Undead Mage from a Cell

Chapter 57: Chapter 55: Sewer Black Market

When Luna returned to Yalidov City, Gu Xi was not idle either. He specially granted permission for Luna and Shaya to enter and exit the area before quickly leaving the ruins.

As he walked out of the ruins, Gu Xi glanced back once.

Because the Mirror of Magical Rules had lost its effect, outsiders now saw the place not as the predetermined ruins but in its original small building form.

Of course, after the Skeleton Soldiers’ cleaning, there were no more ruins here, leaving only an empty plot of land.

Perhaps when daylight comes, someone might be curious about what happened here and may even want to come in and see the situation inside.

However, Gu Xi did not intend to let anyone disrupt the peace here. He had already set up the Mysterious Rule Mirror. Though it still looks like a vacant plot, the rule has already been activated. If someone accidentally enters and dies here, it would be a big problem.

After leaving the vacant land, Gu Xi looked up at the sky, then turned his head in another direction.

”Back so soon?”

Shaya stepped out slowly from the darkness. After some time of adjustment, she had regained her original combat power. As she emerged from the darkness, she was still wearing a red gown and high heels, yet she made no sound at all.

When she got about three meters in front of Gu Xi, she lowered her head.

”Sir.”

”Have you seen your mentor?”

Gu Xi glanced at Shaya and noticed that her clothes had been changed. He also noticed slight changes in her movements.

”Yes, I have. My mentor was very happy to see me step out, and my mentor has now made me a full-fledged thief.”

Faced with this situation, Gu Xi also fell silent for a moment, ”Your mentor has been good to you. Do visit him more often when you have time.

Now Shaya, there’s something I need you to handle.”

”Please instruct me, sir.”

”You are quite familiar with Victoria City, aren’t you? Do you know if there’s any construction team that can build houses quickly, preferably one that can finish in a short time?”

”Yes.” Shaya replied decisively after hearing Gu Xi’s request, ”I heard there are a few Elf and Goblin construction teams on the Black Market side. Their building speed is very fast, but their charges are relatively high.”

”It’s alright, we still have some goods we can use as barter if possible.”

Upon hearing there were construction teams, Gu Xi immediately said, ”Let’s hurry over and get this place built quickly, so we can finish up sooner.”

”This way, sir.”

Seeing Gu Xi make up his mind, Shaya did not push further and guided Gu Xi in one direction.

Following behind Shaya, Gu Xi quickly passed through a nearby alley, then opened the sewer entrance, and moved forward through the foul sewer for about twenty minutes.

Finally, they jumped onto a small boat docked inside the sewer, which took them to a small dock deep within the sewer.

Gu Xi could tell the dock in front of him was made of corpses and various garbage materials drifting downstream.

But once they stepped on it, it was apparent the dock was quite solid.

”Sir, this is the Black Market. All sorts of people appear here, so be careful not to act rashly.”

As Shaya spoke, Gu Xi was observing the situation in the sewer.

Gu Xi noticed that although the sewer was just as filthy, it maintained an orderly chaos.

People hurried along with their heads down, and on both sides of the path, rats and cockroaches moved in orderly lines.

It was obvious that these inconspicuous little creatures were the Intel sources of the sewer’s owner.

Most importantly, Gu Xi sensed a faint aura of death in the sewer.

At first, Gu Xi thought it was due to the many corpses piled up there.

But after a moment of observation, Gu Xi realized that it was not so straightforward; in places unnoticed by most, there were details featuring Skeletons or other ornamental elements.

Evidently, the master of the hidden Black Market in the sewer was an exceptionally powerful Undead Mage.

”Sir, over here.”

While Gu Xi was still surveying the surroundings, Shaya had already walked to a shop’s entrance and beckoned to Gu Xi.

Gu Xi glanced at the shop and found it was cobbled together from several broken boats, with a fishing net hanging as a curtain. Standing at the entrance, he could even see the eerie blue flame inside.

”What’s the situation here?”

Speaking as he went, Gu Xi lifted the curtain and walked inside.

As soon as he entered, a foul stench hit him.

Looking up, he saw a mountain-like obese goblin sitting in a pile of junk.

The goblin’s hands were adorned with all sorts of rings.

”Time is money, my friend, I’ve heard you have business for me?”

”Yes, I have a piece of land, just acquired, roughly 300 square meters. I would like a three-story building with a basement built on it within two days. Of course, some magic effects would be even better.

”The tight time frame and heavy task—this is exactly the kind of job I like. But you know, we goblins aren’t like elves who can use magic, so...”

”How much extra?” Gu Xi immediately saw through the goblin’s nature.

”At least double. I’m not afraid to say, you have quite a lot of requirements. A three-story building on 300 square meters, just think how many materials that requires.

And you’re also pressed for time, wanting magic effects. Even without the magic effects, to complete this on time...”

Before the goblin could finish, its eyes shifted to Gu Xi’s hand, where he held a Crystalized Eye.

”Is this enough?”

”Can I take a look?”

Gu Xi raised his hand, letting the Crystalized Eye land in the goblin’s hand. The goblin examined it with a magnifying glass, then looked up.

”The quality is quite good. This should be an eye of a level 6 or so strong creature. The crystallization occurred due to the influence of some mysterious power, which killed the creature when its head was crystalized, resulting in this piece.

It retains the creature’s partial power and possesses the mysterious trait of crystallization. It’s an excellent piece of alchemical material, worth at least five thousand pounds on the market.

But it’s not enough...”
