Counterfeit Hero

Chapter 450: Revised: Volume 5 Chapter 56 Hunter and Prey

”Sharp Blade Camp!” After a long wait, Fatty’s voice finally came through the communication channel: ”Engage in combat immediately, penetrate to coordinates X-4102, Y-13110, and launch an attack on the designated coordinates within ten minutes after breaking through the defenses! Ignore everything else, there is a group behind you cleaning up, speed is crucial, we only have this one chance!”

”Understood!” The Sharp Blade Camp had been waiting for this order. With a synchronized shout, over a thousand mechas charged toward the left flank of the battlefield! On the mechanical computer of every warrior’s mecha, a route map appeared. On this map, among the countless enemy units crisscrossing, there was a narrow and winding gap!

”Flank defense!” With a shrill scream, the Fourth Group of the 175th Division of the Reinhardt Group, which was attacking the Freedom Front Mecha Group with a Trident-style offensive, suddenly discovered that from the distant hills, a Leray Mecha Forces had descended thunderously, aiming straight at the flank of their mecha group.

Everyone in the Fourth Group was stunned! Where did this armored force come from? Amid the frantic shouts of the lower-level commanders, the flank mechas quickly turned inward, desperately trying to regroup!

But there was no time; while the Rhine Army mecha warriors were still in chaos like a flock of sheep, the high-speed Leray Mecha Camp had already plunged into their flank. The fierce attack was like a hot knife cutting into butter, unstoppable!

Several medium-sized [Three-headed Dogs] on the flank tried to rely on their heavy armor and powerful firepower to curb the advance of the Leray vanguard, but the next scene made everyone’s souls fly away.

The vanguard of the Leray Mecha Camp, consisting of a hundred Special Type mechas, dodged the enemy’s fire with rapid movements. Their wave-like mutual cover made the firepower pouring onto them ineffective. Their speed was too fast, like a lightning bolt, exploding in a blink of an eye!

The first [Three-headed Dog] became the first sacrifice, a sacrifice that made everyone’s scalp tingle!

In the barrage from the [Three-headed Dog], an assassin-type mech executed a textbook-like precise jumping maneuver, changing direction swiftly and passing by its side, slicing through its body with an ion dagger without stopping.

The [Three-headed Dog]’s firepower stopped immediately, the mech emitted a creaking sound, as if it had suddenly aged hundreds of years, standing still and motionless. Following it were second and third Leray mechas passing by... The unfortunate [Three-headed Dog] was cut, stripped, and dismembered like a wall of earth in a flood!

When there was nothing left of the [Three-headed Dog] but a cockpit, it was thrown up and then blasted into a spread of blood and fragments under a dense fire!

This was a demonstration, a naked demonstration! Among the four [Three-headed Dogs] attempting to intercept, two were crushed in the same manner, while the other two were instantly killed by the overwhelming firepower of six Heavy [Anger] on the flank of the Leray Mecha Camp!

”Kill!” The Leray Mecha Camp stabbed fiercely into the belly of the Fourth Group of the 175th Armored Division, stirring up a chaotic bloodbath within the terrified and panicked mecha group!

As the Sharp Blade Camp aggressively rolled into the flank of the Fourth Group of the 175th Division, Rashid’s First Group and Stewart’s Second Group also received the route map sent by Fatty.

Immediately, Stewart ordered the Fierce Tiger Special Soldiers to converge quickly on the First Group. A few minutes later, the Rhine Army, which had been trying to stab through the formations of these two groups, found that the two Leray Mecha Groups had split into three routes in high-speed mutual movements, cutting into several Rhine armored streams and launching direct attacks towards the south.

The counterattack route was right where the joint between the newly reinforced 96th Division’s First Group and the two remaining camps of the exasperated 175th Division in the middle. Exhausted, the two camps of the 175th Division never expected the enemy to launch such a fierce counterattack at this time and hurried to shrink their positions!

They couldn’t understand; why did the advance routes of these two Leray armored groups completely bypass the advantageous terrain they had previously guarded? Were they seeking death or gambling their lives? What were the Leray people trying to do?

The Third Group of the Nineteen Division, which had been behind the First and Second Groups, quickly advanced under Jiasier’s command, cutting into the right wing of the First and Second Groups. The powerful firepower was finally put to full use, cutting the Rhine Army attempting to encircle into two halves!

”What’s going on?” Watching the battlefield situation evolve from south to north into east to west and seeing the Leray armored forces leave their infantry defense line and slaughter into the right wing of their attacking forces, several division commanders in the command vehicles issued the same exclamation.

”At any cost, seal off their southward path!”

”Immediately launch a wide-ranging encirclement to cut off their connection with the defense line!”

”Shrink the defense!”

Three divisions spread across nearly ten groups on the battlefield issued completely different orders. The entire battlefield was thrown into chaos due to the unusual actions of the Leray Armored Division. Each unit was searching for its position and hesitating on the response plan.

Amid this chaos, the Leray Armored Division had already formed a pincer offensive and began their most resolute advance along the fleeting route!

The Sharp Blade Camp, well-prepared, finally unleashed its full power. This unit, intentionally kept in a cage by Fatty, released its fierce bite at this moment. The Fourth Group of the 175th Division, caught off guard, quickly collapsed under this ferocious steel torrent.

Next to be pierced was the left rear of the 96th Division’s Second Group. This second-rate armored group didn’t even realize where the berserk Leray Armored Camp had emerged from when the Leray forces penetrated their weak right wing! Some warriors even thought the Leray forces had been driven out by the divided Fourth Group of the 175th Division and were fleeing southwest in a panic!

But soon, these warriors lost interest in guessing further, because, in front of them, appeared two surging Leray Armored Groups!

At the moment when the Sharp Blade Camp pierced the right wing of the 96th Division’s Second Group, the front left of the Second Group, the 96th Division’s First Group, was also penetrated. The two groups of the Leray Armored Division, with irresistible power, swept away all enemies blocking their path into oblivion. Their Single Soldier Mecha led the way, once the mechas got close, there was no escape! The heavy mechas guarding the wings of the triangular assault formation were like grim reapers, leaving only burning mecha wreckage in their wake with their savage firepower!

Although they had long understood the ferocity of this Leray Armored Division, no one expected their ferocity to be so extreme! The right wing of the Rhine Army fell into complete chaos; they could neither stop the Leray people’s assault nor receive clear commands! Everything happened too fast, so fast that they didn’t even understand what had happened!

Did the Leray people break through? Or did something significant happen? Why were they running southwest? Why couldn’t the allied forces stop them?

Some sharp-minded warriors had a glimmer of doubt in their minds. Southwest, apart from the attack position and the Reinhardt guarded by two [Vajra] camps, what else was there?

Could it be... Oh god, these Leray madmen!

Leaving behind the 96th Division’s Second Group, the Sharp Blade Camp sprinted ahead! The closest enemy to them, besides those behind them, was a Rhine Armored Group just five kilometers to the right that had just joined the battlefield!

But in front of them, there was nothing!

When Reinhardt saw the Leray Armored Camp driving new-type mechas appear in front of him, it was as if his eyes had been suddenly stabbed by sunlight! He couldn’t understand why, under the pressure of two divisions’ attacks, the Leray people appeared here!

Moreover, at this specific time, could this all be just a coincidence?

Now, precisely when the attack position was empty, with nothing left but busy logistics soldiers and dozens of injured mechas yet to be transferred after the new armored group launched the attack! The follow-up troops were still gathering behind!

Reinhardt laughed angrily yet coldly; he couldn’t comprehend that he would someday become a prey! Even more incomprehensible was who on this planet had the qualification to hunt [Apollo]!

Just relying on this one camp of new Leray mechas... Or perhaps, plus the two armored groups behind them blocking the Rhine Army’s encirclement?

Reinhardt issued no orders, he just watched coldly, exuding a chilling aura! The regional communication channel of the Mythical Army was dead silent.

Finally, the two [Vajra] camps, overwhelmed with fury, moved forward to confront! When had the Mythical Army ever been so despised?
