Worthless Profession: Dragon Tamer

Chapter 242, What Does 100% Debuff Immunity Mean?

Translator: Silavin

Creating the Ten Thousand Serpent Poison Array requires many materials and time. But once created and activated, the Poison Debuff within the Array would be deadly.

Previously, Kiran would only use it when dealing with a Boss. Otherwise, the massive material consumption for this Poison Array would be too costly, even for him.

This time, entering the National Trial, Kiran’s Inventory was full of materials. Yet, he could only create two Ten Thousand Serpent Poison Arrays.

Originally, he wanted to save these materials, but Wei Ji’s failed ambush made Kiran realise Lu Fan’s true strength.

Additionally, with the considerable points Lu Fan was carrying, he felt that using the Ten Thousand Serpent Poison Array to surround and kill him would be worthwhile.

Now that the Ten Thousand Serpent Poison Array had been activated, Kiran was certain of victory.

Seeing Wei Ji being corroded by poison gas first due to her lack of flight ability, Kiran naturally could not leave her to die. He waved his staff, releasing several dark green gases that flew onto Wei Ji and the others.

Instantly, the Debuff Effect on Wei Ji was removed, and everyone received a defensive Skill that protected them from the Effects of the poison gas.

After receiving this Buff, everyone breathed a sigh of relief, especially Wei Ji who could now breathe normally.

However, she was still displeased. Looking at the decay on her body, she glared at Kiran and chided, “You should have cast this Skill on us from the very start!”

Kiran smiled and said, “If you want to blame someone, blame your lack of ability. I didn’t have time to cast this Skill on you before you were engulfed by the snake poison. Fine, after we kill this guy, I’ll give you an extra thousand points, how’s that?”

Hearing she could get an extra thousand points, Wei Ji had no more complaints.

“Next…” Kiran looked at Lu Fan, his smile turning sinister, “It’s your turn. Once infected by my poison, not only will your Attributes drop significantly, but your flesh will also start to decay.”

“You’re indeed strong, but do you think you can break through our four men encirclement while in this poison mist? We don’t even need to kill you ourselves. We just need to keep you in the Array for thirty minutes, and you’ll become nothing but bones, hehe!”

“Now, do you still think we can’t get the points you’re carrying?”

After speaking, Kiran began channelling his Skill, guarding against Lu Fan attempting to escape the Array.

Gu Lang and Badan did the same. Gu Lang even shot an arrow into the sky. The arrow condensed with heavy green light, forming a large net made of vines that covered the sky after flying up.

This Skill appeared to only restrict flying units’ height, with no other purpose.

However, with this Skill, they could prevent Lu Fan from using his Pet Dragon to fly up and avoid the Poison Effects of the Ten Thousand Serpent Poison Array.

Soon, the poison gas from below rose up, engulfing both Lu Fan and Xiao Ye.

The smiles on the faces of Kiran’s group grew increasingly smug as they prepared to watch Lu Fan and his Black Dragon writhing in pain within the poison mist.

However, when the poison mist truly engulfed Lu Fan, the four were shocked to discover that Lu Fan showed no adverse reactions whatsoever.

It was only Xiao Ye that had a reaction. She had flames shooting from her nose and mouth, seemingly angered.

[What was going on? How could the powerful Poison Debuff from the Ten Thousand Serpent Poison Array have absolutely no effect on him!?]

Kiran was the most shocked of all. Previously, using the Ten Thousand Serpent Poison Array, he had managed to trap and kill a Fourth Profession Player.

It was precisely because of this brilliant achievement that he was chosen as Eternal Country’s representative.

Yet now, a Skill that even a Fourth Profession Player could not withstand had absolutely no effect on Lu Fan!

This was too strange!

Kiran’s eyes were wide with disbelief, completely unable to understand what was happening.

If Lu Fan had used some kind of Debuff Cleanser Skill, that would be understandable, but he had not done anything!

He just stood there in the poison gas, seemingly relying purely on his own Resistance to withstand the Poison Debuff from the Ten Thousand Serpent Poison Array!

Speaking of resistance, Wei Ji, as a Bear God Inheritor, had much Higher Resistance than other Players of the same level.

Even so, she had such a severe reaction upon touching the poison. So, how could Lu Fan, who was only in his Level 30s, remain completely unaffected in this deadly poison?

Seeing the expressions of Kiran’s group change from triumphant smiles to shock and disbelief as the poison mist rose, Lu Fan could not help but laugh.

He waved his hand to disperse the poison mist in front of him and spoke with utter disappointment. “This is your trump card? This is how you plan on killing me? I thought it would be some powerful deadly Array, but it’s just a Poison Type Array. If I had known you only had this level of ability, I would have killed you all directly when I arrived. What a waste of my time!”

After Lu Fan finished speaking, Dragon Qi began swirling around his blade.

This Dragon Qi gave off an even more terrifying pressure than when he had first struck and wounded the seven-coloured python.

Clearly, Lu Fan had held back in that previous strike, but this time, he was going for their lives.

Xiao Ye had also already grown tired of staying in this filthy snake poison mist.

Flames poured from her mouth and nose as she gathered power, waiting for Lu Fan’s command to burn everyone present to ashes.

Seeing that not only was Lu Fan unharmed in the poison mist, but his Attributes had not weakened at all, Kiran felt a chill run from the soles of his feet straight to the top of his head.

Kiran’s lips trembled, but he steeled himself and gritted his teeth, saying to the other three, “I don’t believe my Array has no effect on him. Don’t believe what he says. He must be putting up a front just to scare us away.”

“Anyway, we can’t let him leave the Poison Array today. We must keep him here – the Array’s poison will definitely kill him!”

The others all nodded, strengthening their resolve.

Lu Fan smiled, thinking to himself that since they believed their Poison Type Array was effective, he would show them what 100% Debuff Immunity really meant.

He raised the Flaming Meteor Sword, just about to kill the seven-coloured python with one strike, when suddenly, another disturbance came from afar.

*Rumble…* A huge sound attracted everyone’s attention.

Lu Fan turned to look and saw flames shooting into the sky at the outer edge of the Ten Thousand Serpent Poison Array, forming a massive scorched area.

He thought it might be a fifth Player from Kiran’s alliance, but then he saw Kiran panic and say. “No wonder he was so confident – he had allies!”

“Someone outside has destroyed the Ten Thousand Serpent Poison Array’s Array Core. The Array is about to collapse!”
