Undead Mage from a Cell

Chapter 66: Chapter 64: Gu Xi’s Request

”Your grades are good, but the awards and graduation ceremonies ended a month ago. I can’t have everyone come back to hold another ceremony.”

”There’s no such thing, after all, everyone has already scattered to various guilds for internships, and some have even entered new game worlds.”

”Calling them back now isn’t realistic, so let’s forget it. You should take your rewards and leave.”

Looking at the Undead Mage with a face showing concern for Gu Xi, Gu Xi’s expression turned unpleasant.

”What, are you trying to swindle me out of what I deserve?”

”No, I just want to tell you that there’s no way to handle this. We can’t drag all the students back, right?”

The Undead Mage explained, a hint of smugness flashing in his eyes.

He actually had a reason for doing this.

As the graduating mentor of this class, he was well aware of the situation of the current graduates.

The top graduate of this class is the son of the third guild’s vice president in Bailian City. To ensure his son got the top spot, the vice president put in a lot of effort.

Of course, this vice president also reached some agreements with Nether Bone Wind Academy, enhancing the top graduate’s award.

It can be said that the reward for the top graduate this year is the best in the fifty-year history of Nether Bone Wind.

Additionally, this year’s top was directly signed by the third guild of the city, the Steel Ghost Claw Corps, as the draft champion.

Having them come back to do it all over again would slap the face of the Steel Ghost Claw Corps.

So the Undead Mage had a bright idea and immediately thought of this excuse.

At the same time, he was proud of his idea, planning to boast to the deputy leader of the Steel Ghost Claw Corps after dealing with Gu Xi to get some benefits.

Although Gu Xi didn’t know the Undead Mage’s thoughts, some things would truly be lost if you don’t fight for them.

”I understand you can’t call people back, but you shouldn’t shortchange me on what I’m owed.”

”I know, the employment rewards are all ready, they’re there for you to take.”

Seeing Gu Xi being so easy to talk to, the Undead Mage casually pointed to the other side of the White Disaster Trial Hall, where the graduation rewards for students who completed the employment trial were placed.

Gu Xi didn’t bother to look in that direction. Instead, he took a step forward, and behind him, the city gate started to become solid.

”I mean, I shouldn’t be shorted on a single thing.”

”What do you mean, don’t think that just because you have a Three Divine Skills, you can be arrogant. I tell you, only living geniuses are geniuses; if you’re dead, you’re nothing.”

Gu Xi instead laughed upon hearing this, ”Teacher, it’s fine to tell that to other professions, but we’re Undead Mages. Even dead, I’m still an Undead Mage.”

The Undead Mage in front of him was also a bit embarrassed. The advantage of being an Undead Mage is that even if you die, you can possibly turn into a Necromancer, Skeleton Mage, or even a Corpse Witch or Witch Demon.

They could then fight for another five hundred years.

With Gu Xi’s attitude, if he did take this matter to heart, it would still be a trouble.

”What do you want to do? Anyway, calling students back is impossible. The students have started their internships, and our Nether Bone Wind Academy doesn’t have such a reputation to have guilds across the city release the students.”

The Undead Mage insisted against Gu Xi, but it was clear that his words lacked the momentum they had before.

He was already struggling to withstand Gu Xi’s pressure.

”I don’t want those useless things. I’ll be direct: see if you can do this. If you can, then we’ll consider this matter over. If not, I don’t believe opening the gates of Death City won’t let me find someone to reason with.”

Listening to Gu Xi, the Undead Mage was finally frightened.

He knew very well the status of the Undead Three Divine Skills among Undead Mages.

As long as Gu Xi showed it to the outside world, this matter would blow up, and the reputation of Nether Bone Wind Academy would be thrown into the sewer, trampled countless times.

No matter if the academy and Gu Xi reached some agreement in the end, he would not benefit at all.

”Dear student, I’ve been clear with you...”

But the Undead Mage still wanted to struggle a bit, trying to persuade Gu Xi.

”If you can’t make the decision, find someone who can.” Gu Xi interrupted him, turning and looking at Li Xinghui, ”Comrade, can you help me contact the academy’s dean?”

Li Xinghui had been watching the commotion all along. He didn’t expect that after waiting till the end, what he thought was just picking up some trash turned out to be getting a champion.

He had really struck it rich.

Some things don’t need much questioning; he could make the decision himself.

”Don’t worry. Just because you called me a comrade, our Chaoyang Radiance Guild will definitely handle this matter.”

As he spoke, some Ravens emitting bluish light appeared behind Li Xinghui. He whispered a few words to these ravens, and they quickly flew away.

After doing all this, Li Xinghui proudly said to Gu Xi, ”These are Storm Ravens, which are messenger birds kept by the guild. When you join the guild, you will also receive a few.”

Gu Xi smiled but said nothing, just kept his eyes on the Undead Mage’s every move.

He still hadn’t gotten what he wanted; he couldn’t afford to lose momentum.

Before long, the door to the White Disaster Trial Hall was pushed open.

A lavishly-dressed Undead Mage strode in.

In his hand, he held a Magic Staff made of White Jade-colored bones, and as he walked forward, green liquid could be seen flowing underneath his Magic Robe.

Gu Xi had seen this person before; he was the dean of Nether Bone Wind Academy, a Level 15 Undead Mage, Lu Yongchang.

As he opened the door and came in, Lu Yongchang loudly said, ”Wasn’t there talk that our academy produced a dragon? Where is he? Oh, is this Death City? You must be the student who just took the graduation trial.”

”An Undead Mage at Level 3?”

”Hahaha, indeed a dragon has emerged. Our Nether Bone Wind Academy will finally have a chance to be famous worldwide.”

”So, have you joined a guild yet? If not, why not push that guild aside and study for a few more years at the academy?”

Seeing Lu Yongchang’s eager expression, Gu Xi helplessly looked at Li Xinghui.

Li Xinghui chuckled and said to Gu Xi, ”I told the academy’s dean that a big dragon came out from this graduation trial. If he wants to promote Nether Bone Wind Academy, he should hurry over, or else when I take you away, he won’t benefit from the publicity.”

Saying this, Li Xinghui winked at Gu Xi.

Gu Xi immediately understood Li Xinghui’s meaning. If Li Xinghui had told everything happening here, Lu Yongchang wouldn’t have come so quickly.

Instead, making Lu Yongchang think this event was beneficial to Nether Bone Wind, his coming speed was like the wind.
