Undead Mage from a Cell

Chapter 83: Chapter 81: Chen Gu’s Plan

However, all of this pales in comparison to the effect triggered by the regional linkage.

When Gu Xi noticed the changes at the wharf, he also noticed a not-so-small whirlpool appearing on the river’s surface.

The whirlpool was about the size that could allow a sailboat to pass through, and Gu Xi could clearly feel it contracting and expanding, as if something was being expelled from within.

This situation even affected the three piers, and right in front of Gu Xi, there was information about such whirlpools.

[Ghost Realm Pier District: A ghost realm formed by evil and eerie docks. Every week, when ships enter and leave the piers, some corpses will emerge from the whirlpool, with a minimum of 1 and no maximum limit.]

[Note 1: All corpses can be salvaged and directly utilized.]

[Note 2: All corpses are not limited to humans and can also be of other races or creatures.]

Reading this information, Gu Xi blinked. He remembered hearing in a class that when sailing at sea, one might encounter some whirlpools. If you are willing to sacrifice some soldiers, the whirlpool can safely transport the ship to another location.

Could these corpses coming out of the whirlpool be the sacrifices thrown in by those ships passing through the whirlpool?

If that’s truly the case, the role of this Ghost Realm Pier District is quite significant.

Whether handling various affairs of the wharf or salvaging the weekly corpses from the river, Gu Xi had to assign someone here to keep an eye on things.

With that in mind, Gu Xi looked at Luna, then shook his head.

Luna, as the manager of Yalidov, couldn’t possibly keep watch here all the time.

As for Shaya, who is currently in Victoria City monitoring the situation, she can’t handle it either.

The three bosses under Gu Xi’s command are also unsuitable to stay here, as they simply cannot compare to the Contracted Undead under Gu Xi’s command.

This made Gu Xi quite troubled.

He can’t possibly time everything himself and handle this every time, can he?

At this moment, Luna also drifted over.

”Master, the foundations for the two core buildings over there have been laid. We only need to input sufficient resources to build these two core buildings.”

Gu Xi temporarily put aside this issue and turned his gaze to the place Luna indicated.

The positions of the two core buildings were actually about twenty meters away from the three piers.

It’s just about the distance where a person would walk off the pier, cross a street, and arrive at these two core buildings.

”Let’s build them first. After all, weren’t you saying these two core buildings are fixed?”

”Yes, their roles are already fixed. Even if we wanted to change, we couldn’t.”

As Luna spoke, Gu Xi suddenly thought of something.

”Luna, do all core buildings have corresponding personnel stationed permanently?”

”That’s correct.”

With Luna’s confirmation, Gu Xi hurriedly began to draw a map of the pier district on the ground.

”Luna, look. The surface area of the pier district is only 0.4 square kilometers, and the river surface should be the area where construction isn’t possible.

These three locations are the three piers. Because of the pier district’s terrain, the three piers are relatively close to each other.

Since the piers are close together, the walkways have to connect them, and these two positions are left for the core buildings.

Look here, can we build a path to link the three piers with the two core buildings?”

”You mean you want to include these two core buildings in the regional linkage?”

Looking at the map Gu Xi drew, Luna did not hesitate and asked directly.

”That’s right, that’s exactly what I mean. Here are the three piers, and along with the Wharf Warehouse and Wharf Market, why can’t we make it a linked region?”

Luna nodded, ”That should be possible, but we’ll need to move the Wharf Warehouse and Wharf Market locations closer, and then build the walkway. Doing so will require more resources.”

”Invest now, just invest. Anyway, we’re still short on mercury for the Longgu Laboratory, and the other buildings don’t need investment. Use all the resources here.”

Gu Xi decisively waved his hand.

”I understand, sir. I’ll take care of it.”

”Alright, then I’ll leave this matter to you. Also, apart from the Skeleton Shooter and the Bone-Slaying Camp, have the other skeleton troops station around here temporarily. If you need anything, just have them handle it.”

While speaking, Gu Xi gestured to the Death Incarnation.

The Death Incarnation lightly landed in front of Gu Xi.

Placing his hand on the Death Incarnation, Gu Xi checked its status again.

Gu Xi had witnessed the battle between the Death Incarnation and the Deceitful Shadow.

He was always surprised that the Death Incarnation could absorb the Deceitful Shadow, but he couldn’t figure out how it happened.

Moreover, among the Three Divine Skills, each Death Incarnation is different, and Gu Xi’s kind of bone dragon-like Death Incarnation is relatively rare; he couldn’t find anyone to ask about it.

At this point, Gu Xi could only rely on his own methods to study the Death Incarnation.

Fortunately, Gu Xi’s Undead Knowledge and Magic Knowledge were already somewhat advanced.

He noticed that within the black mist on the Death Incarnation’s body, there were fragments of the Deceitful Shadow’s Soul.

These soul fragments still had some activity.

This reminded Gu Xi of the black robe cultists he saw outside the mirror before entering Yalidov.

These guys stood motionlessly in front of the mirror as if they had lost their souls and only reacted when attacked.

Could the Deceitful Shadow’s soul come from them?

With this line of thought, Gu Xi determined the direction of his investigation and soon discovered more information within these souls.

And regarding the Death Incarnation’s flying status and the ability to absorb the Deceitful Shadow’s power, Gu Xi gained further insight.

It turns out Gu Xi’s Death Incarnation looked like a bone dragon, but in fact, it was the Death God of the Victoria Magic Realm.

The reason it appeared as a bone dragon externally was entirely related to the Silver Dragon Attributes on the Invisibility Cloak.

Thus, the bones of the Death Incarnation’s bone dragon were metallic, representing the identity of a Metal Dragon.

But actually, the essence of the Death Incarnation is found in the fairy tales of the Victoria Magic Realm; its skills are of a similar nature.

Transforming into black mist for flying, destroying everything nearby while flying, and absorbing the Deceitful Shadow Life Force are all hidden traits and combat styles belonging to the Magic Realm’s Death God.

The Deceitful Shadow’s origin was the cultists from Victoria City, utilizing the traits of the Magic Realm’s Death God to absorb the life force of these Deceitful Shadows to strengthen oneself is quite reasonable.

Understanding this point, Gu Xi no longer concerned himself with the matter. As long as the Death Incarnation wasn’t malfunctioning, it was all fine.

As for any impacts, Gu Xi didn’t care at all. He wished his Death Incarnation’s combat power would grow stronger.

Having cleared up this matter, Gu Xi relaxed and, with Luna off to build the two core buildings at the pier district, Gu Xi had some free time. He planned to visit the library for a bit.
