Undead Mage from a Cell

Chapter 56: Chapter 54: Rule Mirror

”This is just a classic thief.”

Gu Xi glanced at Shaya’s current attributes and immediately made a judgment in his heart.

The power and skills are fine, but if only her talent and attributes were suited for a tank.

But why is she a thief, of all things?

Despite these thoughts, Gu Xi still walked up to Shaya.

”Shaya?”

”Mm, I’m here, lord...”

Shaya seemed to recall Gu Xi’s identity, hesitated for a moment, and then corrected herself.

”How did you end up like this?”

Gu Xi was more concerned about Shaya’s situation.

For Gu Xi’s question, Shaya was a bit helpless, ”My mentor was helping you with the land title, and I knew a few people, so I secretly followed along.

I originally thought if the owner of this place didn’t agree to the exchange, I would resort to something drastic, but I didn’t expect such a situation behind the ruins, and I got trapped without realizing.”

At this point, Shaya raised her hand, looking at the faint magic patterns on her skin, knowing she couldn’t go back.

Even if the mentor of the Destiny Compass liked her, he wouldn’t let an undead continue to study there.

Seeing Shaya’s current state, Gu Xi pondered for a moment before saying: ”I know what you’re thinking. It’s just as well that we have some time. You should go back and take a look.

Because of your situation, your mentor’s face was quite unsightly. This time when you go back, you should at least say goodbye to him.”

Shaya looked at Gu Xi, nodded earnestly, and said: ”Okay.”

As Gu Xi and Shaya were talking, Luna came floating out from nearby again.

”Lord, come and take a look. I’ve found something else.”

Upon hearing this, Gu Xi waved to Shaya to dismiss her and then followed Luna to a spot behind the small building.

The building materials from the collapsed small building had been cleared away, revealing another basement.

Unlike the corpse-hanging basement, this basement was notably smaller and, though not entirely clean, wasn’t filled with hanging corpses.

Inside this basement, besides an extinguished crucible, there was only a cracked mirror on the wall.

Upon entering, Gu Xi’s gaze fell on the mirror.

”Is this... the Rule Mirror?”

Luna had never seen a Rule Mirror, so she didn’t know what Gu Xi was talking about, but she said: ”Lord, this should be what’s affecting the special powers outside.”

As Luna spoke, Gu Xi’s hand touched the shattered mirror.

[Mirror of Magical Rules (White, Broken): This mirror can have up to three rules, both true and false written on it, influencing others through these rules. Until the rules are broken, others cannot discover the secrets within the rule’s range.]

[Rule 1: This ruin is ownerless (broken)]

[Rule 2: The ownership of this ruin is undecided (broken)]

[Rule 3: Those who enter this ruin from the front must leave from the side (broken)]

[Note: The Rule Mirror is broken and cannot be used again.]

Seeing the description in front of him, Gu Xi knew that this place was used for placing the Rule Mirror.

Those twisted mages used the Rule Mirror to occupy this place and claim it as their own territory.

They didn’t even plan to get the land title, just wanted to occupy it for free.

But they ran into Gu Xi, who not only forced them to give up the land but also lost their lives.

However, this also let Gu Xi discover something interesting—how the Rule Mirror could be used.

Gu Xi thought for a moment; didn’t he have a Rule Mirror as well?

Although his was of the mysterious type, different from this one used to hide the range of the ruin, the situation was the same.

Since the Mirror of Magical Rules was broken, Gu Xi simply took out his Mysterious Rule Mirror and replaced the shattered Mirror of Magical Rules.

As the Mysterious Rule Mirror was hung up, a ding sounded in Gu Xi’s ear.

[Do you want to activate the Mysterious Rule Mirror? Please set the range of influence and rules.]

Gu Xi glanced at the mirror, discovering that it showed a map view from above. He outlined the ruins’ range and began to write down three rules.

”First rule, the holder of the land title is the owner of this place.”

Saying this, Gu Xi also took out the land title for this place, presenting it in front of the mirror.

”Second rule, only with the owner’s approval can outsiders enter through the main gate. When the owner sees a guest off, the outsider must leave.”

”Third rule, those who enter this place without the owner’s consent are enemies and will die by the various means set by the owner. After death, their bodies and souls will merge into this place, becoming part of this place’s servants.”

As Gu Xi established the three rules, the Mysterious Rule Mirror fixed itself onto the wall.

Then Gu Xi felt a slight tremor in the ground nearby, as if something had merged into the earth.

However, the new rules had no impact on Gu Xi’s undead subordinates, who continued to transport various materials back to Yalidov City.

Soon the collapsed small building was cleared out, and even the ruins that had been used to deceive the public eye were entirely removed.

Luna, who kept an eye on the matter, floated over to Gu Xi.

”I’ve been watching all along, and we’ve transported back 35 units of stone, 29 units of wood, 4 units of metal, one corpse of a twisted mage, and three decorative paintings.

Oh, and we also dug up a large number of bones, including human ones, and some from large animals. Some of the bones even contain traces of magic power, and we’ve already transported them back to Yalidov.”

”Well done.”

At this point, Gu Xi could see that everything visible here had been carried away by the Skeleton Soldiers, leaving only a flat ground where the ruins once stood.

Even the flowers from the front garden were uprooted and taken away. Seeing this, Gu Xi couldn’t help but admire the attention to detail of the Skeleton Soldiers.

”You head back first. I’ll find someone to rebuild the small building in the next two days. Once it’s done, I’ll have you come back to place the Furnace Stone.”

”Sure, though lord, is two days enough?”

”Before coming here, I might have been concerned, but after arriving, I no longer worry. If there can be mages here, then other construction methods are also possible.”

Listening to Gu Xi, Luna also understood that there was some logic to it.

She didn’t say anything more, and directly followed the Skeleton Soldiers back through the city gate to Yalidov City.

There were still many matters waiting for Luna over there, at least the gains from this time needed organizing, and those corpses also required some arrangements.
