Worthless Profession: Dragon Tamer

Chapter 229, Diabolical Hell Demon

Translator: Silavin

This throne was enormous and incredibly ancient in design, looking like both a charred tree root and something cast from a dull metal.

However, there was no Monster on the throne.

Just as Lu Fan was wondering why it was empty, Black Dragon Perception suddenly alerted him, sensing something unusual.

Lu Fan looked up and sure enough, wisps of black smoke had appeared from behind the throne, swirling around it like wandering spirits, gradually gathering on the seat.

As the black smoke continued to converge, a huge shadow finally appeared, floating above the throne.

This was a Monster about five metres tall, wearing black and red armour and chains. It had only an upper body, with two thick, long arms covered in armour. It held no weapon, but its hands were enormous, gleaming like steel, with ten long blade-like fingers like ten giant swords, sharp and sturdy.

It seemed these finger blades were its weapons, and their power was not to be underestimated.

Its lower body was like moving black smog, nothing solid was underneath it. Attacks that landed on its lower half would likely have no effect.

Lu Fan used Appraisal on it, and sure enough, this was the master of the Dark Castle, one of the Nine Hell Demons – the Diabolical Hell Demon.

This Monster was already a Level 85 Epic Grade Boss (Nightmare Boss), with Combat Power surpassing other ordinary Level 85 Nightmare Grade Bosses.

Indeed, all of this Monster’s Attributes had broken past 30,000, and it had countless Skills. With a few Enhancement Skills added, its All Four Attributes could easily surpassed 50,000.

Lu Fan had never encountered a Boss with such High Attributes before. This Hell Demon was undoubtedly the strongest Monster Lu Fan had ever faced, bar none!

If Lu Fan could not ride Xiao Ye and share her Attributes, he would have to think twice about facing such a being.

After all, his own Attributes were only around 2,000, far too inferior compared to the opponent.

If this Boss targeted Lu Fan to kill, and if Xiao Cui was a bit slow in applying her Skills, Lu Fan could really be in danger.

But now, Lu Fan was in his Riding State, essentially fusing with Xiao Ye and sharing the same set of Attributes.

With the Attributes borrowed from Xiao Ye, Lu Fan could lead his Dragons to have a good contest with this Boss!

Still, Lu Fan did not dare to be careless with this Boss. When the fight started, he would have to use his full strength, and also test out Xing Chen’s new abilities.

Lu Fan put away the Flaming Meteor Sword and took out Underworld Serpent’s Cry, planning to use the range advantage to shoot two arrows at the Boss first.

At this moment, the Diabolical Hell Demon also made its move.

However, it did not rush to attack Lu Fan, but instead flexed its ten fingers. The blade-like fingers rubbing against each other, making a piercing sound.

“Humans again?! I remember, many years ago, I should have been killed by Humans, right?”

Under the black helmet, the blood-red light that should be the Diabolical Hell Demon’s eyes flashed with a fierce light. It looked down at the blades on its hands and spoke. “This body… is not my body… This is not my Dark Castle…”

“Hehe, it seems like those foolish Humans have recreated me… How pitiful. I, one of the Nine Hell Demons, should have rooted the Dark Castle and ruled over a whole country. Not only was I killed by Humans, but I’ve even become a plaything for them to slaughter at will! How laughable…”

Seeing this, Lu Fan was startled. [It’s intelligent. And, it is of a high calibre! Not only can it speak, but it even knows that it died and has been recreated as a Boss in a Secret Realm! Unlike the previous Bosses, who although had some intelligence, they were never this self-aware!]

For example, the Demon General, who in its dying moments still swore ‘I’ll defend Lord Diabolical Hell Demon to the death’, completely unaware that he and the ‘Lord Diabolical Hell Demon’ he spoke of had already become Monsters recreated for this Secret Realm.

[As expected of an Epic Grade Boss. It is indeed different from ordinary Bosses!]

While Lu Fan was surprised, the Diabolical Hell Demon raised its head to look at him.

With its intelligence, although it did not know exactly what kind of Secret Realm it had been revived in, it knew that Lu Fan was here to clear this Secret Realm.

The Diabolical Hell Demon had been killed by Humans and had an innate hatred for them. Add to that the fact that Lu Fan was here to kill its current self, and the overflowing hatred made its eyes glow even redder.

“Although this isn’t my original body, my strength has not weakened by much. This body is still quite useful. So, no matter what kind of world this is, all Humans must be eradicated! Puny ant, do you have any last words before you die?” As it spoke, black smoke began to spread around the Diabolical Hell Demon’s body. Behind it, a pair of Demon Wings made of black smoke appeared.

Lu Fan saw that this was a Buff it had applied to itself, increasing its Agility Attribute by a large margin!

At the same time, red energy spread over the Diabolical Hell Demon’s finger blades, another Enhancement Skill that could add Poison Damage to its attacks.

Of course, this Poison was meaningless to Lu Fan and his Pet Dragons, as the Dragon Race was Immune to all Debuffs.

Being asked about his ‘last words’ by the Diabolical Hell Demon felt quite strange to Lu Fan, as this was truly the first time he had encountered a Monster with such great intelligence.

Lu Fan thought carefully, then suddenly had an idea and grinned at the Hell Demon. “If you’re asking about my last words, I actually do have some. Can you tell me, why you have a throne even when you don’t have a butt?”

The entire Dark Castle fell into a deathly silence.

Lu Fan had clearly asked a question that greatly displeased the Hell Demon.

Lu Fan was confused though. [Was my question not sophisticated enough for it to answer?]

The next second, the Diabolical Hell Demon showed Lu Fan with actions. His question had made it livid!

The Hell Demon’s form gradually became transparent, and at the same time, Lu Fan sensed extreme danger through Black Dragon Perception.

“Xiao Cui, Jade Shield!” Lu Fan frowned and shouted, and Xiao Cui immediately complied, casting Jade Shield on both Lu Fan and Xiao Ye.

With a loud *clang*, the Diabolical Hell Demon that had just disappeared reappeared in front of Lu Fan and Xiao Ye, its arms crossed, slashing down with two consecutive claw attacks.

Not only that, but three or four afterimages appeared around the Diabolical Hell Demon, and the sound of Jade Shield being attacked rang out repeatedly.

Jade Shield had barely lit up before being shattered by the Diabolical Hell Demon, and eight shields were instantly broken!
