Worthless Profession: Dragon Tamer

Chapter 206, The Three Elders of Dragon Country

Translator: Silavin

Golden Jade City in Extremistis Country was at least several thousand kilometres away from the Dragon Capital. For such a long distance, using a Transport Array would be easiest. However, Transport Arrays were prohibited from crossing international borders. If done, it would be a serious crime.

So, Lu Fan could only travel to Extremistis Country’s Golden Jade City by plane.

Although it took more time, it only required sleeping on the plane for one night, and they would arrive early the next morning.

Early the next morning, the plane landed on schedule.

This flight was a private charter booked by Dragon Country. Apart from Lu Fan, the Shadow Guards protecting Lu Fan, and Zhao Shengming, about ten teachers from Dragon Capital University responsible for logistics were also on board.

For this trip to Extremistis Country, Lu Fan need not worry about food, accommodation, or transportation. Dragon Capital University and Dragon Country had already arranged everything.

After the plane landed, Lu Fan followed Zhao Shengming and the other teachers, escorted by the Shadow Guards, off the plane.

As soon as they got off the plane, Lu Fan saw a group of people who had been waiting for a long time beside the aircraft. Among them was a kind-looking Elder in his fifties, who did not exude the sharpness of an expert, but rather a sense of approachability.

He wore a grey trench coat and had gold-rimmed glasses on his face. Seeing Lu Fan and the others walk off the plane, his smile grew even warmer.

Beside him was a group of guards, even more numerous than those escorting Lu Fan. Moreover, the two guards protecting him closely did not conceal their auras at all, directly displaying their Levels, as if to intimidate others at all times.

These two guards were Level 91 and Level 94 respectively, both Fourth Profession Players, with Combat Power capable of ranking among top experts.

[Being closely protected by four Fourth Profession guards, along with nearly twenty Third Profession guards, this person’s identity must not be simple…] Lu Fan could see that this person was waiting here to receive them. However, Lu Fan had not heard anyone mention that someone would come to receive them when they arrived here today. Furthermore, it seemed to be an important figure who had come.

Lu Fan wanted to ask Zhao Shengming beside him who this person was, but when he turned his head, he found that Zhao Shengming’s face was full of shock. His body was even trembling a bit. His steps unconsciously quickened, as if unwilling to let the person in front wait in place for too long.

Seeing this, Lu Fan did not say anything and followed behind Zhao Shengming.

The other party stepped forward to greet them, finally meeting Lu Fan, Zhao Shengming, and the others.

Instantly, the Shadow Guards behind Lu Fan all knelt on one knee and bowed.

Lu Fan understood that in this world’s Dragon Country, this was the courtesy shown to superiors. [This Elder’s identity is truly not that simple.]

Zhao Shengming, Lu Fan, and the others from Dragon Capital University were not official personnel so they did not need to follow this etiquette. Even so, Zhao Shengming’s respect for this Elder could not be expressed merely through etiquette. He extended both hands to shake hands with the Elder, his emotions stirred. “Elder Han, why are you here? And you came here personally to receive us, this is too much…”

The person called ‘Elder Han’ smiled with great warmth, shaking hands with Zhao Shengming with one hand while patting the back of Zhao Shengming’s hand with the other, saying, “What’s improper about this? Those of Dragon Capital University select talents, fighting and bleeding for our Dragon Country. Meanwhile, I just move my lips a bit and had merely come to receive you. Isn’t this what we should do?”

“This… this…” Zhao Shengming seemed at a loss, “This is too much of an honour for us…”

“Come on. You are heroes of Dragon Country, how is this too much honour?” Elder Han released his hand and smiled, “The cars responsible for taking you to the hotel are outside the airport. Let’s ride together.”

As he spoke, Elder Han’s gaze fell on Lu Fan, his smile growing even warmer, “This must be our Dragon Country representative, Lu Fan, right?”

Zhao Shengming hurriedly stepped aside, letting Lu Fan come forward, while saying, “That’s right, this is the representative selected by our Dragon Capital University, Dragon Tamer Lu Fan. He has already undergone his Second Profession Change, and his Profession is now Silver Dragon Rider.”

After saying this, Zhao Shengming also noticed that Lu Fan did not seem to recognize the Elder before them, so he lowered his voice and introduced quietly. “This is Han Feibai, Elder Han, one of the Three Elders of Dragon Country.”

[One of the Three Elders of Dragon Country, Han Feibai!?] Lu Fan was shocked, immediately understanding why someone as steady as Zhao Shengming would lose composure upon seeing Elder Han.

The Three Elders of Dragon Country were truly massive figures in Dragon Country. No, they should be called the biggest among the big figures!

The Three Elders of Dragon Country were the highest authorities in Dragon Country. In terms of status, no one in Dragon Country could surpass them.

Strictly speaking, even the Northern Marquis Tu Jing was actually under the command of the Three Elders of Dragon Country.

Although Lu Fan had known about the title of the Three Elders of Dragon Country early on, the three were usually very low-profile. In ordinary news and on the internet, one could only see their spokespersons speaking on their behalf, while the three themselves basically never appeared in public.

So, Lu Fan did not know what the Three Elders looked like. This was the first time he had seen one of them, Elder Han. Thus, it was normal for Lu Fan to not recognize him.

Facing such an important figure, Lu Fan naturally could not be negligent. He bowed slightly and said respectfully, “Greetings, Elder Han.”

“Haha, no need to be so formal!” Elder Han’s eyes were full of appreciation as he looked at Lu Fan.

He patted Lu Fan’s shoulder and said, “I know quite a bit about you. To have such strength at such a young age is truly remarkable. You are the only Dragon Tamer in history to possess a Pure Blood Giant Dragon, and have unlimited future potential. In this National Trial, our Dragon Country has placed heavy bets on you. You must perform well when you return. I dare say, when you return from the National Trial, you will definitely be a hero of our Dragon Country!”

Lu Fan smiled and said. “Elder Han, you flatter me. I will do my best in the National Trial.”

“Good.” Elder Han nodded with satisfaction and said, “By the way, Tu Jing and I are good friends, and he has often mentioned you in our conversations. In the future, if you encounter any troubles, feel free to go to Tu Jing for help. If Tu Jing can’t solve it, tell him to come find me!”

This statement was almost like setting up an iron pillar of support for Lu Fan.

Lu Fan had not expected that coming to participate in the National Trial would allow him to meet such an important figure. Logically speaking, although the National Trial was important, there was no shortage of matters more important than the National Trial in Dragon Country.

Theoretically, the highest-ranking official personnel representing Dragon Country to oversee the battle in Extremistis Country should have at most been a Marquis like Tu Jing. Who could have imagined that one of the Three Elders of Dragon Country would personally come?

That was why it was not strange for Zhao Shengming to be so surprised. Elder Han’s appearance here was unexpected not only to him but also to official personnel from the other countries.
