Worthless Profession: Dragon Tamer

Chapter 236, Extremistis Country Cannot Afford to Lose

Translator: Silavin

Once Lu Fan topped the real-time points ranking with an absolute lead, all those watching the National Trial were in uproar.

Those from Dragon Country were naturally the most excited. They had initially been worried when learning that Lu Fan was only Level 34 upon entering the National Trial, and was at the bottom of the rankings for a while after the trial had first begun.

But Lu Fan’s points suddenly rocketed up like a missile, reaching five hundred thousand points in the blink of an eye, almost ten times that of the second place Jin Chenghan!

This drove those of Dragon Country crazy. They were now cheering for Lu Fan on various media platforms and calling him Dragon Country’s hero.

In contrast, Extremistis Country’s reaction was the complete opposite.

When Jin Chenghan was leading the rankings with even Charles and Andrei beneath him, Extremistis Country netizens were boasting wildly, mocking others on international websites – ‘This is the strength of our Extremistis Country’s representative! Even Dragon Country, Feather Country, and Star Strip Country’s representatives are beneath him!’

‘Haven’t Dragon Country, Feather Country, and Star Strip Country monopolised first place in previous years?’

‘This year, you three countries aren’t up to the task!’

‘The first place in this year’s National Trial will definitely go to our Extremistis Country!’

But before these self-satisfied Extremistis Country netizens could truly gloat, Jin Chenghan was overtaken by Lu Fan, who left him so far behind he could not even see his taillights.

Feather Country and Star Strip Country netizens remained silent, since Charles and Andrei were still beneath Jin Chenghan. However, Dragon Country netizens were all laughing hysterically, dragging out those Extremistis Country comments to mock – ‘Your Extremistis Country wants first place so badly? With points ten times less than our Dragon Country representative, how can you get first place?!’

‘Trash is trash, we were just letting you have a head start, but you took yourself too seriously. Haiz…’

‘Our Dragon Country representative Lu Fan let you farm points for nearly ten hours, but you couldn’t seize the opportunity and got overtaken so quickly. What an embarrassment!’

‘We gave you a chance, but it is you useless people who couldn’t handle it!’

‘Looking like this and still wanting first place in the National Trial? First try to catch up to our Dragon Country representative’s tail lights before talking!’

Dragon Country netizens’ fighting spirit was truly explosive. They immediately drive those previously ‘trash talking’ Extremistis Country netizens into a humiliating retreat, no longer daring to gloat like before.

However, those from Extremistis Country naturally would not just end it there.

Seeing Lu Fan’s explosive growth in points, countless netizens and citizens became disgruntled. They started making phone calls, sending emails, and using various media channels to question how the Dragon Country representative was rapidly gaining points. They all believe he must be cheating!

Everyone demanded that Dragon Country’s representative be disqualified, allowing Jin Chenghan to take back first place.

Extremistis Country quickly stirred up a wave of public opinion, calling for Lu Fan’s removal from the National Trial. They were putting pressure on Jin Zaian, Extremistis Country’s overall supervisor and host for this National Trial..

Learning of this, Jin Zaian was amazingly frustrated. [Don’t you think that I want Lu Fan out of the National Trial as well? The problem is that there is absolutely no evidence showing Lu Fan had cheated! His point acquisition in the National Trial showed no problems whatsoever. If we kick Lu Fan out without a reason, would Dragon Country accept it? Would the other 21 countries accept this?]

[With Elder Han’s capabilities, if this matter was eventually proven to be Extremistis Country’s mistake, not only would Extremistis Country forever lose our right to host the National Trial, but the Twenty-Three Country Alliance might even kick Extremistis Country out, never allowing us to participate in the National Trial again! Under such conditions, without sufficient evidence, I dare not act rashly.]

With those from Extremistis Country making such a fuss, word of them wanting to disqualify Lu Fan spread to the other countries. It made Extremistis Country a laughing stock.

Just because another country’s representative gained too many points, Extremistis Country wants to disqualify them? What a joke!

‘Those of Extremistis Country sure are kind!’ Others mocked, ‘They are willing to take first place in the National Trial with honour and take all the wagered resources, but when it is the opposite, they’re putting on this show to make a mockery of themselves.’

For a time, countries worldwide were filled with voices mocking Extremistis Country.

‘If you can’t accept losing, why even play!?’

‘Go back to picking vegetables!’

…

Lu Fan knew nothing of what was happening in the outside world. If he did, he would have definitely joined in, throwing more stones at them.

Currently, Lu Fan was comfortably resting in the Dark Castle, with the Monster killing and point farming basically ‘contracted out’ to the Fallen Corpse Puppets, requiring no effort from him at all.

So, Lu Fan was just constantly receiving points. It was just not as terrifyingly fast as when he cleared this Dark Castle.

Wanting to get as many points as possible, Lu Fan was steadily clearing this region before preparing to move on to the next.

After the Dark Castle roamed the Ice Plains for about a day, Lu Fan finally sat up from his throne. Through the throne’s monitors of outside the Dark Castle, he saw a Mission Scroll appearing in the distance…

At the same time, there was a representative killing Monsters near the scroll, seemingly interested in it.

Coincidentally, this representative was Lu Fan’s ‘old acquaintance’ from this Ice Plains region- Yasanglai from South Country.

Lu Fan did not want the Mission Scroll he had finally spotted to be snatched by someone else, so he planned to intercept it.

Instead of Riding his Pet Dragon, Lu Fan directly manifested his Flying Dragon King’s Bone Wings and flew out from the Dark Castle toward the distant Mission Scroll.

On the other side, Yasanglai was currently struggling to kill Monsters, delighted that the nearby Mission Scroll was within reach.

However, just as Yasanglai thought he would get this Mission Scroll, he suddenly caught sight of a Dark Castle in his peripheral vision.

Instantly, Yasanglai shuddered, his back soaked in cold sweat. [To encounter a Dark Castle at this moment, what horrendous luck!]

Yasanglai knew well that for him, the Dark Castle was akin to death’s incarnate. Once targeted by the Monsters inside, he would definitely die. So he immediately chose to abandon this Mission Scroll and escape to a safe place.

This was especially so when he saw a Human figure flying out of the Dark Castle, heading straight for him!

Fearing the figure was coming for him, Yasanglai immediately used all his strength to try to break free from his entanglement with the few Monsters before him and escape.

However, the more anxious he was, the easier it was to show weaknesses. Originally, Yasanglai could have handled these few Silver Grade Bosses before him without issue if he was careful. But now, he carelessly let an Ice Plain Snow Spider shoot out a large web, trapping him in place.

Yasanglai felt like crying, frantically slashing at the tough spider web with his sword, trying to break free before that figure arrived.

However, the other person’s speed was clearly faster than he expected, reaching above him in an instant.

Yasanglai’s heart sank, but when he looked up, he was stunned.

The figure was not a Monster, but the Dragon Country representative, Lu Fan.

Yasanglai was confused, not understanding why a representative would fly out of a Dark Castle.
