Worthless Profession: Dragon Tamer

Chapter 218, Mission – Hunt the Nine Hell Demon

Translator: Silavin

Lu Fan did not care about what Yasanglai was thinking. The Boss in front of him should also provide a good amount of points and Experience Points. Appearing here to block him from getting the Mission Scroll naturally made Lu Fan want to kill it.

Lu Fan took out the Flaming Meteor Sword. Riding Xiao Ye to circle in the air, he swung his sword down.

This slash did not use any Skills; it was a normal attack.

But under the effect of the Dragon Saddle, streams of Dragon Power flowed into Lu Fan’s arm. The Flaming Meteor Sword immediately burst into flames, and Sword Qi carrying waves of heat shot out from the blade. Even though Lu Fan was hundreds of metres above the ground, the Sword Qi of this slash still struck the ground, enveloping the Ice Plains Yeti King.

The Dragon Saddle allowed Lu Fan’s attacks to become Range Attacks. Even in the sky, he could still attack ground units.

Lu Fan did not even need to use Underworld Serpent’s Cry. After this slash fell, it instantly caused a terrifying effect!

With a thunderous *boom*, the Sword Qi hit the ground. It was a hundred metres long and five metres wide. Although the Ice Plains Yeti King’s body was huge, it still looked weak in front of the massive Sword Qi.

Lu Fan’s Strength Attribute at this time easily exceeded 10,000. The power of this slash was not something the Ice Plains Yeti King could possibly withstand.

In just one strike, before the Ice Plains Yeti King could even look at the Sun in the sky, it was sliced apart by Lu Fan’s single slash!

At the same time, after the Sword Qi of this slash shattered the Ice Plains Yeti King, it struck the ground, immediately causing snow to fly and ice to shatter. The sound from this strike was deafening.

The Sword Qi striking the ground created a gust that sent Yasanglai flying, triggering a small avalanche.

Rolling snow fell, burying the grounded Yasanglai within.

The cold gradually brought Yasanglai back from his Frightened State, and the weakness in his body had receded a bit.

He immediately began to struggle in the snow, finally poking his head out.

After escaping with his life, Yasanglai immediately looked towards Lu Fan’s direction, wanting to know what had just happened.

However, this glance made him draw in a sharp breath, feeling his whole body tremble.

The mountain where he had been fighting earlier had now been completely sliced in two. A smooth, slanted cliff had appeared on the side, clearly cut by Lu Fan’s Sword Qi in that single slash.

[If that slash had hit me…]

*Siiii…* Yasanglai drew in a sharp breath. The Ice Plains Yeti King that had been directly hit by Lu Fan’s attack was now nowhere to be seen. However, a white furry arm lying on the sliced surface of the mountain told Yasanglai that this Level 75 Gold Grade Boss had been one-shot by Lu Fan.

One slash had instantly killed a Boss and even directly sliced apart a mountain.

[Just how terrifyingly powerful was that slash!?] Yasanglai had fought with the Ice Plains Yeti Chieftain and knew how strong this type of Boss was. The Ice Plains Yeti King, which was even stronger than the Ice Plains Yeti Chieftain, could not even withstand a single slash from Lu Fan. This just showed how ridiculous of an existence Lu Fan was!

[Is he really a Level 34 Player!? I’d believe it if he was said to be a Level 80 Humanoid Boss!] Instantly, Yasanglai’s whole body began to tremble again.

He was now in great fear. If Lu Fan’s response to him earlier was not to ignore him, but instead that slash, he would have been dead by now.

Yasanglai also did not understand why Lu Fan had not killed him to take his points.

When he looked up at Lu Fan, he found that Lu Fan had already ridden away with his Black Dragon and had accepted the Mission Scroll.

The scroll turned into golden light and entered Lu Fan’s body.

At the same time, a line of small text appeared above Lu Fan’s head:

Accepted Mission: Hunt Boss – Level 85 Epic Boss, Diabolical Hell Demon.
Instantly, Yasanglai was shocked.

It was one thing that the Mission Lu Fan accepted was a Boss Hunting Mission, but how could the Boss to be hunted be one of the Nine Hell Demons?!

This Mission was simply impossible for anyone to complete. Accepting this Mission meant that in the National Trial Secret Realm, the path of earning points through Missions was now blocked!

After all, if the Mission was not completed, there was no way to accept other Missions. If Lu Fan did not kill one of the Nine Hell Demons, he could only earn points by hunting Monsters and killing representatives from other countries.

For a moment, Yasanglai felt extremely lucky. Because before the Mission Scroll was accepted, no one knew what the Mission inside was.

If Lu Fan had not accepted this Mission, he would have been the one to accept the Mission!

[I guess this was what we can call a blessing in disguise…]

However, at the same time, Yasanglai prayed, [Since he has just received such an impossible Mission, will he become enraged and kill me to vent his anger?]

He nervously looked at Lu Fan but found that after accepting the Mission, Lu Fan showed no signs of frustration. Instead, he looked overjoyed, as if he had just picked up tens of thousands of points for free.

Lu Fan had no intention of taking out his anger on Yasanglai. Instead, he rode the Black Dragon and flew off in a certain direction.

Yasanglai breathed a sigh of relief. He saw Lu Fan’s reaction as really strange.

Thinking back to the banquet last night, when Lu Fan had asked if killing the Nine Hell Demons would also earn points, Yasanglai suddenly had a bold idea. [Could it be? Is Lu Fan really going to complete the Mission and kill a Hell Demon!?]

Yasanglai felt like his worldview was about to collapse. After all, that was a Hell Demon! Others would escape as fast as they could, but this Lu Fan wanted to go and kill it!?

[Heavens… Has he gone mad!?]

…

Outside the National Trial Secret Realm, in Dragon Country’s observation room.

It was a small room, equipped with sofas and tea. These respective rooms were for the delegates from various countries to observe and monitor their respective representatives.

Originally, when Lu Fan first entered and started wandering around the Secret Realm, not rushing to farm Monsters for points, neither Elder Han nor Zhao Shengming were in a hurry. Because one understood Lu Fan, and the other had keen insight. They were both confident in Lu Fan.

They knew that Lu Fan must have had his own reason for not rushing to farm points when he first entered but instead searching around the Secret Realm.

Later, when Lu Fan casually killed a Boss with one slash, it left both Elder Han and Zhao Shengming speechless.

Especially Zhao Shengming, who thought he had understood how strong Lu Fan was quite well. But after Lu Fan went to the Far North and Levelled Up twice, becoming a true Dragon Knight, his own Combat Power skyrocketed even further.

Now, even Zhao Shengming felt that he increasingly did not know just how strong Lu Fan really was.

Zhao Shengming was almost certain that in this National Trial, Lu Fan’s first place was guaranteed!

However, when Lu Fan obtained the Mission Scroll and received the Mission to kill a Hell Demon, Zhao Shengming obviously became a bit restless.

“How could this Mission appear in a Mission Scroll!?” Zhao Shengming was very indignant, abruptly standing up. “This is clearly an impossible Mission to complete! Lu Fan has received such a Mission right off the bat! How can he rely on Mission Scrolls to earn points now!? The design of this Mission is problematic in and of itself. This is too outrageous! I want to appeal and revoke the Mission that Lu Fan had accepted!”

Saying this, Zhao Shengming was about to go find the organisers, which was Extremistis Country’s Secret Realm construction team.

However, Elder Han remained calm. He sat steadily on the sofa and advised. “Vice Principal Zhao, there’s no need to get angry. I believe that even if you proceed to make an appeal, Extremistis Country won’t resolve this issue.”
