Counterfeit Hero

Chapter 435: Volume 5 Chapter 42 On the Brink

”We’ve hit the jackpot this time!” Fatty grinned widely, looking at the [Divine] mechanical blueprint in front of him, chuckling foolishly.

Just thinking about how the Feiyang Republic has only managed to equip a few elite special forces with the [Divine] Mecha, and now having the mechanical diagrams, electronic schematics, structural diagrams, detailed equipment blueprints, and all the data in his hands, Fatty could fall to the ground and roll in excitement.

As a mechanic who had once been involved in the design and research of Mechas in a military laboratory, Fatty knew that if Leray relied on its own technological capabilities to enhance the comprehensive design and manufacturing level of Mechas to the tenth generation, it would take at least ten years! Just thinking about the manpower and resources invested in this makes one’s heartache.

And [Divine], even in Fatty’s school days, was the ultimate dream of every Mecha enthusiast.

In fact, this tenth generation Mecha was a technological achievement of the Feiyang Republic fifteen years ago, disclosed ten years ago, and after several years of testing, enhancement, and technical reserve, it was officially commissioned three years ago. Due to its high cost, the initial purchase by the Feiyang military was less than forty thousand units.

Fatty still remembered a classmate holding a Mecha magazine featuring [Divine], drooling and eyes shining with dreams right in front of him.

The research and manufacturing of [Divine] was a massive undertaking in Feiyang Republic’s armament, with investments equivalent to the annual GDP of some small countries! The agencies and personnel involved in its design and parts manufacturing numbered in the tens of thousands, amounting to hundreds of thousands of people. At that time, such an ultimate Mecha was unreachable in the eyes of all Leray people.

Creating something out of thin air is certainly difficult, but stealing it requires only a few minutes! How could Fatty not laugh? This theft brought in so much hard work, so much time, so many investments?

If you could convert the efforts of tens of thousands of agencies and individuals into money, along with the countless invested funds piled together, how much could you take?

But now, all of this was in his own hands, the feeling was truly so thrilling it made one tremble with excitement.

The highest achievement of being a thief could not surpass this!

Even if Leray couldn’t manufacture such Mechas immediately, for Fatty’s current [Logic] modification, the role of this [Divine] mechanical blueprint was enormous.

[Logic], perhaps the most unique Mecha of this era, with the use of Biological Dual State Metal, not only granted [Logic] the ability to transform but also, more importantly, endowed [Logic] with almost unlimited growth potential! As long as there are data and blueprints, [Logic] can undergo modifications including its overall structure!

Driving the [Logic] into a closed Mecha repair workshop belonging to Nineteen Division’s camp, Fatty couldn’t wait to dive right in. He left all other matters to Bonnie, who was more like a division commander than him, and spent his days circling [Logic] with the little kid.

This [Magic Beast] was the division commander’s treasure, and everyone in the Nineteen Division knew it, but they never imagined it could be treasured to this extent.

The entire workshop was completely sealed off, with only Fatty tinkering away inside each day, and the endless materials list he issued truly encapsulated the Mecha’s extravagance.

To gather these materials of varying specifications, two entire Mecha maintenance squadrons in Nineteen Division worked around the clock non-stop. The engines dismantled, Mecha parts, external armor plates, and various electronic equipment were enough to arm a platoon!

And those unheard-of processed parts scrapped countless expensive alloys!

Of course, the soldiers weren’t too heartbroken either. Among these materials, besides the Independent Army’s previous inventory, there were spoils from the Tedanici Base scavenged in the past. If truly unavailable, they would ask the Feiyang people! After all, Nineteen Division was now the special combat department in the Mezrich Battlefield!

During Fatty’s modification of [Logic], the mass production of mini escape Mechas was also completed and began to be equipped in the Nineteen Division. The entire battlefield was also vigorously preparing for the attack on Stephen Group.

At nightfall, all land-based fighters were deployed, patrolling the skies, while medium transport ships loaded with various equipment landed in Prisk under the cover of night.

Prisk had already become a giant military camp, with warriors of different nations, beliefs, and skin colors gathering in this city, wearing various military uniforms. There were veterans just withdrawn from the frontlines still reeking of gunpowder, fresh recruits whose uniforms hadn’t even been washed, and even the motley clothed soldiers of the Freedom Front.

Military flying cars sped down the streets, their red taillights blinking, leaving trails of light vanishing quickly around corners. Along the heavy vehicle lanes on both sides of the street, heavy freight trucks drove slowly one after another. In front of each military camp gate, such trucks lined up in long queues, unloading countless supplies from the trucks. Weapons, ammunition, Mecha parts, and other materials were piled up like mountains.

The atmosphere in the camps grew increasingly tense as the level of combat readiness rose step by step. Ordinary soldiers and junior officers didn’t know when they’d go to battle or where they would be deployed. They only saw the alert level lights deepen in color day by day.

And the base training did not slacken due to the combat readiness. In the training grounds, the scene was still bustling and lively, the sound of countless boots stomping on the ground, and the instructors’ loud shouts were as resonant as ever.
