Counterfeit Hero

Chapter 424: Volume 5, Chapter 34: Conflict

”Let me continue General Tian’s remarks.” Douglas scanned everyone present with a confident and sharp gaze: ”Earlier, General Tian talked about annihilating the core components of the enemy’s military group, using that as an opportunity to launch a powerful offensive, forcing the enemy into a complete retreat. No matter how immature the previous plan was, at least, I believe this point is correct!”

As soon as these words were spoken, the meeting room buzzed with whispers and stifled laughter.

Everyone knew that Feiyang was one of only two superpowers in human society. Over the years, in interstellar conflicts, Feiyang played the role of the Judger, and its army was virtually invincible.

From a military standpoint, no one dared to question Feiyang; to even think about questioning, one must first consider Hastings, the Feiyang Army University, Feiyang First Military Academy, and its elite eleven super ace Armored Divisions.

However, Douglas was a bit too harsh, implying that everything said was immature, except for this one correct point. Oh, so after all those words, only this sentence is right?

Sigh, who knows where Fatty’s face will go! Everyone secretly glanced at Fatty.

Damn, stop looking. Fatty’s more comfortable than a panda sunbathing and munching bamboo while watching beauties—such thick skin!

”In fact, before coming here, the Expeditionary Army Combat Department’s research room had already formulated a complete plan that was endorsed by Commander Fiscella.”

Douglas seemed completely unaware of the buzzing division commanders below, directly pointing at the interstellar map: ”Everyone, please look. Currently, the Stephen Group’s actual control areas are mainly distributed east of Tanville, south in most regions, and throughout Mezrich, most regional army units are actually dependent. This dependency is due to the strength and interest distribution between Stephen and the Howard family in this region.”

Everyone nodded secretly; no one knew Gazalin’s influence division better than those present. It seems that the new appointed theater commander had made an effort in understanding Gazalin’s situation.

”This dependency is not solid. The major military regions affiliated with Stephen are either coerced by the situation or have some interest-distribution agreement with the Stephen Group, while in their actual control areas, they possess high autonomy.”

”What does this mean? Although most of these military regions consist of low-combat-effectiveness Mechanized Infantry Divisions, it also reveals Stephen’s lack of capacity to completely control these units; he can only adopt a conciliatory strategy.”

”And within Stephen’s entire control area, besides these fence-sitters, several forces remain independent; they have not aligned with Stephen, and some have always been in opposition. The growing resistance movement in ethnic gathering areas today is precisely why Stephen readily agreed to Reinhardt’s temporary ceasefire: he needs to free his hand to eliminate forces affecting control area governance and prevent the situation from worsening.”

”From the intelligence we’ve gathered so far, Stephen’s main forces are concentrated near Tanville, maintaining necessary precautions against Reinhardt and military pressure on us. Many main Armored Divisions have secretly started retreating to the rear. Meanwhile...”

Douglas soared with eagle-like vision, resolutely stating: ”This is our best chance to annihilate their main forces! As long as we can swiftly wipe out the enemy’s frontline main forces, execute a heavy breakthrough east from Tanville, their rear won’t just be unextinguished but will burn even further, while those redeployed units won’t be able to regroup quickly, only becoming a wave in the massive retreat!”

Everyone’s eyes brightened; from the troops distribution and Stephen Group’s internal composition, this plan clearly has substantial maneuverability. Under Douglas’s analysis, everyone felt a sense of enlightenment.

”So, what about our military deployment?” An Independent Army division commander asked impatiently.

”Ten Armored Divisions will break through east of Tanville from the Migratory Plain and south of Difak City, followed by twenty Infantry Divisions, executing a pincer assault, concluding southeast in Opale City, with a total troop input of 510,000 men, estimated combat duration of ten days. Through Longshu... Jiacuo... Fulan Fortress... totaling a shift through eleven cities, the straight-line distance from operation launch to end—2,600 kilometers.”

”......”

The meeting room fell silent. The voice giving the response wasn’t Douglas’s. Everyone stared dumbfounded at Fatty, hearing him leisurely say: ”Did I say it right, General Douglas?”

”Buzz!” The combat meeting room buzzed like a swarm of bees exploded.

And Douglas, was completely dazed; Fatty’s words caught him off guard. This plan wasn’t shared with anyone present.

Yet this Fatty before him recounted it flawlessly!

What’s going on? Douglas’s face, full of doubt, gazed at the crowd’s questioning eyes, finally swallowing hard, slowly saying: ”That’s correct, but... how did you...”

Hearing Douglas’s acknowledgment, the hall of officers erupted with shock, disbelief that Fatty’s words were entirely accurate.
