Counterfeit Hero

The Northern Alliance soldiers don’t want to believe Satan, but the facts in front of them leave no choice.

This battle is impossible to fight!

When two waves of Green Mecha struck bloodily into the formation of the Blood Shadow Fourth Armored Battalion from both wings, the 4th Camp was already doomed.

Commander Walker was torn to pieces by the assaulting Green Mecha at the first moment. The entire battalion was surrounded by dozens of Green Mecha, cut, annihilated... Those crisscrossing bloody cutting routes still leave the captives shivering. Against such terrorizing opponents, they were nothing more than cheese under the blade!

And now, they have become prisoners of this group of Satan’s apostles. The leading Devil is maliciously staring at them, pondering how to deal with them.

”We can’t leave prisoners...” Fatty looked at the captives whose spirit had completely collapsed, and said indifferently: ”The refugee gathering points along the No. 7 Resource Highway, Calif River agricultural area gathering point, Windmill Plain gathering point... You know very well what your people have done. Now is the time for you to pay back!”

The captives’ faces turned deathly pale, as they certainly knew what the Northern Alliance Army had done in those places. Despair immediately enveloped everyone’s face, eyes revealing a kind of ashen lifelessness.

”It wasn’t us who killed them!” Under the shadow of death, a Northern Alliance Mecha Soldier first couldn’t withstand it. He looked at the barrel of the energy machine gun aimed at him, and screamed wildly, shaking his head frantically as his eyes aimlessly cast innocence and pity at every Green Mecha, completely forgetting his previous brutality when he attacked.

”Aren’t they just lowly civilians? What does it matter if they’re killed! If you dare, kill us all!” A death-defying officer roared, descendant of the Nademick Dynasty, fanatically believing in aristocratic supremacy, and feeling ashamed of the same fear shown by the pleading Mecha soldier.

”We didn’t participate in the massacre.” Another officer, in fear, tried to present himself with righteous language: ”As prisoners of war, we should receive the appropriate treatment according to the prisoner treaty. If you kill us, what’s the difference between you and those scum who slaughter civilians?”

The warriors of the Super Spearhead Battalion turned their heads in disgust; they hadn’t imagined there could be so many expressions of shamelessness. Looking at the state of the Central City North Alliance occupation zone, recalling the invasion of Puluo Town by the Northern Alliance Mecha Group, they know how much innocent blood is on these people’s hands.

War doesn’t need mercy. Any kindness is foolish. The warriors know that once these people are spared, unknown numbers might die at their hands again. The best way to deal with these people is to completely erase them from this world.

But they are warriors, not butchers. They may take pride in killing ten thousand enemies but cannot harm an already surrendered enemy. That blatant deprivation of life makes them feel nauseated.

Bringing these people along is unrealistic, too. All the warriors turn their gaze to Fatty. This Leray soldier, who had personally instilled the Leray soldiers’ code in them, they wanted to know how Fatty would handle these damned prisoners. It was their first lesson in becoming soldiers.

”I won’t kill prisoners!” Fatty’s words made the captives simultaneously breathe a sigh of relief. Their scattered, vacant gaze regained focus, and some even showed a hint of secret joy and satisfaction.

These Green Mecha may be formidable, but they don’t yet understand the cruelty of war. That Leray Fatty is too pedantic. For their so-called honor, they’re pushed to a corner with just a few words. If they can’t kill us, can they take us with them? Once back at the base, it’ll be business as usual. After all, this is war!

”However, wanting us to release you is too naive.” Fatty’s face displayed a mocking expression, and his cold tone froze all their secret joy in place: ”I will cripple your hands! Without hands, naturally, someone will seek revenge on you.”

”I’m not a good person. Not killing prisoners doesn’t mean I won’t abuse them!” Fatty’s eyes wandered over the captives’ faces, pointing at the bandit army emblem with the initials SM: ”Do you understand what this means? Playing SM is our favorite. You’re lucky we don’t have time today.”

In the captives’ shocked eyes, the bandit soldiers licked their lips and rushed in, eagerly executing Fatty’s orders. Crippling their hands means they can’t hold guns or pilot Mecha anymore. In the hands of angry civilians, they will pay the price equal to their atrocities.

As the prisoners screamed, Weii Jianshan walked up to Fatty and asked, ”Colonel, enemy’s reinforcements, an armored camp, have stopped ten kilometers from us. What’s our next move?”

”The Northern Alliance Commander is cautious.” Fatty’s lips curled into a sinister smile: ”Without understanding our strengths, having lost a camp, he won’t send a second one up. To avoid the same losses, he’ll have to bundle the remaining two camps together... then he’ll discover that the chips he has for calculation are dwindling.”
