Undead Mage from a Cell

Chapter 90: Chapter 88: Guild Emergency Mission (2/74)

[Rat Wine (White): A type of wine soaked with rats, filled with poison, not suitable for humans to drink. If consumed by the Undead, it grants a plague attack effect for two hours.]

Glancing at the Rat Wine that the White Bone Wine Lady brought over, Gu Xi finally believed the situation regarding the Rat Wine. He pushed the glass with a rat head still floating in it in front of Luna, and began to chat with the White Bone Wine Lady.

”Barmaid, it’s only been a few days, but why do you seem to have gotten prettier?”

”Really? I felt the same way myself.”

The White Bone Wine Lady, hearing this, quickly covered her mouth with a towel and laughed happily.

But the moment she covered her mouth, everything changed. Without a nose, she wasn’t as pretty as before.

Gu Xi pressed his brow speechlessly and said, ”Barmaid, do you have some free time lately? Help me gather intelligence on the surrounding two areas. Oh, and if possible, check the information on Yaliduvi Tower as well.”

”No problem. We’ve been collecting corresponding intelligence and information during this period, especially on the nearby areas, which we’ve been focusing on.”

As they spoke, the Skeleton waitress in the tavern brought various strange foods to the table.

”You guys are going up against the owls, aren’t you? Roasted owl, fine. But fried owl? Owl pie?”

”No, not really. We just don’t have customers here right now; being idle all day isn’t good either, so we’ve done a bit of research. Next time if other ingredients are available in the city, we will definitely find a way to create some new dishes.”

In response to Gu Xi’s question, the White Bone Wine Lady smiled casually.

But these are all things the White Bone Wine Lady and the others make in their spare time. The truly effective dish is still the Roasted Owl.

Gu Xi only dared to trust the system’s judgment and eat the Roasted Owl. As for the Owl Pie, Gu Xi was not too willing to trust it.

It’s not that he didn’t trust the barmaid’s skills, he just didn’t believe his stomach could handle such food.

So no matter how many dishes were served, Gu Xi only ate Roasted Owl and drank Green Ghost Wine.

While eating and drinking, Gu Xi would also chat with the barmaid, inquiring about the tavern’s current situation.

Now that the tavern is fully staffed, as long as there are five types of drinks, it can automatically upgrade.

Once it reaches level 2, the tavern will be able to provide Gu Xi with some new services.

As for what services, Gu Xi just glanced at the Skeleton waitress and didn’t ask further.

Anyway, these services didn’t concern him.

Once Gu Xi’s mana fully recovered and feeling a bit tipsy, Gu Xi finally stood up, ready to leave the tavern.

Just then, Gu Xi suddenly heard the sound of a bird fight coming from a distance.

”Luna, what’s happened?”

Gu Xi looked towards the direction of the sound, and Luna rushed out immediately.

In no time, Luna came back with a black raven in her grasp.

”Sir, this raven was probably here to deliver a message, but since we have the Owl House, when the raven came to deliver, it stopped there.

It was attacked by the owls inside, and if I hadn’t gone over, it might have been driven away.”

Upon hearing this, Gu Xi burst into laughter.

After laughing, Gu Xi remembered what Li Xinghui had mentioned, about the Chaoyang Radiance Guild members using ravens for communication.

On their way to the Chaoyang Radiance Guild, Li Xinghui even mentioned helping Gu Xi choose a better raven.

”What’s the message it brought?”

Gu Xi asked curiously.

Luna extended her hand, and a piece of red letter paper appeared in her hand.

”What is this?”

Taking the letter, Gu Xi opened it and found that it read:

Game code ULYUHDDS04CC80 world (garrison) had an unexpected incident, now all players need to drop their current tasks and urgently assemble to address this world issue.

All players who receive this message should exit the current game immediately and gather at the guild’s main square.

Besides this message, it also bore the mark of the Chaoyang Radiance Guild.

Gu Xi immediately knew the letter was real.

He thought for a moment and told Luna, ”Looks like I can’t stay here any longer, the guild needs me back, I’ll leave the construction of Yalidu City to you.”

”Rest assured, sir. As long as I’m here, I’ve got things covered.”

”Also, keep an eye on Shaya; it’s even more dangerous there. If there’s any problem, just call her back immediately.”

”Understood.”

After instructing Luna, Gu Xi did not linger. Taking a step forward, he immediately left Yalidu City.

When Gu Xi left, the White Bone Wine Lady happened to be bringing up newly prepared wine and dishes.

Seeing Gu Xi’s departing figure, the White Bone Wine Lady muttered with some dissatisfaction.

”How boring, just eat and drink and run off, all men are like this.”

Gu Xi disregarded his reputation in Yalidu City. After leaving the city, he immediately saw a large number of Undead Mages walking out of the apartment building, heading towards the direction of the Chaoyang Guild’s main square.

Meanwhile, some players were swiftly logging out of the game, not bothering to tidy up their stuff, nor considering taking a break, heading straight to the main square to wait.

Gu Xi glanced around and finally spotted Li Xinghui amidst a combat squad.

After contemplating for a moment, he nodded in greeting from a distance, then stood waiting in a corner of the main square.

As he was not yet clear about how the Chaoyang Radiance Guild operated, and unsure which squad he would be assigned to, he stood waiting alone on the side for the final arrangement.

After a messy ten minutes, the players in the main square finally calmed down.

Gu Xi noticed that in the Chaoyang Radiance Guild, Undead Mages accounted for 60% of the members, 30% were Death Knights, and the remaining 10% consisted of various peculiar Undead Professions.

However, not everyone was gathered based on their profession categories. Players were likely grouped into squads for classification.

Most squads consisted of three to five members; besides that, there were 20-man and 40-man groups as well.

Once the attendees were mostly present, two players who appeared to be quite strong began taking attendance with a roster.

Gu Xi listened idly.

Listening closely, Gu Xi discovered that the players urgently summoned back weren’t all the Chaoyang Radiance Guild members, but those with levels between 3 and 6.

They could be considered the backbone of the Chaoyang Radiance Guild.

After confirming the player numbers and levels, the president of the Chaoyang Radiance Guild stepped forward.
