Counterfeit Hero

This point has been repeatedly confirmed. Whether it’s the defense deployment of the bandit army or the influx and outflow of materials at the base, production capacity, all support this intelligence. In the Longxing Association’s intelligence agency’s evaluation report on the bandit army’s combat capabilities, it was once pointed out that even if relying entirely on self-production of armed forces, the bandit army, even if working around the clock, would not be able to produce more than one additional battalion of military mechas before the Northern Alliance launches their attack.

The numbers are certain, but what cannot be determined is the performance of these new types of mechas and the combat capability of the units composed of former civilian mech knights. In the eyes of the commanders, it’s not just that they don’t understand it, but perhaps even that so-called Leray Hero himself doesn’t understand it well!

Training is one thing, combat is another.

These mech knights, originally immersed in civilian martial techniques, still have a huge gap compared to real warriors, from any perspective.

They might be good at close combat, but fighting isn’t a deadly move! Those habitual flashy techniques might look good in duels or deceive opponents, but on the battlefield, they are a great waste of speed against opponents. Besides, bloody group combat and non-lethal duels in arenas are completely different. The techniques of individual duels and personal heroism will only make you die faster on the battlefield!

The military is a highly specialized profession. If a group of people could be easily trained into professional soldiers, then why would there be a need for the military and military academies? If one could casually train some people to perform a few tactical moves and shoot, and they could defeat a regular military unit, then how could there be a difference between specialized and ordinary troops, and how could there be a gap between elite armies and regular units?

The army capable of defeating the enemy on the battlefield must possess strict discipline, excellent traditions, indomitable will, flexible and professional command, reliable logistics support, must have undergone years of professional military training, familiar with every type of weapon and attack-defense tactics, intelligence systems, command systems, and combat units must be integrated. The military quality of the officers, the combat skills of the soldiers, and the mutual trust and cooperation must also be developed over a long period.

Those civilian mech knights who had never been exposed to military training and had never used energy weapons, often scheming against each other, could they complete all this in just one or two months?! It’s important to know that, even in armies of various countries, this amount of time is only enough for new recruits to perfect their alignment and posture! Even their physical training hasn’t been fully expanded, let alone the specialized training courses needed by Mechanical Warriors!

Yet the battle report has overturned all this. That entirely amateur bandit army actually defeated the Suss Empire’s regular armored units! Moreover, they have now presented an even more shocking battle diagram—a 350-kilometer arrow drawn on the map from Pingqi Ridge south of Puluo Town to Breslau Farm, 125 kilometers from the Lorenzo River, traversing mountain ranges, plains, and hilly terrain, where they defeated their second opponent!

After enduring a tough battle, a long-distance raid of 350 kilometers overnight, and quickly engaging in another battle to annihilate the enemy, what does this mean?

This not only means that the previous victory of this army was not mere luck, it means they have strict discipline, traditions that are being nurtured, an indomitable will, ample stamina, and powerful combat strength. More importantly, this means that this army has acquired the most fundamental element of becoming an elite force—belief!

Without the belief in certain victory and the will to fight for it, such a hastily assembled army could not possibly complete such an intense battle!

Pairing such a mixed army with the concept of belief sounds ridiculous and incredible, yet the fact is right there.

The commanders of the Longxing Association’s armed forces were silent. They could no longer attribute the bandit army’s combat effectiveness to luck......How could they, in one night, defeat equally strong enemies in two locations over 300 kilometers apart? What kind of belief supports their long-distance raids, supports them in the deadly combat, makes them so eager, willing to pay the price of their lives.... Everything is a mystery!

”Didn’t the other two battalions of the Blood Shadow Mecha Group come over to support them?” Cage pointed at the map and asked the question everyone wanted to ask. The battle situation simulation of Puluo Town had begun the moment intelligence arrived. They had repeatedly simulated the positions and relationships between these four armored camps of the Northern Alliance many times.

”They did come.” Su Kezhou stared at the map, slowly stretched out his hand, and drew a line on it. With a sneer, he said, ”However, from beginning to end, they were blocked by a single armored battalion of the bandit army north of this section of the highway! Until the battle was over, the bandit army disengaged, and they couldn’t cross the ground at all! Now, the only thing they can do is to collect the corpses of their companions!”

This time, even Cage was silent.

The Blood Shadow Mecha Group of the Northern Commerce Alliance had always been a key target of concern for the Longxing Association, even to the point where it could be said that it was their number one adversary! Since the start of the Sect War, they had been collecting all the intelligence on this unit, and they knew this enemy even better than their own forces.
