Undead Mage from a Cell

Chapter 70: Chapter 68: Chaoyang Radiance Guild

Nether Bone Wind Academy doesn’t offer much to the chief, besides the Chief Battle Banner and the Champion Ring, typically just two academy awards and a private award from the principal.

However, this award ceremony and graduation took over four hours.

Not until it was dark did Nether Bone Wind Academy conclude this ceremony and send the guests away from the academy gates.

Just as Gu Xi was preparing to leave with Li Xinghui, the Undead Mage Man Xuebo also approached them.

”Gu Xi, sorry about before. I was just thinking about the academy. This is a small gift, consider it compensation for you.”

As Man Xuebo spoke, he presented a small gift pack.

Man Xuebo did not care about giving it away as it was something provided by the vice president of the Steel Ghost Claw Guild.

He wanted to add an extra layer of protection against Gu Xi.

Gu Xi glanced at Man Xuebo, then looked back at Li Xinghui before finally accepting the gift.

However, Gu Xi did not check its contents at that moment, casually putting the gift pack into his pocket as he followed Li Xinghui out.

Once they were outside the academy gates, Li Xinghui hailed a Bone Horse Carriage.

”Get in, I’ll take you to the guild first. Once you’ve met the guild master, we’ll see how to arrange things for you.”

”Alright.” Gu Xi smiled and boarded the carriage. When he got on, he noticed an emblem of a sun rising over a mountain on the carriage door.

”This is...”

”Oh, this is our guild’s carriage. Unexpected, right? Although our guild isn’t highly ranked, we’re actually quite strong.

Since we have some idle time on the way, let me tell you more about the guild.

Our guild exclusively controls seven game worlds, with three worlds guarded, three in the process of being conquered, and one newly acquired that we’re preparing to explore.

Additionally, the guild has eleven dungeon gates, six of which require Level 5 or below. If you want to improve yourself, you can apply to participate in dungeon battles.

Our guild master is Level 12, and the two vice presidents are both at Level 11, which is quite respectable in Bailian City.

Generally speaking, new members join the novice group first. After reaching Level 3, they’re distributed to various battalions for internships based on their profession, but since you’re already Level 3 and have mastered the Three Divine Skills, the guild master might directly place you in a battalion for your internship.

At that time, you should try to impress and strive to join the Sun Mage Corps.”

”Sun Mage Corps?”

Gu Xi curiously asked.

”Oh, it’s the Undead Mage 1st Corps, personally managed by the guild master. They’re the elite undead mages of the guild. There’s also the Death Knight 1st Corps, also managed by the guild master, called the Sun Knight Order.”

Gu Xi looked up at the overcast sky, as Bailian City primarily consists of Undead Mages and Death Knights, with other Yin Ghost and spirit-related professions as supplements. The entire city is gloomy, with 366 days of the year without seeing the sun.

”Doesn’t a small guild giving their battalion such a name seem a bit much?”

Li Xinghui noticed Gu Xi’s expression, a glint of pride flickered in his eyes. He gave a knowing look, but quickly changed the subject without explaining.

This atmosphere, in turn, relieved Gu Xi’s burden, fostering a sense of camaraderie between him and Li Xinghui.

The carriage traveled for about thirty minutes and turned from the street onto a small path. After passing a few gates, Gu Xi noticed the sky seemed brighter.

It was then that Li Xinghui proudly spoke from the carriage.

”Didn’t expect that, did you? This was something the guild master acquired unintentionally while challenging a new world.”

Gu Xi looked at the sky in amazement, noticing a sun hanging there. Reaching out through the carriage window, he felt the sunlight on his hand, with a noticeable warmth.

But Gu Xi soon sensed a trace of coldness beneath the warmth, indicating that the sun in the sky wasn’t quite normal.

”As expected of a chief, you noticed it so quickly.”

Seeing Gu Xi’s reaction, Li Xinghui laughed, ”Let me tell you, this sun the guild master obtained is no ordinary sun. One time, he randomly ended up in the Golden Game World, heard of ’Journey to the West’?

There, even a small mountain patrol demon is Level 15.

The guild master couldn’t defeat anyone, but he didn’t waste this opportunity. He went to Zhuokou Spring and started digging, unearthing the remains of a dead Golden Crow.

After bringing it back, he completed many tasks to turn the Golden Crow’s remains into his Contracted Undead.

Now this Golden Crow flies in the sky, and I dare say our Chaoyang Radiance Guild’s residence is the only place in Bailian City that has sunshine.”

With Li Xinghui’s introduction, Gu Xi stepped off the carriage.

He looked around and found himself in a large plaza.

The plaza’s architecture was peculiarly divided into two sections.

One side featured pools and gates of various designs, and the other side had buildings and villas of varying heights.

”These pools are entrances to exclusive guild worlds. You can enter once you’ve applied for access.

Those gates are dungeon gates, which you can also enter once your application is approved, but for dungeons, you should form a team instead of going in alone.

The other side houses guild-assigned accommodations: high-rise buildings for novices and interns, and villas for members who join a battalion.

Each area corresponds to a battalion, equipped with all sorts of living facilities.

By the way, if you have a personal world passage, an independent dungeon key, or wish to apply for a random game world, just report the time, but absolutely do not open it in the dormitory area.”

Listening to Li Xinghui’s warning, Gu Xi nodded affirmatively.

He was well aware of the taboos of opening a game world.

Though entering a game is relatively private, it can’t be done at home.

Because there’s no guarantee that every player can safely return.

If one merely dies in the game, that’s one thing, but if possessed or controlled, it’s a whole different story.

Historically, there have been incidents where game characters possessed players, leading to chaos.

Thus, the rule was established: entering and exiting games must happen in visible locations.

It cannot happen in private rooms.

”By the way, when I came out this time, I established an Anchor Point and opened a game passage. I need to apply for a separate personal passage.”

”No problem, after I help you with the enrollment procedures, someone will arrange it for you.”
