Undead Mage from a Cell

Chapter 51: Chapter 49: Twisted Mage

Luna’s Touch of Frost effect was quite effective; as long as contact was made, it would have some impact, no matter the level.

Gu Xi was waiting for this opportunity. When Luna froze the shadow, Gu Xi raised his hand and sent a Bone Spike flying over.

The shadow was frozen momentarily, its body noticeably pausing, stopping its movement, allowing the Bone Spike to easily pierce into its body.

As the Bone Spike pierced him, the nearby Skeleton Soldiers immediately charged forward, launching a spear thrust and sword slash at the guy.

The guy was using his power, continuously emitting red light, each blast capable of shattering a Skeleton Soldier.

But the number of Skeleton Soldiers was overwhelming, he could only manage to shatter two or three of them before being cut down by the Skeleton Soldiers.

Within just a few strikes, this guy was forcibly hacked to death by the Skeleton Soldiers.

[Skeleton Soldier (Summoned Creatures) killed Twisted Mage (Youth, Level 3), you gained 18 experience points, Combat Squad gained 1 experience point, Contracted Undead gained 22 experience points, summoned creatures participating in the kill gained 4 experience points.]

Twisted Mage? What kind of existence is this?

Gu Xi hadn’t figured out the relationship here when suddenly a sound of high-speed movement came from behind him.

Gu Xi looked back to find another black-robed man dressed like the Twisted Mage appearing in the courtyard of the apartment building.

But this one looked even older, with long white hair spilling out from the black hood, shining with oil, without a hint of grooming.

Upon standing in the courtyard, he noticed the shadow killed by the Skeleton Soldiers.

This black-robed man’s face instantly twisted, ”Harry, you killed my son, I will kill you!”

As he finished, the black-robed man pointed forward, and a red light beam shot towards Gu Xi.

The Skeleton Soldiers around Gu Xi swiftly moved forward, blocking the strike.

However, Gu Xi clearly noticed that this time the shattered Skeleton soldiers were more severely broken.

”Block him.”

Gu Xi spoke while throwing another Bone Spike at the target, thinking he should learn another tracking ranged attack skill; relying on Bone Spike might not be enough to kill enemies.

Under Gu Xi’s command, the Skeleton Soldiers quickly moved forward.

But just like the Twisted Mage killed earlier, this one too had the ability to move at high speed as a shadow.

The speed of the Skeleton Soldiers couldn’t catch up to the enemy.

Gu Xi wanted Luna to freeze the enemy like before, but this one reacted faster than Luna; even when pausing, he could quickly start again, evading the targeted attack.

Facing such a fast-moving enemy, Gu Xi knew relying on Skeleton Soldiers wouldn’t work, he decisively shouted, ”Luna, Wail!”

Luna instantly caught Gu Xi’s intention, and at the moment the man began to move as a shadow, she screamed in his direction of advance.

Banshee Wail activated!

Luna’s scream spread in all directions, striking the shadow as he began to move.

As he was forced out of the shadow movement effect, Gu Xi decisively pointed his finger in that direction.

The man knew Gu Xi could fire Bone Spikes, so he swiftly rolled aside.

But Gu Xi casually pointed, and as he rolled, three Flying Knives had already shot from Gu Xi’s left hand.

The Flying Knives flew faster than Bone Spikes and could precisely target the desired location; although the man’s rolling speed was swift, one dagger still stuck into him.

He had no intention of removing the dagger; instead, he stood up and pointed at Gu Xi.

At this time, Gu Xi had no Skeleton Soldier holding a Shield.

But immediately, a Skeleton Soldier wielding a Long Spear appeared to willingly block the strike for Gu Xi.

Gu Xi seized the opportunity and threw another dagger at the man.

It seemed as if telling the enemy, ”I’ve exhausted my Magic Power, come trouble me.”

Sure enough, the man understood the implication in Gu Xi’s attack and decisively charged towards Gu Xi.

As he prepared to start, Gu Xi suddenly took out his Shattering Staff and pointed at the black-robed man.

The appearance of a new weapon startled the black-robed man, his actions evidently slowed.

Gu Xi noticed him stepping on a fallen Skeleton Soldier; without hesitation, Gu Xi triggered a Corpse Burst.

Bang!

The power of Secondary Corpse Burst is proportionate to the life lived by the corpse.

A small explosion instantly blew off the man’s left leg.

Nearby Skeleton Soldiers saw this and decisively rushed forward, intending to hack the man to death immediately.

But the subsequent scene stunned Gu Xi, as the man raised his right hand and put a ring with a large stone in his mouth.

Without any apparent action, a scream echoed from inside the building, the cry akin to the howl before a person’s death, even more horrific than Luna’s Banshee Wail.

Uncertain of what transpired inside the building, Gu Xi glanced over, seeing a mass of blood fly out and land precisely on the man’s body.

As the blood landed, the black-robed man absorbed all of it instantly, and Gu Xi was shocked to find the man’s blasted leg regenerated to its original form.

The man’s pale hair even turned black, appearing full of life.

Was this rebirth or resurrection?

Gu Xi was confused, but realized the ring with a large stone absorbed the blood’s power and restored the black-robed man’s strength to its peak level.

All of Gu Xi’s prior attacks were in vain.

Faced with such a situation, Gu Xi was also decisive, ”Go, don’t let him run!”

Luna appeared behind the man instantly, Touch of Frost landing on him.

But at this moment, the black-robed man’s combat power clearly reached its peak, and the frost only appeared briefly before vanishing.

Gu Xi couldn’t care about anything else now; five Bone Spikes flew towards the black-robed man as Gu Xi quickly rushed him, seemingly intending to engage in close combat.

The black-robed man, seeing Gu Xi charging, extended both hands forward, casting two red beams towards Gu Xi.

Gu Xi didn’t dodge as two Skeleton Soldiers leaped forth, exploding in front of him.

With the Skeleton Soldiers’ explosion, Gu Xi decisively rushed to the black-robed man’s front, swinging the Shattering Staff heavily towards his head.
