Undead Mage from a Cell

Chapter 65: Chapter 63: Conflict Upon Return

Qingfeng Domain, Lieyang Star, Bailian City.

In the White Disaster Trial Hall of the Nether Bone Wind Academy, a silver-white skeletal structure suspended in mid-air emitted a mechanical electronic voice.

”Graduation trial, job task, player 629SHD2S0FXC30 has exited from game world numbered 629SHD2S0FXC30, please take note.”

”Repeating again, graduation trial, job task, player 629SHD2S0FXC30...”

As the silver-white skeletal structure mechanically repeated, a man standing at the door of the White Disaster Trial Hall finally wobbled to his feet.

He was tall and thin, wearing a fitted and upright Zhongshan suit. After standing up, he immediately straightened his previously twisting posture, and walked quickly to a green pool in the middle of the White Disaster Trial Hall.

At this moment, an arm stretched out from the pool, and then Gu Xi, covered head to toe in green liquid, crawled out of the pool.

Standing by the pool, Gu Xi frantically wiped off the green liquid from his body while incessantly complaining.

”It didn’t feel like anything going in, but coming out all sticky like this, why can’t there be a better way to log out?”

The tall and thin man stood by the side watching Gu Xi, not urging him on.

Only after Gu Xi finished dealing with the green liquid on his body did he step forward.

”Player 629SHD2S0FXC30, Gu Xi? Have you successfully completed the Undead Mage job?”

”Yes, I did. Who are you?”

”I’m Li Xinghui from the Chaoyang Radiance Guild, a Level 5 Undead Mage. Our Chaoyang Radiance has acquired your draft rights, and you will serve Chaoyang Radiance for three years. We have priority renewal rights and external trading rights.

Of course, we will make a comprehensive investment in you, and we can guarantee to push you to the level of a Level 5 Undead Mage within three years.”

Having said this, Li Xinghui reached out a hand, ”From now on, we will be comrades in arms.”

Gu Xi had heard of such draft contracts after the trial ends, but he didn’t expect that his future was decided just like that.

Still reacting in confusion, Gu Xi extended his hand and shook hands with Li Xinghui.

”Alright then, let’s go get your graduation trial reward. Although the academy’s rewards aren’t that great, it’s still something.”

It was only then that Gu Xi came to his senses.

”Wait.”

Li Xinghui looked at Gu Xi with some puzzlement, ”What’s wrong?”

”Weren’t they supposed to have a grand award and graduation ceremony after the graduation trial? Why are we just taking the reward and leaving?”

”Award ceremony? Don’t you know your own level?”

At this moment, a black-robed Undead Mage with half of his face already skeletal, walked out from the other side of the White Disaster Trial Hall, surrounded by a thick ghostly flame and Yin Qi.

As he walked out, he reprimanded Gu Xi with an air of superiority.

”Just a job trial, takes a maximum of three days to complete, how long did you take? You stayed here for a full forty-six days, do you think everyone is as useless as you?

As for the graduation ceremony, it ended a month ago.

After all, you can’t make all the students wait for you to graduate, right? As for the awards, given the time you came out, you must have been in the bottom tier.

Better leave quickly, at least the Chaoyang Radiance Guild is still willing to wait for you; delay any longer, and no guild will want you.”

Gu Xi glanced back at Li Xinghui.

Li Xinghui said somewhat awkwardly, ”Our guild is ranked relatively low, it’s not easy to obtain draft rights, and every comrade is not to be given up easily. Rest assured, we are a professional Undead Guild.

Whether it’s an Undead Mage or a Death Knight, we have special training plans, even if you don’t have much potential, we can get you to Level 5.”

Gu Xi understood what was going on, ”Wait, aren’t you going to look at my results before deciding I’m no good?”

”What’s up, you took forty-six days just to complete the job, what more do you want? With that timeline, the score can’t be high.”

”I encountered some things in the game, which delayed me for a bit, but there was a benefit; I got a pretty good starting skill.”

Gu Xi was also somewhat annoyed; what did this mean?

His graduation results directly excluded him from consideration for awards? And what about all the hard work he put in for those days?

”Pretty good starting skill? How good can it be? Let me tell you, among this batch of graduates, someone took the Undead Mage job and got the Soul Hunter skill. As an academy student, you should know the significance of the Soul Hunter skill.

Think about it seriously, can you really surpass the Soul Hunter skill?

Can you?”

[Soul Hunter: In battle, whenever a group of enemy troops is wiped out, a group of ghosts will be automatically summoned at its location to assist the Hero in battle. The number of summoned ghosts is equal to the hero’s level, limited by the original number of troops.]

The Soul Hunter skill can be said to be a powerful passive skill in campaigns.

Although it can only be triggered when enemy combat squads are annihilated, its effect is quite remarkable. No need for the Undead Mage to use any summoning skill, it can directly replenish the Ghost Corps in battle.

With such a skill, this Undead Mage becomes quite valuable in large campaigns.

Even at higher levels, it can become a manpower supplement for the legion.

However, the Undead Mage in front of him didn’t expect that when Gu Xi heard this, he confidently said.

”I can.”

”What did you say?”

The Undead Mage looked at Gu Xi with some confusion.

”I said I can surpass the Soul Hunter skill.”

Gu Xi stated each word deliberately.

Upon hearing this, the Undead Mage laughed, ”Are you kidding, go quickly, if you keep making a fuss, believe it or not, I’ll directly withhold your graduation rewards, even revoke your diploma...”

The Undead Mage trailed off, unable to finish because he saw a phantom of a city gate appearing behind Gu Xi.

As an Undead Mage, he naturally understood what this gate represented.

”De...Death City?”

”That’s right, Death City. Are you saying spending forty-six days completing a series of tasks to acquire the Death City skill was a wrong choice?”

”No, it wasn’t.”

Every Undead Mage knows that encountering the Undead’s Three Divine Skills, one must find a way to obtain it. It’s worth it, even if it takes a year, Gu Xi stands to gain.

If other teachers from the Netherwind Academy, even the principal, knew about Gu Xi’s case, they would only praise his choice and award him the first prize among graduates of this session.

But the current situation is somewhat unusual.

Feeling a bit troubled, the Undead Mage looked at Gu Xi and decisively said something.
