Worthless Profession: Dragon Tamer

Chapter 207, Extremistis Country, Golden Jade City

Soon, Lu Fan and the others followed Elder Han into the prepared business cars.

Due to Elder Han’s special status, he rode in the same car as the guards, while Lu Fan, Zhao Shengming, and the accompanying staff from Dragon Capital University rode in two other cars.

On the way, seeing no outsiders around, Lu Fan quietly asked Zhao Shengming about Elder Han’s background.

Lu Fan had always thought that since the Three Elders of Dragon Country held such high positions in this world, where strength was respected, the three of them must be world-class expert Players.

But after seeing Elder Han today, Lu Fan realised he might have been mistaken.

This Elder Han clearly did not have the aura of a powerful expert. [Or, could it be that he just hid his strength too deeply?]

Learning of Lu Fan’s thoughts, Zhao Shengming smiled and said that Elder Han was not hiding anything. His Level was actually quite low, probably only in the 40s. In fact, he did not even have a Combat Specialised Profession, but a Lifestyle Specialised Profession. He was a Cook.

Upon learning this fact, Lu Fan was even more shocked. [A Level 40-something Cook can become one of the Three Elders of Dragon Country!?]

Zhao Shengming smiled and said, “In this world, strength is indeed respected, that’s true. But sometimes, strength isn’t purely reflected in combat ability. In fact, among the Three Elders of Dragon Country, only one has a Combat Specialised Profession, with his Level and strength standing at the pinnacle, at the top of existence.”

“As for the other two, including Elder Han, they basically have no combat ability. Otherwise, how could Elder Han come to Extremistis Country and still need to bring so many bodyguards? Actually, what we see is just the surface level bodyguards. I’ve heard that Elder Han has the ‘Four Ultimate Swordsmen’ around him, Four Swordsmen who have changed professions and reached the pinnacle of strength. It’s said that they always follow Elder Han closely, and coming to the Extremistis Country should be no exception.”

After a pause, Zhao Shengming sighed and said, “It’s said that these Four Ultimate Swordsmen were famous Players for many years, but were later convinced by Elder Han and they voluntarily followed him. Elder Han once said that with the Four Ultimate Swordsmen by his side, no one in this world could harm him, which shows how strong these four are. Yet, these four powerful experts are willing to follow Elder Han. I believe you can imagine how capable Elder Han must be, right?”

Hearing this, Lu Fan was shocked. Indeed, it was hard to imagine four experts of that level loyally following a Level 40-something Cook.

For Elder Han to be able to win over these people, he must have his own unique abilities. In fact, compared to winning over the Four Ultimate Swordsmen, being one of the Three Elders of Dragon Country better demonstrated Elder Han’s exceptional qualities in certain aspects.

Previously, Lu Fan had only heard of the title of the Three Elders of Dragon Country and knew they were the rulers of Dragon Country. It was just that Lu Fan did not know much about these three people.

After Zhao Shengming’s explanation, Lu Fan became very interested in the Three Elders of Dragon Country and actively asked about the other two.

However, Zhao Shengming said he did not know much about the other two either, and he only knew Elder Han because he had met him a few times before.

Zhao Shengming had only heard that one of the other two Elders of Dragon Country was also not a Combat Specialised Profession, but had an Enhancement Specialised Profession. But what exact Profession it was, very few people knew, including himself.

He had heard Elder Han mention that this person’s Enhancement Specialised Profession ability was extremely powerful, to the point of being called a pillar of Dragon Country.

As for the last person, he was indeed a genuine Combat Specialised Profession. Moreover, this Elder’s strength has always been a mystery.

It was easy to imagine that to secure a position as one of the Three Elders based on strength alone, this person’s Level must not be low.

Some speculate that this Elder might have already undergone his Fifth Profession Change, gaining power that was on par with Divinity.

These were the Three Elders of Dragon Country, each extraordinary and shrouded in mystery.

As Lu Fan and Zhao Shengming chatted in the car about the Three Elders of Dragon Country, time passed quickly without them noticing.

Finally, the business car entered a city and eventually stopped in front of a luxury hotel.

After getting out of the car, Lu Fan surveyed this city. [So this is Golden Jade City.]

Golden Jade City was not the capital of the Extremistis Country, but it was one of the four most developed cities in Extremistis Country.

The level of prosperity in the city was almost comparable to that of Dragon Capital. However, compared to Dragon Capital, Lu Fan felt that Golden Jade City fell short by more than just a little.

[It is likely due to Extremistis Country being small, that’s why Golden Jade City is not that big either. That’s why I can see the city boundaries at a glance.]

[Sadly, because of its size, even if prosperous, it lacked the depth to accommodate a lot of things. There is a stark contrast to Dragon Capital, which is not only prosperous but also vast in area, more than ten times larger than Golden Jade City. If I wanted to, I could spend a year playing in Dragon Capital without getting bored. In fact, even if I spend a year, I might not even be able to visit all the places worth seeing in Dragon Capital. Though, to be fair, this is not their capital. I wonder what their capital city looks like.]

The difference between countries was evident from this.

After Lu Fan and the others got out of the car, Elder Han came over again, warmly inviting everyone to rest at the hotel.

This hotel was the best in Golden Jade City, and during the National Trial, it had been reserved by Extremistis Country to accommodate representatives and high officials from various countries.

Next to the hotel was Golden Jade City’s most famous Arena, the Golden Jade Arena, where the Transport Array to the National Trial Secret Realm would be set up.

The Dragon Country delegation was arranged to be on the hotel’s top floor, with each person having their own room, which was quite considerate.

After returning to his room, Lu Fan did not wander around aimlessly but went to the bed to rest, conserving energy in preparation for officially participating in the National Trial the next day.

Through the window, Lu Fan could see waves of representatives from various countries arriving at the hotel and being arranged to check in.

Soon, evening came.

A waiter came to knock on the door, saying that the Extremistis Country had prepared a banquet in the hotel lobby, inviting friends from various countries who had come to the Extremistis Country to taste the State Banquet.

Lu Fan knew the typical proceedings of the National Trial. Tonight was not only about tasting the Extremistis Country’s State Banquet but also about revealing this year’s National Trial map and rules, as well as the betting resources invested by the 23 countries in the National Trial.

Lu Fan naturally could not miss out on this event, so he followed the waiter to the hotel lobby.

By this time, there were already many people in the hotel. Zhao Shengming had already arrived, and seeing Lu Fan come, he beckoned Lu Fan to sit beside him in the Dragon Country delegation’s seats.

After Lu Fan took his seat, he found that Elder Han had not arrived yet. It was said that he would be coming soon.

In the lobby, quite a few people had already arrived.

Scanning around, Lu Fan could see that in each country’s area, there was a young person around 23 or 24 years old, who should be the representative participating in the National Trial Secret Realm.

At the same time, Lu Fan also saw Jin Chenghan sitting in the host’s position.

On this occasion, Jin Zhu did not have the qualification to appear, and Chen Tianzhi, who had come to Extremistis Country with Jin Zhu, naturally was not present either.

Jin Chenghan also saw Lu Fan, and his eyes immediately filled with hostility. It was as if he could not wait to go to the National Trial Secret Realm with Lu Fan right now.

Beside Jin Chenghan was a middle-aged man who looked somewhat similar to Jin Chenghan, probably an important figure from the Jin Family.

At this time, because the banquet had not started, the entire lobby was far from quiet, filled with a hubbub of voices.

However, suddenly, as a group of people entered the lobby, the entire hall fell silent, and for a moment, it was as quiet as a church mouse.
