Worthless Profession: Dragon Tamer

Chapter 238, Hunter and Prey

Translator: Silavin

This was Eternal Country’s representative Kiran.

The information above his head showed he was already at Level 60, and had his Third Profession Change. His current Profession was Five Poison Master.

As for his points, he already had sixty thousand points, and ranked sixth overall. It was quite high, in consideration of all the representatives participating in the National Trial.

Though he had a Human body, he was as flexible as a snake, easily crawling out from the seven-coloured python’s mouth and quickly making his way to the python’s head.

“None of the Twenty-Three Country Alliance representatives are easy to deal with. Although I know someone is coming to hunt me, and they’re getting closer, I don’t know who it is. If it’s someone like Yasanglai, from the weaker countries, that’s one thing, but if it’s someone of Charles or Andrei’s level, I’m not their match… I need to make some preparations…”

Kiran looked at his Mission Panel, seeing in the pursuit Mission that the tracker’s distance from him was constantly decreasing, he knew the other party had immediately started searching for him after accepting the Mission.

As the target, he could not see Lu Fan’s exact location, but he could check the distance between them.

This mechanism existed to prevent targets from being suddenly ambushed. Otherwise the pursuit Mission System would be too one sided.

Kiran calculated the distance between himself and the pursuer, and was shocked to discover how fast the other party was moving. [Must be someone with a Knight Type Profession with a Sky Mount.]

However, the distance was very far, and the other party was still in another region. So, it would still take some time before they arrived, giving him plenty of time to prepare.

“Perfect, my Third Profession Change Skill, Ten Thousand Snake Poison Array is perfect for trapping Players.” Kiran’s cold smile grew more fierce as he started looking around. “This place seems like it would make a good grave for the pursuer… Who’s there?! Come out!”

Kiran’s tone changed as he looked toward some bushes.

The bushes were some distance from him, and with the Poisonous Miasma, normally, people would find it hard to notice someone behind them.

However, Kiran had a Passive Skill called Snake Heat Detection that could detect Concealed beings through heat, naturally allowing him to see someone moving behind the bushes.

At his shout, the seven-coloured python beneath him became alert, poison dripping from its two dagger-like fangs onto the swamp below, immediately producing a *sizzling* sound as smoke rose.

Clearly, being contaminated by this poison would lead to a miserable fate.

Behind the bushes, a pair of large hands parted them, revealing a bear-like massive figure.

Anyone would think this figure was a strong man at first glance. However, looking carefully would reveal it to actually be a woman.

It was just that both her build and appearance were quite ‘unflattering’.

Above her head, information was clearly displayed.

Wei Ji, Level 60, Bear God Inheritor, Great Khan Country, 52,642 points, Rank 10.

Seeing it was Wei Ji, Kiran relaxed his guard because she was his ally.

Wei Ji stepped through the swamp’s still water and mud, her thick eyebrows furrowed as she spoke in a voice as deep as a man’s.

“Kiran, is this really your idea of a good meeting location? Everything being wet is one thing, but the poisonous gas here is a constant Debuff, lowering my Attributes. My current Attributes are only at 70%. I now have to avoid Monsters I could kill. Do you know how many point-gaining opportunities I’m wasting away?”

Wei Ji kept complaining, and Kiran could see that her already unpleasant face had a purple tinge from accumulated poison, making her look even uglier.

Kiran just smiled at her, sitting on the seven-coloured python’s head, he explained “I have no choice. Didn’t we agree earlier that our four-country alliance would quickly gather to farm points after entering the National Trial? The Swamp region is at the centre of the nine regions. None of us know where we would start, so we’ve all agreed to meet at the centre.”

“Besides, this environment suits my Profession Characteristics, the terrain and poison don’t affect me at all. Others might have their Attributes restricted here, but not for me. If we farm for points here, we have the terrain advantage. If we encounter other country’s representatives, with the four of us together, even Charles or Andrei probably would not be our match.”

Wei Ji, disgruntledly looked up at Kiran. “This region might be fine for you, but for me and Gu Lang, the restrictions are too severe. Not only is our Movement Speed being affected, but our Attributes keep dropping. If we farm for points here, we might die from poison before we even reach a hundred thousand points!”

*Hehe.* Kiran laughed, then waved his hand, sending out a green light that fell on Wei Ji.

Instantly, Wei Ji felt her discomfort vanish and her Attributes returning to normal.

Kiran added, “It’s just Poisonous Miasma, I can clear this level of poison with one of my Skills. That’s why I said this Swamp region is excellent for us to farm points in.”

Wei Ji was much more satisfied now that her body was free of poison. As long as her Attributes had not been weakened, a little Movement Speed restriction was not too big of an issue.

It was only then that she noticed the mark above Kiran’s head. She asked, “You’ve been marked as someone’s prey?”

Kiran nodded, smiling. “That’s right, someone accepted a Mission to hunt me down. That person is now heading this way. Actually, you’ve arrived at an excellent time. You can help me set up a trap. When the hunter arrives, we can catch that person like a turtle in a jar!”

“Also, since you’ve found your way here, Gu Lang and the others should be arriving soon, right?”

Wei Ji said. “They should be. As long as they were not teleported to the edge of the map and both haven’t wasted too much time travelling, they should not be much later than me. After all, they both have Sky Mounts and can travel far faster than me.”

Kiran laughed. “In that case, once this hunter arrives, the roles of hunter and prey will be reversed!”

Wei Ji added, “I hope it’s a strong Player with lots of points. After we kill them, you’d better split the points equally between us three. On my way here, I was focused on travelling and only killed some Monsters for points in passing. If it weren’t for meeting up with you, my points wouldn’t be so low, making me ranked only in tenth place.”

“No problem, since we’re all allies, I’ll definitely make sure we all get lots of points!” Kiran readily agreed.

Just then, he suddenly looked up in another direction, grinning: “Looks like Gu Lang and Badan have arrived as well…”
