Worthless Profession: Dragon Tamer

Chapter 217, What’s Going On, Little Brother?

Translator: Silavin

Little did he know, his words made Lu Fan secretly laugh. [Steal your kill? You think that I actually cared about the few points on you and that Ice Plains Yeti Chieftain?]

Lu Fan had observed the entire battle between Yasanglai and the Ice Plains Yeti Chieftain. It had given him a rough understanding of how strong Yasanglai was.

If Lu Fan wanted to make a move, he could easily strike with his sword, and Lu Fan did indeed have this thought, as he did not exactly see South Country in a favourable light.

South Country was even weaker than Extremistis Country. Many years ago, it was merely a vassal state under Dragon Country. Later, it was deceived by some major countries and actually invaded Dragon Country’s southern border.

Later, Tu Jing led his Griffin Legion into their country and nearly destroyed it. South Country, recovering from the brink of destruction, had not learned its lesson. Instead, it repeatedly acted out of line in international affairs, repeatedly confronting Dragon Country.

Seeing the representative of such a country in the National Trial Secret Realm, Lu Fan certainly wanted to directly attack and kill them.

However, Lu Fan also saw the information above Yasanglai’s head. He currently only has about 5,000 points and was also ranking near the bottom.

After some thought, Lu Fan finally decided to spare Yasanglai’s life for now. Because killing him now would only yield about 5,000 points.

[Better to fatten the Pig before slaughtering it. When he accumulates tens of thousands or hundreds of thousands of points, killing him in one go would be much more profitable, wouldn’t it?]

So, Lu Fan’s interest in Yasanglai greatly diminished and he had decided to let him off for now.

However, Lu Fan was quite interested in the Mission Scroll at the top of the mountain.

Completing the Mission from the Mission Scroll would not only earn a large number of points but also a substantial amount of Experience Points. These two things were exactly what Lu Fan needed.

So, Lu Fan directly ignored Yasanglai and had Xiao Ye fly towards the top of the mountain, intending to accept the Mission first.

In Yasanglai’s eyes, Lu Fan’s behaviour was undoubtedly an attempt to escape.

Yasanglai immediately guessed that Lu Fan must have wanted to take advantage of his battle with the Boss earlier, planning to sneak up and kill two birds with one stone.

Now that he had killed the Boss, Lu Fan naturally would not dare to confront him directly and wanted to ride his Pet Dragon and leave.

Seeing Lu Fan trying to escape, how could Yasanglai be willing to let him leave?

“Just because you have a flying Pet Dragon, you think you can escape from me? How naive!” Yasanglai smiled, a water ball appearing in his left hand, which he threw directly at Lu Fan’s Pet Dragon.

This Crowd Control Skill of Yasanglai’s was a Range Attack Skill that could hit flying units in the sky, trapping them in a water ball. It would prevent them from flying and cause them to fall back to the ground.

Thus, although Yasanglai did not have the ability to fly, he was very versatile and not afraid of those that could fly.

However, what Yasanglai never expected was that although his Skill accurately hit the Black Dragon, the water ball did not expand as he had anticipated. The water ball hit Xiao Ye with a soft *pop* and then disappeared, immediately becoming ineffective.

Yasanglai was stunned. [My Skill had no Effect!? How is this possible!? Even a Level 70 Gold Grade Boss had been trapped for two seconds by my water ball!]

Little did he know that any Crowd Control Skill was ineffective against Xiao Ye. After all, there was very little information about Lu Fan’s abilities online, and South Country, where Yasanglai was from, did not have a decent intelligence department.

Lu Fan knew him like the back of his hand, but apart from knowing that Lu Fan had a Black Dragon, Yasanglai knew almost nothing else. Naturally, he did not know that both Xiao Ye and Lu Fan were Immune to Debuffs.

Instead, the Skill he used on Xiao Ye caught her attention.

Without Lu Fan’s command, Xiao Ye herself had no interest in an ant like Yasanglai. But, just now, did this ant just spit at her!?

Xiao Ye was never known for her good temper. Although she had received Lu Fan’s order and would not release her Dragon Breath on Yasanglai, the displeased Xiao Ye still turned her head while flying to look at Yasanglai.

In those Dragon Eyes was the innate pressure from the Dragon Race. Her gaze carried a questioning look, ‘What are you doing, LITTLE BROTHER!?’

Just this one look, even without the Effect of her Black Dragon Pressure Skill from her World Destroyer Form, made Yasanglai suddenly feel his whole skin tingle. His back instantly broke out in cold sweat.

*Thud!* He suddenly could not feel his legs and Yasanglai lost his balance and fell to his knees.

At this moment, he realised that the pressure earlier was not his imagination, but actually real! Moreover, the reason for his weak legs was entirely due to the approach of this Black Dragon!

Just now, when he made eye contact with this Black Dragon, his entire mental defence was instantly shattered, and an intense feeling of dread completely overwhelmed him.

This was the fear of a Superior Race, like animals seeing their natural predators. This was the product of fear welling up from the bottom of their hearts.

Originally, Yasanglai wanted to detain Lu Fan and kill him, to become a hero of the South Country. However, just by being looked at by Lu Fan’s Pet Dragon, the fear in Yasanglai’s heart instantly made him lose all desire to fight.

[Is this really just a Level 30-something Pet!? How can just one glance be so terrifying!?]

Yasanglai was also an expert Player. However, he only had one feeling in his heart. [If Lu Fan wanted to, he could easily crush me!]

His whole body trembled. His hands were supporting him on the sword, barely preventing him from prostrating himself. This was the only way he could preserve his last shred of dignity.

At the same time, Yasanglai also saw that Lu Fan was not trying to escape from here but was going to accept the Mission Scroll he had long set his sights on.

Watching the Mission Scroll he had worked so hard to obtain about to be taken by Lu Fan, although Yasanglai was extremely unwilling in his heart, his body was now trembling all over. So, how could he possibly dare to open his mouth to stop him?

However, just as Lu Fan was about to ride Xiao Ye and fly to the top of the mountain, there was suddenly movement inside the Ice Plains Yeti’s cave. A massive Ice Throw flew out, aimed directly at Lu Fan and Xiao Ye.

Although this Skill appeared all of a sudden, Xiao Ye was very agile and managed to avoid it.

At the same time, the roar of a Monster came from within the cave, and a Yeti even larger than the Ice Plains Yeti Chieftain emerged from the cave, holding a huge bone club. It seemed completely intent on blocking Lu Fan.

Lu Fan used Appraisal Eye on it and found out that this was an Ice Plains Yeti King, a Level 75 Gold Grade Boss. It was slightly stronger than the previous Boss.

It was probably also designed to be here to prevent representatives from accepting the Mission in this scroll.

Seeing this, Yasanglai secretly rejoiced. [Now that another Boss has appeared to block his way, if Lu Fan wants to accept the Mission, he will definitely have to fight against it! In that case, won’t I have the opportunity to reap the benefits without lifting a finger!?]
