Counterfeit Hero

Weii Jianshan didn’t speak. From the moment he met Fatty until now, at the age of forty-five, Weii Jianshan felt like he had become a different person. Whether it was the pursuit of Mecha Martial Arts or the grand blueprint of Mars becoming a genuine ”Free World,” these were all things Weii Jianshan desired. He had witnessed too many miracles, so he had no doubt that Fatty was capable of carrying out his battle plan.

Excruciating Torment! The meaning of this operation’s codename was not to capture the Northern Alliance leaders and subject them to torture, but to dismember the entire Northern Alliance!

Fatty was calculating against the enemy’s Commander. Troop deployments, timing, combat power, and everything else. Both sides stood at a bird’s eye view of the entire Mars conflict. The Northern Alliance wanted to annihilate the bandit army and capture Puluo Town. Meanwhile, Fatty, in direct opposition, aimed to exploit the weakness of the enemy’s inadequate forces in Central City to place the entire Northern Alliance in a deadly trap!

With fifty Mechas, devising such a plan seemed like a wildly unrealistic idea to anyone. But after this battle, Weii Jianshan and all the bandit soldiers of the Sharp Blade Company understood this wasn’t a delusion. Fatty was turning it into reality. At least as it looked now, in Central City, the enemy had unconsciously aligned their pace with Fatty’s baton.

Another one of their Armored Camps had paused ten kilometers from here. It’s imaginable how shocked and confused their Commander must be at this moment. The Northern Alliance’s defenses were in chaos. Of the three Armored Camps they relied on, one had already been annihilated. And now, they haven’t even glimpsed the shadow of the Sharp Blade Company.

While Fatty was figuring out how to disintegrate the enemy’s defensive forces, he did another thing: he disseminated the real-time situation maps of Central City photographed along the way through civilian networks.

Even if the Longxing Association to the north and the Three Major Schools sneaking on the east don’t take advantage of the situation, the Northern Alliance can only stay on tenterhooks and cautiously defend! And as the Sharp Blade Company continues its assault in the Northern Alliance’s core regions, the hesitant Northern Alliance will gradually lose its forces. In a matter of time, this temptation will become unbearable for any entity eyeing the Northern Alliance!

”It’s time for the next target.” Fatty sneered, ignoring the Northern Alliance Armored Camp ten kilometers away. He set his sights on the First Aviation Port south of the Northern Alliance’s main base in Central City. There, it was not only a critical material transit center of the Northern Alliance, but also a channel for their troop transports!

”It seems we need to reevaluate the bandit army. Such a Mixed Army, being able to consecutively annihilate a Suss Armored Group and two Blood Shadow Armored Battalions in one night, far exceeded our previous estimates in combat power.”

After a silence in Su Kezhou’s study, the quiet was broken by the Combat Department’s Chief of Staff, Cheng Zhixuan, a Colonel directly dispatched by the Chuckna Military Department, who sighed and continued: ”However, I do not believe the bandit army has the possibility of victory.”

Cheng Zhixuan walked to the map, pointing at several arrows around Puluo Town, and said to everyone: ”You can all see, the intensity of the Northern Alliance’s attack on Puluo Town can only be described as excessive. It’s very apparent that the Northern Alliance’s Combat Department has thoroughly considered the bandit army’s combat capabilities and contingency factors. Their tactic is Mount Tai’s overwhelming strength to break cleverness. And the current bandit army only has this one stronghold in Puluo Town, lacking enough strategic depth. So, the strategy of trading space for time to eliminate the enemy’s active forces in battle and eventually launch a counterattack, they do not have.”

Cheng Zhixuan’s hand covered Puluo Town: ”Their roots are here, losing Puluo Town, the Sect Mutual Aid Alliance will fall apart. Weapons and troops will only dwindle, and this newly formed alliance will only fracture further. The Northern Alliance has pinpointed this fact, which is why they are forcibly attacking Puluo Town.”

”The Combat Department has already detailed the deductions.” Cheng Zhixuan looked at Su Kezhou and said: ”The armored units of the bandit army are too few, entirely insufficient to resist the Northern Alliance’s multiple offensives simultaneously. Relying on their infantry, they absolutely cannot hold out for twenty-four hours! Puluo Town’s long defensive line has too many places that could be breached by the Northern Alliance. Besides, their armored units cannot complete the task of annihilating all the enemy forces, at best they can achieve mutual destruction. And the Northern Alliance likely has enough subsequent forces for the attack. Even if the bandit army wiped out all the assaulting forces, in the end, they would still be overwhelmed by the Northern Alliance.”

Cheng Zhixuan’s words evoked a unanimous resonance among the officers. They had all simulated such scenarios before. Given the current situation of the bandit army in Puluo Town, except for leading the armored units out of Puluo Town and abandoning their previously accumulated positions for guerrilla warfare, there truly was no other way out. But if they did so, the bandit army might as well declare their withdrawal from the Mars competition.

”This also serves as a reminder for us!” Cheng Zhixuan said: ”The enemy we are about to face is not some civil organization like the Three Major Schools. Based on the information from the domestic intelligence department, Army Major General Feiler, who defected from the Silliac Federation, is now within the Northern Commerce Alliance. This assault plan on Puluo Town has his shadow.”

Cheng Zhixuan frowned, lit a cigarette, and continued: ”I have some understanding of this person. He is extremely adept in troop deployment and calculations; every detail in a battle will be calculated and utilized to the very smallest degree. In terms of strategy, he is meticulous and comprehensive, with the overall picture and local moves being interlinked and detailed, making him particularly troublesome. Judging by his six-pronged attack setup, he has left considerable leeway, and if there are still hidden moves, the bandit army will find it hard to escape disaster.”
