepting tasks?”

”Yes, sometimes when I’m short on something and find it inconvenient to search, I always post some tasks for people to help out. Don’t forget to occasionally visit this little tavern of mine, you might find some unexpected surprises.”

The barmaid spoke while covering her mouth with her bony fingers.

Gu Xi quickly turned his head away; although he had become an Undead Mage, he still wasn’t quite used to facing this type of skeleton.

If outsiders knew that Gu Xi felt the skeleton was charming, they’d probably think he was crazy.

Seeing Gu Xi hurry away, the barmaid chuckled softly. After Gu Xi left, she turned to the three subordinates in the tavern.

”Is my skin not painted yet? Going out without putting on a skin feels like not wearing any clothes, it’s uncomfortable.”

Unaware of what was happening behind him, Gu Xi was being led by Luna to the vicinity of the Owl House.

”I’ve already arranged the Library; since resources are sufficient, it can be built by tomorrow. However, all the medium plots in the city are used up, so we won’t have suitable land for any new buildings.”

”I know, after the Library is built, focus on small and supporting buildings.

We’ll deal with the medium plots once we take over the Pier District.”

Speaking of which, Gu Xi paused before continuing, ”The barmaid in the tavern seems a bit odd, do you know her background?”

”I’m not quite sure, the management personnel inside the core buildings always appear along with the buildings, but as long as the buildings are within our territory, they are trustworthy.”

With Luna’s reassurance, Gu Xi chose to say nothing more.

Coincidentally, they arrived at the Owl House, and Luna began to introduce it to Gu Xi.

This place originally should have been a three-story apartment building, yet after significant modifications, its style had somewhat changed.

At the very least, it didn’t match the surrounding style; instead, it looked like a patchwork from the previous ruins.

The three-story apartment turned into a five-story building, with all the walls removed and replaced with various sizes of windows, and some branches stretched out from the windows.

In this neighborhood, the building indeed appeared strange.

Gu Xi didn’t care much about owls delivering messages, as he had no one to contact, but the weekly meat supply was quite valuable to him.

Although Yalidov is a Death City, Gu Xi occasionally comes over, and food is crucial for how long he can stay in Yalidov.

Now with confirmation of food supply and the tavern to cook it, what more could Gu Xi ask for?

Nodding in satisfaction, Gu Xi pushed open the Owl House door and entered the ground floor hall.

Upon stepping into the hall, Gu Xi found the interior of the Owl House quite different from its exterior.

This hall was not as cluttered as the outside, but rather carried a serene aura.

At the center of the hall was a sparkling pool, surrounded by blinking eyes.

”Luna, how much Mysterious Rat Meat do we have left from last time?”

”About four or five pieces.”

Luna hesitated for a moment, such trivial matters had really not caught her attention.

”I’ll stay here for a while, bring all the Mysterious Rat Meat over.”

”Okay.”

Upon hearing this, Luna glided outside, while Gu Xi stepped forward, standing by the pool.

At that moment, Gu Xi felt as though he stood amidst a starry sky, with the stars in the sky being the blinking eyes in the darkness.

Each eye seemed full of wisdom yet different.

This feeling was incredibly comforting for Gu Xi, providing the perfect opportunity for him to sort through the various knowledge he’d learned. Things he had studied in school but hadn’t utilized in the game were also recalled by Gu Xi.

Simultaneously, Gu Xi contemplated the unnoticed details from before, realizing that some of his choices might have been problematic.

If not for his good luck, his bones might have already been confiscated for processing.

Considering this, Gu Xi sighed heavily.

Soon after, his vision brightened, and a ding sounded in his ears.

Seeing his enhanced attributes and skills, Gu Xi smiled happily.

The Owl House wasn’t built in vain; the gains were quite satisfying this time.

At that moment, Luna returned, holding several pieces of Mysterious Rat Meat.

Gu Xi took the Mysterious Rat Meat and tossed it into the glowing pool.

As the pieces of Mysterious Rat Meat sank into the water, a ding sounded again in Gu Xi’s ears.

[You placed suitable food (mouse, snake, squirrel, etc.) in the Owl House, attracting the attention of some owls.]

Apart from this, Gu Xi saw a visible percentage appear above the pool.

”27%, Luna, in the future, bring all the rats or similar things found in the city here. I want to see what happens when the pool is fully satisfied.”
