Worthless Profession: Dragon Tamer

Chapter 239, You Couldn’t Have Killed One of the Nine Hell Demons, Right?

Translator: Silavin

After nearly four hours of flying, Lu Fan finally approached the target’s location while riding Xiao Ye.

By now, Lu Fan had already left the Ice Plains region and arrived at this Swamp region.

The Swamp region was a replica of a map from Eternal Country called Black Poison Miasma Forest.

Before entering the National Trial Secret Realm, Lu Fan had done his homework and knew this would be placed in the centre of the whole map, because its environment was more hostile compared to other regions.

Inherently, this was a Swamp – without a Sky Mount, Movement Speed would be severely restricted. Additionally, the air contained deadly poison. Staying in this region for too long would lead to Attribute reduction from accumulated poison, and could even result in death.

Lu Fan noticed that Kiran had been in the centre of the Swamp region from the start, suggesting these harsh conditions likely did not affect him much.

The other party remained motionless, clearly waiting for Lu Fan. Lu Fan also knew this map must be advantageous for them, which is why they specifically chose this location for battle.

Little did they know that Lu Fan was equally unaffected by the Swamp.

After all, the Dragon Race had a 100% Debuff Resistance.

Even knowing the other party had likely made thorough preparations, Lu Fan showed no fear and headed directly to their location.

Soon, Lu Fan arrived above a massive swamp pool.

This swamp pool emitted a stench and was quite large, like a great lake with a diameter of at least ten kilometres.

Within the swamp pool stood many blackened trees, with moss floating on the surface, and numerous spots bubbling up dark green Poisonous Miasma with a *glug glug* sound.

Such a filthy place greatly displeased Xiao Ye. As a noble Dragon, she could not bear to have her scales dirtied.

Lu Fan also frowned here while checking his Map Panel, His position had some overlap with Kiran’s, indicating they were nearby.

However, looking around, there was nothing in sight, not even a single Monster.

Lu Fan slightly narrowed his eyes, using his Black Dragon Perception.

Instantly, Lu Fan sensed some presence hiding in the darkness.

Lu Fan smiled inwardly, thinking his suspicions had been confirmed, [Yup. The other party have prepared something for me.]

However, what Lu Fan did not expect was that there was not just one person, but four!

[I guess alliances aren’t that uncommon in the National Trial.] Lu Fan drew out his Flaming Meteor Sword, its blade glowing with Dragon Qi. With one swing, he sent an attack slicing down into the swamp pool below.

Instantly, several metres of mud and foetid water splashed up, with blood spreading through the water below.

Following this, the previously calm swamp pool suddenly began boiling like a pot, churning frantically before a seven-coloured python raised its body, looking up at Lu Fan and letting out a chilling roar.

On its back was a visible wound. It was currently bleeding – the result of Lu Fan’s earlier strike.

It must be said that this seven-coloured python surviving Lu Fan’s strike was partly because Lu Fan only used 30% of his power. Nevertheless, this also showed that its Attributes was quite high, and was likely a carefully raised Pet.

Being struck by Lu Fan’s sword, the seven-coloured python was clearly enraged.

However, it had barely emerged and bared its fangs at Lu Fan when it saw Xiao Ye under Lu Fan.

Instantly, the seven-coloured python’s expression changed drastically, its previous ferocity completely vanishing, replaced by submission.

From its bloody maw, a person crawled out, disregarding the foul mud covering the seven-coloured python as this person made their way to its head.

The information above this person’s head showed this person was Lu Fan’s target – Eternal Country’s Kiran.

Kiran was quite shocked that Lu Fan could locate him. Looking up at Lu Fan in the air with a shadowed gaze, he said, “I had used my Snake Breath Concealment Skill, yet you could still find me and even wound my Xiao Qi (Little Seven). You do have some skill…”

Lu Fan naturally would not directly reveal that any Concealment Skills were useless before him, much less mention that he could sense not just Kiran, but also his three companions and all the traps they had set up.

Lu Fan wanted to see how they would reveal their four men team.

After pondering over what to do next, Lu Fan smiled and said, “I could see your coordinates, and since your position was here but you were invisible, you must be hiding in the swamp pool. Not really that hard to deduce, don’t you think?”

Kiran believed Lu Fan, since Skills that could see through Concealment were rare.

Moreover, if Lu Fan could truly see through his Concealment, he might as well force Wei Ji and the others to reveal themselves.

Currently, it seemed like the other party still knew nothing about everything here. In Kiran’s mind, he and his team still held the absolute initiative.

Thinking this, Kiran relaxed somewhat, smiling and shaking his head. “I was careless. Seems like I should change locations if this happens again.”

“By the way, you’re quite unfortunate to receive the Mission to hunt me. If I remember correctly, you should be the Dragon Country representative, Lu Fan, right? I had hoped it would be a Player coming to give me more points. But it’s just you. Even if I kill you, I won’t get much… Wait! How do you have so many points!?”

Kiran’s words stuttered halfway through. Because when he casually glanced at Lu Fan’s points, he was instantly shocked.

[Nearly six hundred thousand points, ranked first?! I worked so hard killing Monsters to get sixty thousand points, barely ranking sixth, and your points are ten times of mine!? Is he even Human!? He couldn’t have killed one of the Nine Hell Demons, right!? This is too ridiculous!]

After confirming many times, Kiran had to come to terms with Lu Fan really having almost six hundred thousand points.

Beyond his shock, Kiran came to his senses and felt great joy.

After all, did he not want the ‘hunter’ to have a lot of points? This was exactly what he had hoped for. If he could kill Lu Fan and take his points, would he not get rich in one go?

At that time, he would definitely secure the top position on the rankings, even Charles and Andrei would be beneath him!

Kiran’s attention towards Lu Fan had obviously changed, to one of seeing a fat sheep. It was eyes filled with greed.

As for how Lu Fan had obtained so many points, Kiran had considered it.

Earlier Lu Fan’s single sword strike had wounded his Pet, showing he was extremely strong – someone who could not be underestimated just because of his Low Level.

But so what?

He had laid out an inescapable net here – now that Lu Fan had come, he could only become a fortune-bringing boy and obediently hand over both his points and his life!
