Worthless Profession: Dragon Tamer

Chapter 213, Around the Abyss Entangler; World of Ice and Snow, with Biting Cold Winds

Translator: Silavin

[What a familiar sight!]

Clearly, this was part of the Far North region. It had been added as one of the nine areas in the National Trial Secret Realm. The only difference between this place and the actual Far North was that because the nine different areas were interconnected, there was no polar night to speak of.

Although the sky was full of wind and snow, and the environment was harsh, for Lu Fan, it felt as familiar as coming home.

Lu Fan checked his Mission Panel and Map Panel, and sure enough, they had both been updated.

On the Map Panel, Lu Fan’s current location was displayed. He was right in the middle of the Ice Plains area at the top of the screen.

And on the Mission Panel, a new National Trial Mission had been added. This Mission did not specify many requirements, it only recorded Lu Fan’s points and current ranking.

As for other people’s points and rankings, they were not displayed on the Mission Panel.

However, above Lu Fan’s head, his name, Level, Profession, Dragon Country’s flag, as well as his current points and point ranking were displayed.

[Seems like in the Secret Realm, everyone’s basic information would be displayed. If someone has a lot of points, it would be a great temptation for other representatives. How truly bloody. The rules of this Secret Realm are surely made to pit us against each other. But, that’s just excellent news for me!]

Now, Lu Fan just hoped that when the National Trial Mission progressed to the later stages and he could not hide his points anymore, others would not be scared off when they saw his score.

Lu Fan summoned Xiao Ye, then mounted her, while also summoning Xing Chen.

Xing Chen, this Daughter, was always aloof. After emerging from the Summoning Array, she had a look of not bothering with Lu Fan, merely wearing a world-weary expression. She glanced at Lu Fan as if to ask, ‘Why did you call me out here, in such cold weather?’

Lu Fan was quite helpless with his Third Daughter’s cold attitude, and could only say, “Xing Chen, for the next few days, I’ll take you to Level Up. Later, you can follow Xiao Ye and collect some Experience Points. What do you think about getting to your Growth Period earlier?”

*Ang!* Xing Chen opened her Dragon Mouth and agreed, but instead of flying herself, she came to Xiao Ye’s back, apparently fully prepared to hitchhike.

Xiao Ye did not mind this.

All along, Xiao Ye often bullied Xiao Cui, but never fought with Xing Chen.

It was not that Xiao Ye was a bully who only picked on a weak Support Specialised Dragon like Xiao Cui. It was because Xing Chen was indifferent to Lu Fan, so Xiao Ye would not be jealous of Xing Chen and act out against her.

So, even though Xing Chen was so lazy that she did not even want to fly herself and wanted Xiao Ye to carry her, Xiao Ye did not mind.

Seeing this, although Lu Fan felt helpless at how Xing Chen was, what else could he do? He could only dote on her.

“Let’s go, Xiao Ye.” Lu Fan grabbed the reins of the Dragon Saddle, and Xiao Ye immediately took to the air, carrying Lu Fan as they began to wander around, searching for the Dark Castle.

…

In the desert area, as the white light dissipated, Jin Chenghan also arrived in the Secret Realm of the National Trial.

Upon arrival, Jin Chenghan found himself in the familiar sea of sand. A slight smile appeared at the corners of his lips.

He tapped his staff, and immediately, a huge Summoning Array appeared.

As the Summoning Array took shape, an Abyss Summoned Beast emitting black gas rolled out from within.

This was a Monster as big as a building, with an Underworld-like appearance. Its entire body was made up of countless ugly Human heads.

Each Human head was large, with a diameter of about a metre.

After appearing, each head was spewing out black gas, while their mouths emitted screams and miserable howls, making one want to cover their ears.

After this Summoned Beast appeared, it was affected by the Secret Realm rules. Its Level and name were also displayed.

Level 61, Abyss Entangler.

This Summoned Beast was not a Combat Specialised Abyss Summon. However, for Jin Chenghan, it had a very useful Skill, comparable to a Divine Skill.

“Abyss Entangler, split and lurk!”

At Jin Chenghan’s command, sounds of flesh tearing came from the Abyss Entangler’s body. Two baby-like small hands began to grow from the cheek of each Human head.

These small hands pushed the huge heads away from the body, struggling to separate from the Abyss Entangler.

Finally, the huge Abyss Entangler completely disintegrated, turning into individual heads with small hands, scattered on the ground, then rolling away chaotically.

One of the heads, while emitting piercing howls, began to dig into the sand on the ground. It quickly buried itself in the sand, and its cries ceased.

It appeared as if that there was nothing unusual here. Who could imagine such a strange Summoned Beast to be hidden under this sand? Moreover, the heads buried underground were automatically Concealed. Even Players with Archer Type Professions with Perception Skills like Eagle Eye would not be able to detect the presence of the Abyss Entangler.

After the head buried itself in the ground, the other heads rolled further and further away, seemingly to scatter and find suitable positions to hide themselves.

Jin Chenghan smiled, about to continue summoning other Abyss Summons to take him Monster hunting. That was when he suddenly sensed something and abruptly turned to look behind him.

Less than two hundred metres away from him, there was a man in samurai armour, holding two katanas. He stepped on one of the Abyss Entangler’s heads and was smiling at him.

This man had untrimmed hair on his upper lip, and both katanas in his hands were flickering with fire, obviously of High Grade.

Above his head, his identity was clearly written.

Musashi Ten, Level 60, Ghost Samurai, Cherry Blossom Country, 0 points, Rank 1
On the Abyss Entangler head under Musashi Ten’s foot, there were two sword cuts.

These two cuts had directly killed this head.

Seeing this scene, Jin Chenghan’s facial muscles twitched, obviously angered.

“Musashi Ten, what are you doing!? Why did you kill my Summoned Beast!?” Jin Chenghan shouted angrily, but showed no intention of taking action.

Obviously, these two were not enemies.

Musashi Ten chuckled, flourished his two katanas, then sheathed them on his back in a dashing manner. As he walked towards Jin Chenghan, he said with a smile. “Don’t get angry. I was just curious. I merely found your Summoned Beast interesting and wanted to see if I could get points for killing it.”

At this point, Musashi Ten licked his lips and sneered. “Didn’t you say you were going to kill that Dragon Tamer from Dragon Country in the National Trial Secret Realm? Perfect, you go kill him, I’ll go slay his Dragon. If killing Summoned Beasts also earns points, I should be able to harvest quite a few points for slaying his Dragon, right?”
