Worthless Profession: Dragon Tamer

Chapter 225, First in Points!

Translator: Silavin

As Lu Fan had anticipated, the Dark Castles were indeed amazing places. With just two or three waves of Monsters, Xing Chen had Levelled up twice, reaching Level 13.

[Seems like after clearing this Dark Castle, Xing Chen might reach Level 15. She might even enter her Growth Period!]

At the same time, Lu Fan’s points had also seen a sharp increase, now reaching as high as 50K points, directly surpassing Jin Chenghan in second place by 20K points!

There was no help for it. Even if Jin Chenghan could accept Missions while hunting Monsters, he could not possibly match Lu Fan’s speed of gaining points by camping at the door of the Dark Castle to farm Monsters.

Whether hunting Monsters or completing Missions, just travelling alone would take a considerable amount of time. Lu Fan, on the other hand, was blocking the entrance of the Dark Castle, waiting for Experience Points and points to come to him. How could Jin Chenghan possibly compare?

…

At this moment, in the observation room, Zhao Shengming’s forehead was already twitching.

Not just him, even the widely experienced Elder Han was slightly flustered, holding his teacup for a long time, forgetting to drink. It was to the point where the tea in his cup had long since gone cold.

Although they knew Lu Fan was strong, neither of them had imagined that Lu Fan would be this strong!

When the second wave of Monsters appeared, Lu Fan’s Baby Dragon, which had just reached Level 12, made one move. With just one Skill, it had directly wiped out the Boss along with the Boss’s guards, which should have been enough to shock them.

As a result, when the third wave’s Boss appeared, before Elder Han could even see clearly what the Boss’s Attributes and Skills were, Lu Fan’s and Xiao Ye’s simultaneous use of Magma Burst directly blasted it to ashes.

It was at least a Level 80 Platinum Grade Boss! Did such a Boss not need some face? At least give it some face.

If other representatives saw a Boss of this Level, they would definitely turn tail and run, right?

But Lu Fan simply killed it with one Skill! Moreover, what was more important was that Elder Han and Zhao Shengming both knew that Lu Fan had only summoned two Dragons so far. His three other Dragons had not yet been summoned.

Among them was a Support Specialised Dragon, which was even a Pure Blood Giant Dragon. Its Support Skills could even multiply Lu Fan and his Pet Dragons’ strength several times over.

Without even summoning such powerful Pet Dragons, he had already swiftly killed three waves of Monsters in succession. Lu Fan’s strength was simply Heaven defying!

After a long while, Elder Han finally recovered from his shock.

He looked at the long-cold tea in his hand and shook his head with a smile, [Seemed like I had lost my composure. I haven’t lost my composure like this in a long time…]

But there was no helping it. This Dragon Country representative called Lu Fan was truly eye-opening.

Zhao Shengming had also come to his senses by now. Seeing Elder Han put down his teacup on the table, he immediately stood up and said, “Elder Han, please wait a moment. I’ll go out right away and have someone bring in a pot of hot tea.”

Elder Han waved his hand, stopping him, and said, “No need. Tea can be drunk anytime. Just stay here and watch this kid’s brilliant performance with me. That is something we cannot miss.”

As he spoke, Elder Han continued to stare intently at the screen, sighing, “I had previously assessed his strength, but now, it seems like my assessment was not accurate enough. He is far more outrageous than I had imagined.”

“I looked up information on the Nine Hell Demons last night and have some understanding of the composition of their Demon Army. The Monsters that will appear next are quite interesting. If you go out now, you might miss the show. So, let’s wait until Lu Fan kills the Hell Demons before we go out to have someone bring in tea. We can also stretch our legs a bit then.”

“But if you’re thirsty…” Zhao Shengming hesitated, afraid of neglecting Elder Han.

Elder Han smiled and said, “Although I’m old, I’ve drunk plenty of Attribute Enhancement Potions over the years. Now, I’m already over Level 40. My Endurance Attribute might even be higher than some Second Profession Combat Specialised Players. I’m not that fragile. So, just stay with me and watch Lu Fan’s brilliant performance. The live broadcast of the National Trial cannot be recorded in any observation room. If you miss it, you’ll never see it again in your lifetime. Don’t you think that would be a shame?”

Zhao Shengming thought about it and agreed. As the Vice Principal of Dragon Capital University, even he was not clear about Lu Fan’s true strength.

To know exactly how strong Lu Fan was, the only opportunity for him might be to watch Lu Fan  Mission the Dark Castle. If he missed any exciting moments, it would indeed be regrettable.

Hearing Elder Han say this, Zhao Shengming sat back down.

Elder Han looked at Lu Fan, then at the real-time points ranking, and suddenly smiled: “I guess by now, the people from Extremistis Country must be quite anxious, right? They probably never imagined that when they added in the Nine Hell Demons, thinking it would slow down the other countries’ representatives, it would come back to bite them. They ended up lifting a rock only to drop it on their own feet. Allowing Lu Fan to use the Dark Castle had made it possible for him to easily overtake Extremistis Country’s representative on the points leaderboard, haha!”

The last cold laugh contained a pent-up frustration in Elder Han’s chest.

Extremistis Country had been constantly making such small deceitful moves. Elder Han was no fool. He naturally knew about them but could realistically do nothing about it. Thus, in his heart, there was naturally a hint of resentment.

Now that Lu Fan was using Extremistis Country’s own methods to counter them, the frustration in Elder Han’s heart was thoroughly released. Lu Fan was directly telling Extremistis Country that in the face of absolute strength, no amount of small tricks would be of any use!

[Ah! How refreshing!]

…

Just as Elder Han had anticipated…

At this moment, in the observation room of Extremistis Country…

“What the hell is going on!? How can the Dragon Country’ representative’s points suddenly surge by so much and even surpass my Nephew!?” Jin Zaian violently flipped the table, his face ashen.

Originally, everything had gone according to Jin Zaian’s plan.

Extremistis Country had first secretly allied with Cherry Blossom Country, then manipulated things to quietly teleport Jin Chenghan and Musashi Ten to the same location.

Then, they used a large number of Mission Scrolls targeting the Nine Hell Demons, intending to restrict the ways other countries’ representatives could gain points through Mission Scrolls.

Only Jin Chenghan would not be affected, because in the desert area, Jin Chenghan had already memorised the locations of all the Mission Scrolls that could not be accepted.

After completing all the Missions on the desert map, Jin Chenghan could casually farm Monsters, and it would not be difficult for him to take first place.

Now, half a day into the National Trial, Jin Chenghan’s points had indeed topped the leaderboard, even surpassing Charles and Andrei.

Jin Zaian had been smugly thinking that this advantage would continue until the end of the National Trial.

But suddenly, in less than half an hour, the Dragon Country representative Lu Fan’s points began to surge, going from last place directly to first place, even surpassing Jin Chenghan’s lead!

This was too abnormal!

Even if he had accepted Missions, this rate of raking in points should not be possible. It was just too fast.

That was, unless a group of High Level Monsters were lining up to be killed by Lu Fan.

But the key was, even if High Level Monsters were lining up to be killed, it would still take time to kill them, right?

Little did Jin Zaian know that it was precisely the Dark Castle mechanism that Extremistis Country added that had truly provided Lu Fan with an opportunity for Monsters to line up for him to kill and gain Experience Points and points.

“Quickly go investigate! This representative from Dragon Country must be making use of an exploit in the Secret Realm’s design!” Jin Zaian’s expression twisted. “Once any abnormality in the Secret Realm has been discovered, immediately force the representative to be teleported out and disqualify him from the competition!”
