Counterfeit Hero

Chapter 423: Revised: Volume 5 Chapter 33 Tactical Seminar_2

Just taking advantage of the situation, there’s no way to do it like this; everyone present felt a bit embarrassed.

Especially some division commanders who recalled this morning. Fatty was wearing a brand-new Major General uniform, pacing back and forth, smiling and saluting the guards, making them feel quite a headache.

Douglas smiled slightly and made a gesture to continue.

The atmosphere was a bit strange. Fatty looked left and right, and exchanged several glances with Douglas, but Douglas dodged them all. Fatty had no choice but to continue saying, ”I really can’t think of a way to swallow twenty armored divisions and nearly a hundred mechanized infantry divisions in one go.”

It was still silent.

”Based on the above judgments, my idea is to concentrate our forces, annihilate the main force of the Stephen Group, and completely destroy the structural backbone of the group. Within two weeks, achieve the tactical objective of killing its leading group or annihilating the majority or all of its core troops, thereby achieving our strategic intent of destroying the Stephen Group.”

This clear and concise battle strategy caused a buzz of whispers in the conference room.

Many division commanders nodded silently, agreeing with the campaign direction proposed by Fatty. In this conference room, nearly no one was confident enough to annihilate an enemy three times stronger than themselves within two weeks.

One must know that the forces held by Stephen are mostly elite units that have survived hundreds of battles on the Lucerne front lines. Even though they were also facing severe material scarcity in Gazalin, their combat effectiveness is something nobody knew better than the former colleagues present here.

Moreover, the current chaos is centered in Tanville, while some small cities within the three major spheres of influence still have some production capacity. The Resource Planet controlled by the fleets from Little Pyrenees has not completely ceased resource extraction.

Seeing the expressions of these people, Douglas slightly frowned, deeply disdainful of the level of the senior officers he was about to lead.

”Everyone can look at the current distribution map of our forces.” Fatty pointed his laser pen at the virtual map: ”According to the information collected by SkyNet, the Stephen Group and Reinhardt Group have gradually disengaged from each other. Recently, the degree of attacks on our actual occupation zone in northern Tanville has significantly intensified.”

”From the information fed back from the front lines and our SkyNet monitoring, currently the core of the Stephen Group consists of the 39th, 58th, 103rd, and 108th Armored Divisions. These four divisions are Stephen’s absolute main force gathered back to Tanville from the Lucerne battleground to initiate rebellion. Currently, most of the 58th Division is confirmed to be in the southwestern part of Tanville, confronting the Reinhardt Group.”

Fatty used his laser pen to draw two small circles on the virtual map, then continued: ”The original 103rd Armored Division and 108th Armored Division are in Difak City, less than two hundred kilometers north of our defense line. That place has recently been the bridgehead for Stephen Group’s northern attacks on our control zone.”

”As for the 39th Division, we still haven’t received any news about them so far. Based on recent contact records, this division took over the attacks initiated by the 103rd Armored Division against our forces in northeastern Tanville three weeks ago for a week. Later, due to our retreat in the combat area, they disengaged. Filling our retreat area are Stephen’s Sixty-second Infantry Division and Twenty-second Armored Division.”

”Hence, the 39th Division is most likely somewhere east of Tanville, between the 103rd, 108th, and 58th Divisions. Stephen’s headquarters should be in the same location!”

Fatty’s analysis was clear and orderly, but Douglas was somewhat impatient. He asked in a deep voice, ”General Tian, according to your plan, what should we do? Disperse our forces?” He looked at the markings on the virtual map and said, ”Two in the north, one in the southwest, and one is unknown. How can we achieve the goal of annihilating these divisions simultaneously?”

Fatty said, ”My plan is to continue searching for the whereabouts of the 39th Division and determine Stephen’s headquarters location through various intelligence networks. Then, concentrate ground-based and air-based fighters carrying out a comprehensive strike, destroy their air defense systems, clear the advance passages, and conduct rapid airborne strikes. The scale of the airborne... requires two elite armored divisions! Meanwhile, in the peripheral areas...”

The laser pen pointed at several points in Stephen’s control area: ”Here, here, and here, initiate sudden interpenetration at the junctions of these enemy defense zones. Utilizing concentrated combat power to break in, cooperating with the airborne troops blooming in the center, swiftly complete the destruction of their headquarters.”

As soon as Fatty finished speaking, Douglas shook his head, saying, ”General Tian, I disagree with your proposal. In war, the most important thing is to seize the initiative. But this plan does not allow us to achieve that.”

He looked around and said to everyone, ”First, we are unsure when we can obtain Stephen’s headquarters’ location. Second, to concentrate and complete the airborne deployment of two armored divisions in a short time requires using giant transport ships. If the Air Force fails to escort or open the delivery passages, we will be forced to halt. As an army commander, I won’t overly rely on fleet strength.”

Fatty shrugged and said, ”Then there’s only another plan...” He circled several places on the map with his laser pen, including the northern Difak and the two small cities near Tanville Battlefield in the east: ”If we can’t conduct direct strikes against the headquarters, our second option is to destroy Stephen’s core forces. My plan is... In these few places, initiate unlimited harassment, primarily looting materials and illogical military actions. Moreover, encircle the 103rd and 108th Divisions heavily stationed in Fadik, creating the posture to swallow these two main force divisions whole and make a tactical feint of cutting off contact from south of Fadik to the east, forcing the enemy’s 39th Division to emerge, and then annihilate it in one strike.”

Putting down the laser pen, Fatty clapped his hands and said, ”The gist of the plan is these. As long as Stephen’s most elite main forces are three-quarters gone, we will win the subsequent battles.”

While everyone was still pondering, Douglas stood up and clapped, saying, ”General Tian, you finally got to the point, but your plan is still immature. We cannot focus our target on merely a 39th Division.”

”Goddamn it, I’ve tolerated you long enough!” Fatty cursed inwardly, suddenly feeling that Douglas was annoyingly pretentious: ”If you have a plan, just say it directly, why make me talk so much!” He rolled his eyes and said, ”General Douglas, just be straightforward, show us your mature plan, let everyone appreciate it.”

Douglas didn’t catch the hidden meaning in Fatty’s words. He nodded very smugly, walked to the virtual map. Seeing him ready to ”show something”, the rough neck commanders rolling in the dirty crowd blushed furiously.
