Counterfeit Hero

Soft whispers of discussion, even within the disciplined ranks of the Longxing Association, never ceased.

For these soldiers, most of whom were born and raised in the Free World, each of these names represented a legend.

Cheng Zhixuan, who arrived with the third shuttle, remained silent for a long time after seeing the forty Bandit Army Mecha standing quietly in the night. No one noticed the complex emotion in the eyes of the Chief of Staff of all armed forces of the Longxing Association as he gazed at the bandit soldiers.

The combat power of this force brought not only shock to Cheng Zhixuan but more so a sense of loss. What a formidable force this is! Why couldn’t this power belong to the Longxing Association?!

Long ago, the Longxing Association had been trying to control one or two sects, aiming for the Mech Knights trained by these sects and their mecha techniques. In today’s deeply transformed mecha combat modes, this would be an invaluable asset to Chuckna.

But the efforts of the Longxing Association only yielded sending their own people to become Outer Disciples of the sects, learning just a smattering. Very few could become Core Disciples, not to mention recruiting these renowned fighters and War Gods. The tradition of the Free World had each sect wary of other forces.

But who knew that what the Longxing Association couldn’t achieve, a Leray fatty managed to accomplish!

In Cheng Zhixuan’s view, Fatty’s maneuver was truly skillful.

With the flip of a hand, he could stir up sect conflicts, break the Sect Federation, completely overturn the Free World’s order system, and then, within days, establish the Sect Mutual Aid Alliance with a reverse move.

At first, Cheng Zhixuan thought that this so-called Mutual Aid Alliance concocted by the fatty and the Phantom Stream was a complete joke. But to his surprise, these always arrogant civilian mecha sects willingly brought their Mech Knights into Fatty’s pocket, one after another.

Even now, Cheng Zhixuan couldn’t figure out how this fatty did it! Nor could he understand what was attracting these civilian Mech Knights.

He had already relayed the related reports home and believed instructions would return soon.

The Fei Alliance Command Center had long issued guidance on controlling the Free World. Domestically, the thoughts were likely the same. Since Leray was still a member of the Fei Alliance, some matters could not be left to that fatty. This power must be controlled by the Fei Alliance.

Fifty minutes later, when the entirety of the Longxing Association’s Iron Armor Division’s First and Second Armored Group arrived at the First Airport and handed over the defense to the subsequent troops, Cheng Zhixuan, who had been smoking and chatting with the two regiment leaders and Iron Armor Division Commander Utherred Cage on the side of the tarmac, woke Weii Jianshan up.

”We’ll take over the subsequent offensive tasks!” Cheng Zhixuan handed the electronic folder with the battle plan to Weii Jianshan and straightforwardly said, ”You just follow behind. This battle is already without suspense.”

”By the way...” Seeing Weii Jianshan expressionlessly inserting the folder into the Mechanical Computer’s reading slot, Cheng Zhixuan couldn’t help but curiously ask, ”Where is Colonel Tian of yours?”

”He left earlier and should now be at the Northern Alliance Base.” Under the tarmac’s lights, Weii Jianshan looked at the eyes filled with confusion in front of him and coldly laughed, ”Letting the Northern Alliance go like this is too much of a pity. Our colonel said, persistent pestering is his specialty. As long as your actions are quick enough, the Northern Alliance’s command organ can’t go anywhere!”

Everyone was dumbstruck. Cheng Zhixuan turned to look around, confirming again the number of Bandit Army Mecha around him, aghast, ”How many people did he take?”

”Including himself, ten.” Weii Jianshan uttered the answer everyone had already figured out.

Just ten people to raid someone else’s base?

The officers of Longxing Association were about to go mad. What was that fatty thinking? Even if the Northern Alliance Base’s armored forces had been moved to the First Aviation Port, it was still their base. One spit from each person could corrode those ten Mechas to scrap metal!

The fully assembled Longxing Association Mechanical Warriors marched past the officers one row after another. The front team had already gone a block, while the rear was still neatly arranged on the airport’s vast open space.

The Mecha’s heavy footsteps caused the ground to tremble; the dim streetlights cast the marching Mechas’ shadows long and short. Leaving the base, the Mechas turned on their spotlights. The white beams shook and fluctuated with the Mechas’ movements. At a glance, it looked like a flowing galaxy, extraordinarily magnificent.

As they passed the officers, seeing their senior officers in such a daze, the warriors couldn’t help but gossip. They couldn’t guess what had happened to make these usually stern-faced, severe officers now appear so stunned, as if they’d seen a ghost, comically.

”The time is almost here.....” With a press of the data transmission button on the computer, Weii Jianshan watched the Longxing Association armored units move out of the base like an unending dragon and then turned to jump on his Mecha. He said to the somewhat distracted Cheng Zhixuan, ”We will follow on your main force’s left wing. Within three hours, we have to reach the Northern Alliance Base.”
