Counterfeit Hero

The fleet communication that Selwal requested was finally connected.

However, appearing on the screen was not the commander of the Blood Wing Fleet but a major ship captain. He and his armed merchant ship were fleeing from the pursuit of the Longxing Association Fleet. The Blood Wing First Fleet, Second Fleet, and the mixed fleet of the Rejuvenation Army, stationed at Space Ports No.13 and No.15, suffered devastating blows.

”Their ambush was too sudden!”

The disheveled major’s face was ashen: ”Their Black Flag and Yellow Flag Fleet made a feint threat towards our Space Port No.19, and all our attention was diverted. Just as our fleet’s main force had left the port, the surprise attack by the Green Flag Fleet began......”

”It was a disaster...” Terror from the memory was etched on the major’s face.

”They actually have ten destroyer-level armed merchant ships equipped with military weapon systems, along with two cruisers. As soon as we left the port, they jumped right in front of us. The warships at the front blocked the exit, and we didn’t even have a chance to fight back. The warships patrolling the perimeter desperately tried to disperse them, but there were just too many of their ships....”

On the screen, the major was choking up. The painful memories brought tears streaming down his face.

Behind him, crew members were frantically running back and forth, shouts never ceasing. Occasionally, the ship would shake violently, and the communication screen would incessantly flicker and distort, seeming like it could break off at any moment.

Everyone’s hearts sank into an icy abyss.

The Longxing Association, this long-coiled venomous snake, finally bared its fangs. With a Pearl Harbor-style sneak attack, it dealt the Northern Alliance a fatal blow!

In fact, the Northern Alliance had always maintained vigilance against the Longxing Association.

But now, the advisors admitted that when this vigilance extended beyond the expected time, it turned into complacency.

These Chuckna people were simply too enduring. Their defensive posture had been maintained since the Sect War and continued to this day. Whether it was the Northern Alliance’s battles with the Three Major Schools or this campaign against the bandit army, the Longxing Association seemed to ignore the Northern Alliance’s exposed flaws and temptations. They were repeatedly judged to make a move, yet time after time, nothing happened.

As a result, the Northern Alliance had developed a habitual thought process towards the Longxing Association, where everyone subconsciously felt that these fellows would always maintain this stance until the Northern Alliance launched an attack.

This illusion is what led the Northern Alliance to pay a heavy price!

The Mars Free Port has a total of one hundred space ports. The top twenty ports separately occupy twenty airspaces covering the entire planet. The other ports were built around them thereafter. Space Port No.13, Space Port No.15, and the other ports within the control range of these two ports are precisely the docking ports of the Central City’s First Aviation Port.

Selwal turned to Feiler in a daze: ”If the Longxing Association transports the army through Space Port No.13, how long will it take them?”

”One hour.” Feiler’s voice became somewhat hoarse: ”If they had premeditated, it would only take them one hour to assemble two armored groups through the First Aviation Port. Within five hours, they could transport five armored groups and ten infantry regiments through Air Port No.1!”

”What about us?” Selwal asked: ”Central City does not just have one ground aviation port, if we now gather troops from all ports, how long will it take to redeploy them back?”

Feiler did not speak.

This question did not need an answer. Not to mention those smaller ports have only one-thirtieth the transport capacity of the First Aviation Port, just the time needed for the troops to assemble and resupply would take at least two hours! More importantly, all these ports are within the strike range of the Longxing Association Fleet!

Now the main force of the Blood Wing Fleet has already suffered fatal blows, and the fleet currently stationed at Mars Airport is pitifully scarce. They are still waiting for rescue from fleets returning from other routes, how could they possibly support such a large-scale airdrop?

The old Chinese idiom ”a cup of water on a burning cart of firewood” left a bitter taste in Feiler’s mouth. The electronic map in front of him was like a trapped dragon in a game of chess surrounded by the opponent.

”You think you can compete with me in calculations....”

Fatty’s voice kept echoing in Feiler’s mind. The frustration of failure left him breathless.

Recalling everything that happened that day, Feiler had to admit that in his most adept field, he had already lost disastrously! That Fatty was a real calculation expert. From Perfume Street, he had been leading Feiler by the nose. Feiler had long entered his command rhythm and was induced into his line of thinking. Until he pounced on the First Aviation Port, Feiler still thought that under his massive military pressure, Fatty would, like the bases he attacked along the way, hit and run.

”What should we do now?” Seeing Feiler staring at the electronic map without speaking, Selwal turned to the adjutant beside him and asked: ”How long before the reinforcements for the First Aviation Port arrive?”

”Fifty minutes.” The adjutant checked the time and then looked at the electronic map and said: ”The Blood Shadow First Armored Battalion and an armored battalion from the Southern District ordered to return are the closest to the First Aviation Port. They are rushing over at full speed.”

”Contact the stationed Mechanical Infantry Group at the First Airport and tell their regiment commander that if he holds out for fifty minutes, he will be a hero of the Northern Alliance, and they can have whatever they want!” Selwal closed his eyes, his voice squeezing out as if through clenched teeth: ”Tell him, even if it means death, he must die on the position. Any act of retreat will be severely punished! Holding out means paradise, not holding out means hell!”
