Chapter 210, Epic Grade Boss – Nine Hell Demons

Translator: Silavin

This was the most crucial part of the National Trial Secret Realm, so everyone looked towards Jin Zaian.

At Jin Zaian’s command, the projector was turned on.

A map was displayed on the screen. A map which was divided into nine parts of different colours, each part with distinct terrain features. There were ice fields, mountains, forests, deserts…

At the same time, on each part of the map, there was a black skull icon marked, though its meaning was still unknown.

When this map appeared, many people present were surprised, because judging from the map’s size and scale, Extremistis Country had really invested heavily in creating this Secret Realm.

The area was extremely large, almost comparable to a small country. It could be seen that it was composed of nine different areas pieced together, with varying terrains. This meant that there would certainly be Monsters of different Elements available to be hunted.

Seeing everyone’s surprise, Jin Zaian was very satisfied and slowly introduced: “I believe you can all see very clearly that this year’s National Trial Secret Realm created by our Extremistis Country is the largest one in recent years. In this map, we have taken different parts of Wilderness, from the Far North, Desert Corpse Forest, Obscure Forest, and other areas, replicated them, and pieced them together. Finally, we’ve formed this ultimate environment.”

“Inside the Secret Realm, Monsters range from Level 50 to Level 80, covering all Levels. Monster Types also range from ordinary Monsters to Elite Monsters, Mini Bosses, all the way to Diamond Grade Bosses. All can be found, in great variety.”

“Of course, the points each Monster can provide are also divided according to their strength. The specific point values will need to be uncovered by the representatives of each country once they enter the Secret Realm. But overall, the stronger the Monster, the higher the points for killing them, that’s for certain.”

“Inside, apart from Monsters, there are also Mission Scrolls refreshing in various places. After receiving a Mission from a Mission Scroll and completing it, you can get generous reward points.”

“To get a good ranking on the scoreboard, it’s necessary to accept as many Missions as possible. The contents of these Missions are also diverse, such as hunting Bosses, or hunting a certain number of Monsters, or going to specified coordinates to obtain certain Mission Items and etc. All completely random.”

“Of course, each person can only accept one Mission at a time. If the current Mission has not been completed, you won’t be able to take on new Missions.”

“Basically, these are the rules. The rest of the rules are the same as in the previous years. Killing is allowed in the National Trial Secret Realm, and after killing someone, the points of the deceased are automatically transferred to the killer.”

After saying this, a chill could clearly be felt in the hall.

Lu Fan had known early on that in the National Trial Secret Realm, it was all about raw strength. There was no such thing as pulling punches. In fact, looking at the rules, killing was encouraged in the Secret Realm.

After all, the points on any Monster were not as many as those on the representatives of each country. If one could kill a representative from another country, it would surely be a huge bonus.

Everyone knew the basic rules before coming, so there were no objections.

At this time, an delegate from Romantic Country looked at the nine black skulls on the map and asked, puzzled. “We all know the rules, but what do these skulls on the map represent? There isn’t anything like this on previous years’ maps.”

Jin Zaian smiled and nodded. “These skulls are part of the new rules added by our Extremistis Country. Their purpose is to put more pressure on the representatives participating in this year’s National Trial Secret Realm.”

“These nine skulls represent Nine Dark Castles. In each Dark Castle, we have designed a Boss to guard it. They are modelled after the Nine Hell Demon that once plagued our Extremistis Country. All of you should know that fifty years ago, our Extremistis Country suffered a disaster when someone accidentally released the Nine Hell Demons in a new area of our country, causing Extremistis Country to pay a heavy price.”

“The Nine Hell Demons in the Secret Realm are all Level 85 Epic Grade Bosses. In the past, the Nine Hell Demon led their Demon Army to successfully capture many of our cities. In the end, it took five Fourth Profession Players from Extremistis Country, working together, to kill the Nine Hell Demons and finally restore peace.”

The Romantic Country representative who had just asked about the skulls changed his expression upon hearing this and said. “I’ve heard about the Nine Hell Demons. It’s said that although they have not yet reached Level 90, as an Epic Grade Boss, they can only be dealt with by teams composed of Fourth Profession Players. The five Fourth Profession Players from Extremistis Country who fought them became famous after that battle. They are now named the Five National Guardians. They are among the most famous expert Players in Extremistis Country today.”

Jin Zaian smiled and said. “That’s right, the nine in the Secret Realm are going to be the same Nine Hell Demons from that time. Now, with the help of our Secret Realm builders, they have been ‘resurrected’ in this map.”

*Ahhhh* The sound of sharp inhales could be heard.

[Adding Nine Hell Demons to this Secret Realm!? Isn’t this madness!?]

The representative from Eternal Country put his hands together and bowed his head, asking. “Mr. Jin, I wonder if the Attributes of these Nine Hell Demons have been weakened compared to the original? If they are as strong as before, won’t these Nine Bosses be like massive bombs?”

Others also looked at Jin Zaian, wanting to know exactly what Four Attributes these Nine Hell Demons had.

Jin Zaian smiled and answered. “Good question. This is the most interesting design of this year’s National Trial Secret Realm. The Attributes of the Nine Hell Demons have not been weakened at all. They are exactly the same as when they rampaged through our Extremistis Country back then. In fact, not only have their Attributes not been weakened, we have also equipped them with their original armies, ensuring that everyone who encounters a Dark Castle can experience the oppressive feeling of the Nine Hell Demons from that time.”

“What!?”

Immediately, the hall exploded with noise.

These were the great Bosses that once caused casualties of over a million civilians in Extremistis Country. Not only had they put them in the National Trial Secret Realm, but they had even equipped them with their armies.

Was this not the same as planting bombs in the Secret Realm, nine of which could not be touched!?

Even though several of the national representatives participating in this year’s National Trial Secret Realm were Third Profession Players, making it the strongest group in recent years, if they were faced against Level 85 Epic Grade Bosses, how could these representatives have any chance to fight back?

They would probably be killed instantly upon first sight!

Epic Grade Bosses were the Highest Grade of Wilderness Bosses, corresponding to at least Nightmare Bosses in Secret Realms and Dungeon Instances.

For a Dungeon Instance or Secret Realm with a Level 85 Nightmare Boss, even Fourth Profession Players needed at least a full ten man team to try and challenge it.

Everyone was already shocked and confused about the arrangement of nine Level 85 Epic Grade Bosses in the Dungeon Instance. However, Jin Zaian immediately dropped another bombshell!

Silavin: Hmm… even if I want to keep things consistent, the Author just keeps switching between difficult and rarity grades for Bosses. If that’s the case, might as well do a comparison.
