Worthless Profession: Dragon Tamer

Chapter 247, Clearing a Dark Castle, Is He Even Human?

Translator: Silavin

It was not that Lu Fan was deliberately tricking Andrei. After all, even though the roasted meat was Dragon Feed, it was carefully roasted by Han Ke. There was not any problem with Humans eating it.

More importantly, Lu Fan had more of this roasted meat in his Inventory, while things like beggar’s chicken, things he ate himself, were relatively scarce.

In this National Trial, food supplies decreased with each bite, so it was better to save where possible.

Besides, if he did not mention it, how would Andrei know he was eating Pet Food?

Under the Mission’s guidance, Andrei and Lu Fan quickly found the Dark Castle wandering in the Swamp region.

This Dark Castle looked slightly different from the one Lu Fan had cleared before, though the overall appearance was similar.

At the same time, this Dark Castle’s ‘drivers’ were not Flying Earth Demons, but rather Monsters called the Demon Skyhorn.

This Monster had similar Attributes to the Flying Earth Demon, just different Skills.

It made sense. Each of the Nine Hell Demons and their Demon Armies should be of similar strength, just with different types of Monsters.

On the way, Lu Fan had heard Andrei mention that when he attempted to clear the Dark Castle, he encountered Monsters like Corpse Eagles and Corpse-Eating Worms, not Two-Headed Ogres or Demonic Bloodthirsty Bats.

But in the end, they were all Monsters, with similar Levels and Grades. Thus, Lu Fan was still extremely confident about  Missioning this Dark Castle.

After spotting the Dark Castle from afar, Andrei stopped without rashly approaching, and turned to ask Lu Fan. “Brother, we’ve found the Dark Castle, how should we clear it? We both have Combat Specialised Professions, so when we’re killing monsters, we probably don’t need to worry about our formation, right?”

Andrei soon added, “Let’s each clear on our own. Whoever gets the points keeps them. It will be based on our own abilities, how’s that?”

There was nothing wrong with Andrei’s suggestion, so Lu Fan naturally had no objections.

Andrei smiled. “Alright then, let’s start clearing! Oh right, Brother, you need to be careful when we start. I definitely can’t clear past the third wave. At that point, I’ll probably have to retreat, so you need to be extra careful.”

“No problem.” Lu Fan nodded, while also forming a plan in his mind for how to clear the Monsters.

Lu Fan and Andrei immediately came to an agreement and flew towards the Dark Castle.

As the two got a bit closer to the Dark Castle, the Monsters guarding it got alerted.

Instantly, over a thousand Corpse Eagles flew out from above the castle, sweeping towards Lu Fan and Andrei.

The Demon Skyhorns responsible for pulling the Dark Castle also put it down, breaking free from their restraints, ready to join the battle at any moment.

According to Andrei, when most of the Corpse Eagles were killed, the Dark Castle’s gate would open, and then the third wave of monsters – the Corpse-Eating Worms would surge out like a tide.

At that time, even he would have to quickly run away. Otherwise once pulled underground by the Corpse-Eating Worms, he would be eaten without even leaving scraps.

Lu Fan looked at the swarming Corpse Eagles and said to Andrei. “With your strength, dealing with the Corpse Eagles and Demon Skyhorn shouldn’t be a problem, right?”

Andrei nodded and said. “The first two waves of Monsters have Low Attributes. Although there are many of them, they’re not hard to deal with.”

Lu Fan said. “Then it’s fine. I’ll leave these two waves of monsters outside to you. I’ll directly go in to kill the Monsters inside.”

“No problem, I… wait, what did you just say!? You’re going inside to kill Monsters!?” Andrei suddenly realised what Lu Fan had said and was stunned.

Lu Fan gave an “En”, then added, “Rather than waiting for the Dark Castle’s Monsters to rush out wave by wave, I might as well directly go in and take them out, all at once. That would save me a ton of time.”

“But… but, but…” Andrei felt his worldview was starting to collapse. He had too many objections to raise but did not know where to start.

[Brother, this is a Dark Castle! For representatives like us, just dealing with the waves of Monsters coming out of it is already a devastating disaster! Surviving alone is already extremely difficult. Yet here you are, complaining that their waves of Monsters are too slow, wanting to go in to kill them!? Can you please act like a normal person for once!? Can you show some respect for the Dark Castles and their Nine Hell Demons!?]

[Brother, we need to take a huge step back first. Clearing a Dark Castle has its prerequisite steps. If you want to go in to clear it, that’s fine, but the key is, the Dark Castle’s gate is not even open yet. How will you get in?]

[Once the Dark Castle’s gate opens, the Monsters inside will surge out wave after wave. We would need to kill through one wave only for another to appear, giving us hardly any time to react. It would be impossible to fight your way in from the outside.]

Andrei really could not figure out how Lu Fan planned to ‘directly go in to kill the Monsters inside’.

But Lu Fan just showed Andrei through his actions. For a mere Dark Castle, he could enter whenever he wanted.

Lu Fan drew out an Array, and instantly, another Pet Dragon appeared. It was Xing Chen.

Although Andrei had already learned through intelligence reports that Lu Fan likely possessed more than one Pet Dragon, he still could not help being surprised when Lu Fan summoned another one.

One Pet Dragon was already incredibly rare in the world, but Lu Fan had two! Furthermore, both these Pet Dragons appeared to be Pure Blood Giant Dragons, looking so perfect that even their scales were breathtaking.

But what surprised Andrei even more had yet to come.

Lu Fan commanded Xing Chen. “Xing Chen, switch to your Starlight Form, then use Starry Space Passage to make a path into the Dark Castle.”

Xing Chen gave Lu Fan a world-weary glance and did not respond. Still, his rebellious ‘Daughter’ was obedient. The starlight-like spots on her scales began flickering with light, gradually expanding.

In an instant, Xing Chen’s entire body was enveloped in dazzling starlight. Although her size had not changed, the pressure emanating from her body was completely different from before. It was as though Heaven and Earth had been overturned.

How could Andrei know that this Starry Sky Dragon, though only Level 17, had terrifyingly High Strength Attributes of over twenty-five thousand!

In her Starlight Form, although Xing Chen’s Level was only half that of Xiao Ye’s, her Strength Attribute could already compete with Xiao Ye in her World Destroyer Form.

Such was the terror of a Strength Type Combat Specialised Dragon!

After switching to her Starlight Form, Xing Chen’s body radiated dazzling starlight. She then flew up high and charged down towards the Dark Castle.

At the same time, her Dragon Claw suddenly tore through the air. With a sound like breaking glass, points of starlight appeared from nowhere, tearing through space itself to create a moderately-sized passage through space.

This passage was similar to a Transport Array, but instead of chaos, one would see points of starlight through it, making it incredibly beautiful.

“Brother, take care of the outside. I’ll quickly clear out all the Monsters in the Dark Castle.” After this reminder, Lu Fan flew into this Starry Space Passage portal together with Xing Chen and Xiao Ye.

Left behind, Andrei stood alone in the wind, dumbfounded.

[It tore open a portal with its bare hands!? Brother, can you please be more Human!?]
