Chapter 430: Volume 5 Chapter 38 Spherical Attack

As [Hunter] seemed to crumble under the collective assault of [Divine], an unexpected change occurred, leaving the watching soldiers in an uproar! After the tremendous noise, silence fell once more as everyone was astonished by the bizarre coordination of [Hunter]!

This is definitely a trap!

Quick-thinking soldiers immediately looked up at the time display on the light screen; there were four minutes left before the fifteen-minute competition ended! The despicable intention of the Leray people was laid bare!

From the beginning, they had planned to play for a one-to-zero victory!

Newson, who had been sitting steadily nearby, suddenly stood up, anger surged within him, and he glared at Fatty fiercely, then turned and loudly ordered, ”Attack! Break through forcefully!”

”Beep!” A crisp alert sounded, the light screen displayed that the [Divine] trapped in the Leray formation had already been destroyed without suspense during the siege! Immediately, another uproar burst out around the training ground.

The remaining [Divine] warriors were instantly filled with rage. However, faced with the sudden change, they did not panic; instead, they pressed their assault formation forward neatly and launched a wave-like attack.

There were only nine Mechas, yet they seemed like thousands upon thousands. The wild torrent of assaults clashed against the [Hunter]’s defense line, attempting to tear it apart!

But now, the seemingly defenseless [Hunter] finally revealed their fierce nature. These killer Mechas didn’t just blindly defend but instead responded with a fierce storm-like counterattack! The sharpness of their retaliation made one find it hard to believe that they were facing the tenth generation of [Divine]!

Every watching warrior felt they were about to collapse; on the training ground, ten [Hunter] Mechas moved swiftly with lightning speed. As they moved, the entire formation resembled a rotating giant iron ball.

Each [Hunter] Mecha dashed madly, and whenever a [Divine] fixed its gaze and launched an attack at a [Hunter], another [Hunter] would appear from the side to attack, followed by yet another, while the Mecha initially under attack was already somewhere else, lost in the fast rotation of the formation.

The [Hunter] formation wasn’t a rotating disc but a three-dimensional sphere. Mechas at the rear quickly filled positions one after another, appearing from the left, from the right, leaping forward, emerging from unimaginable places in front of the opponent, the entire formation continuously moved while always keeping the forefront area facing the enemy to maintain minimal contact surface.

Where the iron ball rolled, [Divine] in contact faced countless wild attacks, their defense data rapidly dropping. If ordinary people stood in front of such overwhelming power, they would have already been shattered.

No one expected [Hunter] to be this powerful, nor did they anticipate their cooperation to be at such a level. They had truly fused into one entity, and while this coordination might not be omnipotent, against an equal number of opponents, its relentless storm-like assault power could cause any adversary to collapse!

”Clang! Clang! Clang!”, the metallic sound of Mecha Fighting rang endlessly like firecrackers. Seven or eight spherical data collectors flew in the sky, collecting data from every attack, while the giant light screen display continuously refreshed.

Douglas, Newson, and all Feiyang Mecha Soldiers were completely dazed.

They could not believe what was happening; ten Level 8 Mecha Warriors controlling [Divine] struggled under the bombardment of the same number of [Hunter] Mechas, relying solely on personal skill and Mecha advantages to barely maintain a draw.

And the entire attack formation had already been shredded beyond recognition under the rolling iron ball sweep! How long has it been since the Feiyang’s Mecha combat faced such an opponent?

”Beep!” A crisp electronic sound announced the conclusion of this brief yet seemingly endless competition. The score on the light screen froze at one to zero. Among the remaining nine [Divine] Mechas, three had their defense power reduced to a dangerously low 20% red line, while the other six varied, averaging around 65%, and all ten [Hunter] Mechas had an average remaining defense power of 50%.

These combat data clearly conveyed a message to everyone: the cooperation level of the Nineteen Division had reached a bewildering height. Just considering how they distributed the varied battlefield attack damages so evenly reveals how in tune they were!

To kill any one of them, you have to simultaneously kill the other nine!

Although everyone understood that if the battle continued, if it were a large-scale battle, Leray people might not necessarily achieve victory, yet, in this round, they ultimately won! Nine [Divine] Mechas stood dumbfounded on the spot, seemingly unable to accept the result for the moment.

Newson was the first to accept the result, as this unexpected defeat made him truly reevaluate the opponent. Perhaps his judgment was too subjective; a team capable of fighting deep behind enemy lines for this long certainly cannot be easily defeated. This defeat might actually be a good thing for his Special Forces Group and the entire Feiyang Army!

He glanced at Douglas, who sat beside him with a contemplative face, then slowly stood up and walked towards Tian Xingjian, saying, ”General Tian, congratulations on your subordinates’ victory, their fighting prowess astonishes me! However...” He adjusted his uniform and solemnly said, ”I will give my all in the next one-on-one match!”

”Oh?” Fatty looked at Newson in surprise, ”Is Captain Newson planning to take the field himself? That’s great...” He patted Newson’s shoulder, ”I’ve been wanting to move around too, what do you say... should we compete in Mecha bodybuilding or Mecha ethnic dance?”

Newson felt a surge of frustration; he truly couldn’t keep up with Fatty’s way of thinking. Deep breaths, trying to keep the trembling of his lips under control, he turned expressionlessly and said, ”I only know Mecha Fighting, please instruct!”

”Fighting?!” Fatty seemed as if he just realized, opened his mouth wide, ”Colonel Newson, you’re driving a tenth-generation [Divine] Mecha! Do you want me to fight with a Mecha inferior to yours? Such a match, is it fair? Wouldn’t your self-esteem be hurt? Wouldn’t the honor of the invincible Feiyang soldiers be insulted?”

”I knew it...” Several officers sitting nearby were sweating profusely, each thinking, ”This Fatty won’t suffer any loss!”

As a Level 9 Mecha Warrior, Newson’s dignity indeed wouldn’t allow him to rely on Mecha advantage to clinch a victory under public scrutiny that could be criticized.

After hesitating for a while, Newson finally asked for a warrior’s [Divine] Mecha controller and handed it to Fatty, ”You can use the same Mecha as me, however, Mecha operation, if lacking certain skill levels, might actually affect your performance.”

Fatty gleefully grabbed the controller, ”Don’t worry, I’ve driven even more advanced Mechas!”

Watching Fatty gleefully holding the Mecha controller like a child who received a beloved toy, Newson turned to walk towards his own Mecha. ”Wait!” Suddenly, Douglas stood up next to him and said to Newson, ”Colonel Newson, [Divine] is our military’s cutting-edge Mecha. Due to confidentiality reasons, you can’t let others pilot it!”

”Buzz.” As soon as Douglas spoke, a commotion immediately broke out among the generals, including Gordon, Hailig, and Oberto. As an ally, while the structural data of the Mecha is highly confidential, it’s not strict enough to forbid someone from piloting.

Although piloting can reveal Mecha performance and control levels, as well as electronic and radar equipment levels, these things couldn’t lead to secrecy theft just by occasional use. Without ample time and professional knowledge to thoroughly dissect and analyze the Mecha, it’s impossible to gain any understanding of the internals.

Moreover, Fatty isn’t just a Major General but also the commander of the Mezrich Battlefield, ranking just below Douglas. Such words were hardly bearable!

”Okay, using our Mecha is fine too!” Fatty reached out, pointing to a row of terribly shabby Warrior series Mechas at the edge of the field; he whispered a few words to Rashid, casting a knowing glance at Douglas, with a sly expression of having achieved a plot.

Douglas felt a chill in his heart, considering the stakes, and truly couldn’t afford to lose the second round. He immediately gritted his teeth and said, ”Fine, we’ll use [Divine]. Given General Tian’s rank within the Allies, this isn’t against the regulations.”

”...” Fatty looked stunned, eventually with a complex expression glancing at Douglas, then walked towards the Mecha glowing with guiding lights.

Before Fatty left, that glance allowed Douglas to feel slightly gratified for some reason. He could almost be sure, if using the Mechas Fatty provided, these despicable Leray people wouldn’t know what kind of tricks they might pull with the Mechas!
