Worthless Profession: Dragon Tamer

Chapter 202, Xian’er Left Something for You

Translator: Silavin

Two days passed quickly.

During this time, Lu Fan secluded himself in his room for a full two days, committing all the information to memory.

On the third day, Tu Jing came to find Lu Fan of his own accord, informing him that Zhao Shengming from Dragon Capital University had just contacted him, asking him to send Lu Fan back to Dragon Capital University.

This was because Dragon Capital University was now prepared to send Lu Fan to Extremistis Country to officially participate in the National Trial.

In other words, it was time for Lu Fan to leave the Far North.

Although the environment here was harsh, Lu Fan had a level of fondness for this place. After all, everyone here had taken such good care of him, especially Lui Fei and the others.

Before leaving, Lu Fan made a point to say goodbye to Lui Fei and the others.

Originally, Lu Fan wanted to return his uniform along with the Silver Wing Medal to Tu Jing, but Tu Jing only took back the Griffin Legion Uniform, leaving the Silver Wing Medal with Lu Fan.

Regarding this, Tu Jing said half-jokingly and half-seriously that the Military Merits in this Medal would be temporarily left with Lu Fan. In case Lu Fan really became a member of the Griffin Legion in the future. That way, he could start directly from Silver Wing, without wasting his efforts so far.

Moreover, the Griffin Legion’s Silver Wing Medal was a very powerful pass in Dragon Country, and Tu Jing allowed Lu Fan to use the identity of a Griffin Legion Silver Wing Knight when travelling outside, to avoid unnecessary trouble.

In the end, Lu Fan kept this Medal and was sent back to Dragon Capital University by Tu Jing using the Transport Array.

The place where Lu Fan was teleported to was inside the principal’s office at Dragon Capital University.

However, the principal was not here. Rather, the person who received him was Zhao Shengming, along with a group of High Level Players dressed in black.

Seeing Lu Fan return, Zhao Shengming came forward with a smile to greet him, inquiring about Lu Fan’s recent situation.

Lu Fan answered briefly, then asked curiously why the principal was not here, and who these people in black were.

Zhao Shengming smiled and said, “The principal had some matters to attend to and has left Dragon Capital University. All affairs of the academy are now being handled by me. This includes the matter of you participating in the National Trial. Originally, the plan was for the principal to accompany you to the National Trial, but after the principal had left, this responsibility fell onto me.”

As he spoke, Zhao Shengming pointed to the people in black beside him and smiled, “As for these people, they are Dragon Country’s Shadow Guards, sent by the government to ensure your safety during your journey to Extremistis Country to participate in the National Trial. It’s precisely because the Shadow Guards have been dispatched to ensure your safety that I discussed with the Northern Marquis to bring you back and prepare for your departure to Extremistis Country.”

Lu Fan had heard of Dragon Country’s Shadow Guards.

Although the Shadow Guards did not belong to Dragon Country’s four ace military units, they were equivalent to the imperial guards of ancient times. They were specifically responsible for protecting important figures, so their strength naturally did not need to be explained.

Just from Lu Fan’s current observation, among the dozen or so people present, almost all were Third Profession Players, and there was even an Elder who looked to be in his sixties or seventies, probably a Fourth Profession Player, with a sharp aura emanating from him. He was clearly of a very High Level.

With these people around, assassinating Lu Fan would indeed be virtually impossible.

After learning of the situation, Lu Fan thanked the Shadow Guards, but none of them made any extra movement. Only the Elder waved his hand, responding to Lu Fan that there was nothing for him to thank them for, they were just here to carry out their Mission.

After explaining the situation here to Lu Fan, Zhao Shengming explained how the government and Dragon Capital University had booked a flight that would take Lu Fan to Prosperous Jade City in Extremistis Country tomorrow at noon.

For the next day or so, Lu Fan could rest well at the University. If he needed anything, he could feel free to ask the University, and they would try their best to satisfy him.

Lu Fan thought for a moment and had no other requests, only saying that he needed a Pet Slot Expansion Scroll. He hoped that Zhao Shengming could see if the University could get one for him. Other than that, he had no other requests.

Zhao Shengming nodded and immediately made a phone call, asking the teacher in charge of the trading center and the logistics department to check their records. If they found a Pet Slot Expansion Scroll, they were to send it immediately to Lu Fan.

Afterwards, Lu Fan did not stay for long in the principal’s office. Surrounded by Zhao Shengming and a group of Shadow Guards, he walked out of the administrative building and returned to Villa No. 2.

After a month away, Dragon Capital University was still very much the same as before.

Villa No. 1 was currently being rebuilt, and it was believed that before long, Lu Fan and the others would be able to move back in.

Lu Fan returned to Villa No. 2, while the Shadow Guards remained outside, not entering. This way, Lu Fan had his own private space.

They were essentially Lu Fan’s personal bodyguards, following him wherever he went. However, Lu Fan could completely ignore them, treating them as if they were not there.

Inside Villa No. 2, Han Ke and the others had already received news of Lu Fan’s imminent return and had prepared a big feast to welcome him back.

It had to be said that what Lu Fan missed most while in the Far North was the taste of his Aunt’s cooking.

Jian Ying and the others were all here. Now, everyone had finally gathered together, eating a lively lunch together while listening to Lu Fan recount his experiences in the Far North.

This meal lasted a full two hours. Finally, Zhao Shengming called to inform Lu Fan that he had inquired all departments of the University and had not found a single Pet Slot Expansion Scroll.

With no other choice, Lu Fan decided to try his luck at the Prosperous Heaven Auction House. However, before that, Lu Fan was still thinking about the gift he had promised to give to Senior Sister.

So, after finishing the meal, Lu Fan left Villa No. 2 again, and after some thought, went to the Arena. Just like about a month ago, he opened up a VIP Arena, waiting for her to appear.

In the past, if she came here, she would usually enter within half an hour after he had opened a room. But this time, Lu Fan waited for more than an hour and did not see her.

Lu Fan concluded that she would not be coming today.

Thinking about it, he had become quite familiar with her, but had never gotten her contact information. He was only able to contact her by waiting at the Arena, which was really quite stupid.

Lu Fan suddenly remembered that he had Du Yaqiu’s contact information.

Du Yaqiu and Senior Sister were close so perhaps he could contact Senior Sister through Du Yaqiu and have her come to get the necklace made of Never-Melting Ice.

[This is convenient. Since I can’t get a Pet Slot Expansion Scroll in Dragon Capital University, I would need to head to Prosperous Heaven Auction House to get it if they have one. I can meet Du Yaqiu there and talk to her about Senior Sister.]

So, Lu Fan made a phone call to Du Yaqiu, and after just two rings, she answered.

“Hehe, Little Brother, I heard from Xian’er that you went to the Far North to see my Uncle. Now, it seems like you’ve returned from that place.” Du Yaqiu had a tone as though they were extremely close. Her voice was also extremely charming.

Lu Fan did not stand on ceremony either, replying as if chatting with an old friend. “Yeah, I just got back today. Sister Du, do you have Senior Sister’s contact information? I need to look for her.”

When Du Yaqiu heard that Lu Fan wanted to find her, she immediately laughed. After a while, she said, “What’s this? Missing her after not seeing her for a month?”

“No.” Lu Fan was greatly embarrassed and hurriedly explained. “I had agreed with her beforehand that when I returned from the Far North, I would give her something. I have it with me, but I don’t know how to get in contact with her…”

“I see.” Du Yaqiu said, “It’s not really possible to look for her right now.”

“Why?” Lu Fan asked, puzzled.

Du Yaqiu said, “Xian’er has some Family matters she needs to go back and handle. It’s not clear when she’ll be able to return to Dragon Capital. But, before she left, she left something for you at my place. She said that when you contacted me, I’ll need to have you come over and pick it up. Since you’ve already returned to Dragon Capital, why don’t you come over to my Prosperous Heaven Auction House? I’ll give you what she has left for you.”
