Counterfeit Hero

Chapter 406: Revised: Volume 5, Chapter 27, Mecha Modification

When Fatty flipped countless masters and challenged the tenth-ranked player, his hand speed had already reached seventy-three movements per second. Such hand speed, combined with the enhanced combat power from Mecha Martial Arts, was unimaginable.

In the challenges so far, not a single person could pose even the slightest threat to him. Those Mecha Masters, who were regarded as top-tier in the eyes of regular players, couldn’t withstand the attacks from [Magic Beast] for even ten minutes!

What kind of terrifying strength is this?

Immersed in the ecstatic joy of his skyrocketing hand speed, Fatty did not realize that the storm he stirred throughout his challenges had already shaken millions of Sky-Filling Fire players across human society.

Everyone could only watch in disbelief as SM01314, the most notorious figure from a year and a half ago, re-entered the virtual war network. Not only had he not fallen behind, but he also, using a gradually upgraded [Magic Beast], challenged and defeated the top-tier Mecha warriors one step at a time.

All eyes were glued to this [Magic Beast], and no one knew who was inside it, nor where his steps would be halted.

The appearance of this person had completely shattered the current structure of Mecha Fighting. All the different schools of thought and masters, who had always had victories and defeats, were utterly defeated in front of this [Magic Beast], which had a bizarre and sinister fighting style. It was like a tank crushing through a flock of chickens, pulverizing all traditional fighting techniques!

As the challenges gradually escalated, with close attention and extensive coverage by the media of various countries, more and more people flocked to Sky-Filling Fire. The sudden emergence of [Magic Beast] excited everyone immensely. In the world of Mecha, this was a legend.

This legend also caught the attention of governments and military forces worldwide, especially the war-engaged nations of the Western Alliance and the Fei Alliance.

In the minds of various nations, this newly emerged powerhouse was not just a gamer but a national treasure-level warrior. It’s known that the top twenty thousand players in Sky-Filling Fire have had their data specially compiled by each country, with their information locked in military department archives. Military personnel among them are immediately promoted and specially trained as reserve talents, while civilian masters are recruited with high salaries and positions.

From this background, it’s not hard to imagine what a Mecha warrior who could easily unseat masters outside the top ten means to a warring nation, even a pig could figure that out.

It signifies deterrence, overall combat power level, extremely high morale, and rapid growth of reserve forces!

As a result, the [Magic Beast] first spotted in the Leray Federation became the target of intelligence agencies in various countries. Upon determining a ninety percent chance that this mysterious individual was a Leray person, nations quickly took action. The countries of the Fei Alliance aimed to recruit him, while Western Alliance countries were determined to destroy him if recruitment failed.

However, what baffled everyone was that despite possessing such formidable strength, the guy never revealed his true identity and remained completely indifferent to all temptations and recruitment efforts.

With a mysterious identity, super-strong combat power, and one victory after another, [Magic Beast] became an enchanting storm that turned the online world and the Mecha Fighting world upside down.

With articles like Magic Beast Battle Data Statistics, Natural Fighter, Magic Beast Warrior Identity Scan, Disruptive Fighting, Thirty Years Later, Looking at the Magic Beast Mecha, Different Tactics in One Hundred Battles of Warcraft, Groin Kick Technique, and Study of Double Dragon Pearl, players, mechanics, and fighting experts analyzed from various perspectives, trying to uncover the secrets of [Magic Beast]’s power.

The Second-generation Mecha produced by the Leray Federation thirty years ago became a trend again, with many private Mecha companies launching improved versions of these declassified antique Mecha. People took pride in buying and collecting a [Magic Beast], and some enthusiasts went to great lengths to acquire the remaining dozen or so Magic Beast III Mechas still in service in the Leray Federation.

Apart from the Mechas, people devoted more energy to analyzing those shocking battles.

Unlike real combat, the online world has a wealth of data that can be collected. However, when experts extracted and analyzed the battle data of [Magic Beast], they were even more astonished.

When [Magic Beast] defeated the fifteenth-ranked player, it appeared behind the opponent with a ghostly move after evading a three-step wolf strike and destroyed the opponent’s Mecha with a single punch. The data analysis of this series of moves first made all the experts involved in the analysis unable to believe their eyes.

At that moment, when the opponent launched a charge punch, [Magic Beast] was just mid-air backflipping and hadn’t landed yet. By backtracking the Mecha’s movements to the operator’s hand speed through repeated and precise calculations, the experts concluded that to complete such a move in that instant, the hand speed had to be sixty movements per second!

Sixty movements per second, while shocking, wasn’t particularly surprising since about a dozen people worldwide could reach that level. However, destroying a Seventh-generation [Heavenly Patrol] with a single punch? More precisely, in that instant, delivering multiple sufficient cumulative damage outputs to the same spot to make the opponent collapse!
