Counterfeit Hero

Chapter 451: Volume 5, Chapter 57: What Other Tricks Are There?

The battle began like scorching lava meeting cold water.

Two hundred [Hunters] launched the attack first. These Special Mechas, like a wolf pack finally attacking their prey, instantly accelerated to their peak speed, disregarding the firepower of the [Vajra] Mecha Group!

Amidst the dazzling artillery fire, the Leray people executed a lightning strike with sudden changes, as a formation of Mechas leapt into the air with a tiger-like pounce and frog-like jump—an assault that cascaded like a tidal wave from the skies!

When the [Hunters] crashed into the [Vajra] Mecha Group like meteors, several hundred following [Warriors] had already formed two spherical attack formations. Nearly sticking to the [Hunters], they charged headlong into the enemy group. The flanks of [Anger] and [Honor] 15 were equally relentless, their overwhelming firepower sweeping through, turning several [Vajras] into blazing fireballs in mere moments.

Over ten [Vajras] collapsed in the first encounter, yet it seemed to have no effect on the two Mythical Mecha Battalions. They skillfully expanded a wave-like cover at high speed, launching a fierce counterattack!

As a regiment with a century of honorary achievements, every Mythical Soldier is supremely proud! They may have doubts about Reinhardt, feel puzzled by the loss of faith, or be weary of the internal strife on Mezrich. However, they will never be indifferent to the enemy’s provocation!

The two top armored forces of Mezrich Planet were engaged in a mad slaughter! Thousands of various mechas bared their fiercest appearances at this moment, forming assorted formations, rushing unhindered and striking fiercely on this small slope before the hills!

When the Sharp Blade Camp finally faced the Mythical Army, Rashid and Stewart suddenly felt a noticeable decrease in pressure. The several armored division teams desperately attempting to break through the intercepts of Group One and Two had unexpectedly slowed their attack frequency!

They did not know that for days, the doubts about the Mythical Army and resentment from their passive stance during the battle had occupied the minds of the Gazalin Soldiers barely held under the Mythical Army’s control.

So far, Reinhardt’s actions have not been convincing! If he and his Mythical Army cannot prove themselves in this pivotal battle affecting Mezrich’s landscape, relying on the sacrifices of these subordinate troops for victory might be too wishful thinking! Nobody wishes to waste their strength and lives here.

This battle, especially for the division commanders, was heartbreakingly fought.

Confronting the Leray Armored Group made them truly aware of the difference between close combat and ranged attacks! Moreover, even in ranged attacks, the accuracy and evasion rates of the Leray Mechas were far superior to those of the ordinary mecha soldiers!

They had never encountered such an enemy! This Leray Armored Division embodied the natural indifference of Leray people, the iron-willed determination and fearlessness of the most hardened warriors, the most ruthless killing aura, the highest arrogance that cannot be insulted, deadly close-combat skills, and precise long-range firepower strangulation!

However, they also possessed cunning like foxes, shamelessly fleeing when outmatched, utilizing gang-like tactics of swarming, a vengeful nature, and strategies including stealth, ambush, infiltration, luring traps, appearing weak to deceive the enemy—unpredictable!

They were the Special Soldiers among Special Soldiers, mastering various tactical methods expertly. When they fought desperately, they resembled ferocious Fierce Beasts, hundreds to thousands in collective frenzy. Even Death would retreat three feet from these madmen!

Unreasonable, rampant, bullying the weak, overwhelming with numbers, without any rules or standards, they flee, fight recklessly, shamelessly bare, reigning supreme in battle!

This Leray Armored Division comprised many contradictions! It was precisely these contradictions that exuded a sharp intensity from the entire troop! Fighting against them was a hopeless contest, a tactical game beyond reach, and their sinister ways were unmatched!

Who would want to engage such enemies is insane!

Look at these bastards, is there a single mecha among them not battered? Has any one of them not fought through and emerged from the midst of thousands? Or even hesitated or retreated a single step?

Three divisions were successively thrown in, yet one and a half were smashed to pieces by them! Once, a [Warrior] was surrounded during a maneuver, but this rogue actually charged at more than ten mechas blocking him. After killing three mechas in melee, his mecha turned red!

Just when it was about to explode, a miniature mecha suddenly shot out from the [Warrior]’s frame, swiftly darting through the blockade he had shattered, catching up to his team.

Then, everyone heard this scoundrel shout: ”Damn it, they stripped me naked in battle, I’m retreating first, you all avenge me!”

He escaped, and that mecha platoon which had already executed the formation slaughtered through again with no hesitation!

Addressing no logic, the flashy-faced noble platoon leader cried at that moment. Not one for vulgar language, he said they were damn bullying!

Such an enemy should originally be assaulted by the Mythical Army. If the Mythical Army could tear open their defensive formation, the sacrifices of the following troops would be significantly reduced!

Now, it’s time for the Mythical Army to prove themselves!

Mecha close-quarters combat is always more thrilling than mutual artillery attacks.

Especially when it’s between two armored forces whose primary attack method is close-quarters combat! The spectacular battle scenes leave everyone fortunate enough to witness them breathless!

The decade-long evolution of military mechas from long-range to close-quarters combat is fully demonstrated in this battle.

This doesn’t mean the Energy Cannons have lost their role. On the contrary, advanced military strategy and extensive combat experience have led both mecha forces to independently choose a combined combat style that emphasizes close-quarters combat while supplementing with long-range attacks.

After all, the long-range firepower of both the heavy mechas and medium-sized mechas, while no longer the primary means of attack, still dazzles with the deadly beam of light from the Energy Cannon in terms of control.

Countless Hunters, Warriors, and Vajras are dodging amidst the fierce shelling, covering each other alternately, as energy shields change color rapidly in the barrage. Their coordination is best described as delightful to watch!

The warriors from the Mythical Army are the elite soldiers of the entire Gazalin; they are not only one in a million but also seasoned veterans with extremely rich war experience!

The Vajras in the hands of the Mythical Soldiers seem to come alive! As long as there are no fatal flaws, no one can underestimate these natural-born warriors.

One Vajra after another advances relentlessly toward the Leray Mecha Camp, their formations dispersing and converging suddenly, their movements as textbook standard! One Vajra charges forward with an Upper Step Punch at high speed, inevitably followed by another Vajra’s low-altitude frog jump assault. When one Vajra initiates jumping through, another Vajra inevitably launches the same maneuver in a reverse zigzag!

Their coordination is seamless! Every action has been honed to simplicity! There’s no trickery, nothing overly complex, just the most standard and swiftest mechanical control technology!

If the Mythical Army is a precise machine, then the Leray people are a pack of hunting wolves!

Though they appear scattered, they seem connected by invisible lines! Their actions may seem unreasonable, but they always manage to seize the initiative and avert danger!

The battle has blinked by twenty minutes, and one mecha after another has fallen in this brutal fight, yet even now, no one can determine who is victorious!

The two Vajra Armored Camps, with their advantage in terrain and numbers, are pressing forward step by step, their combat superiority becoming more evident, almost completely overwhelming the Leray people. But the ones truly falling are predominantly the Vajras!

Who can make a judgment in this situation?

Have the Leray people truly lost their first strike, or are they feigning weakness?

If they are feigning weakness, then what are they waiting for? In this hilltop surrounded by the Ryan Group’s armored forces, what tricks do they have up their sleeve?!

A Vajra mecha platoon intentionally falls back under the command of the platoon leader.

Reinhardt and the three commanders continue to stand silently on the hill, unmoving. Seeing the platoon fall back, Reinhardt lightly says, ”Don’t worry about anything else, press forward, what I need is total annihilation!”

His tone carries his usual arrogance and pride, along with a hint of anger.

The Vajra platoon pressed forward, and the platoon leader cursed himself with some embarrassment. Up there is a Level 9 Mecha Warrior and three Level 8 Mecha Warriors, even if the entire Leray Mecha Camp charged up, it would just be a matter of spending a bit more time for those four!

The Leray Mecha Camp, after resisting step by step, finally, powerlessly, was pushed down to the gentle slope! A Vajra camp has already flanked behind them, and within a few minutes, the Mythical Soldiers will completely resolve this battle!
