Counterfeit Hero

This is tantamount to a loud slap on the face of the Northern Alliance! Dozens of Mechas couldn’t hold it back, and once the news gets out, the Northern Alliance’s reputation will truly be in tatters! Moreover, what makes it even more infuriating is that, until now, we haven’t figured out where the holy enemy is coming from.

Could it be the bandit army in Puluo Town, the secret combat unit of the Longxing Association, or the Three Major Schools... The Northern Alliance occupies 70% of the territory on Mars Planet, and is surrounded by enemies! Especially after the Suss Empire got involved in the Free Port battle, this is the most crucial period of the entire war situation; an enemy desperate enough could potentially do anything.

”The 3rd Mechanized Infantry Division has already detoured around the Inner River Shipping Bridge to return for reinforcement, and is currently setting up defenses along the east-west direction of the Seven-star Garden District. Compress the enemy’s operational space. Additionally, the 4th Armored Battalion has pinned the enemy on Champs Elysees Street, and the Second Armored Battalion is on its way there, we should be able to annihilate the invading enemy very soon.......”

”Get them to speed it up!” Selwal exclaimed furiously: ”Dozens of Mechas, starting from Perfume Street, traversing twelve districts, destroying the Inner River Bridge, and only now getting blocked, deploying two Armored Battalions, while also having a Mechanical Infantry Division return for defense, once the word gets out......”

Selwal snorted coldly, his face darkening, and didn’t continue speaking. He gestured for the aide to leave.

In fact, whether it is a loss of face is secondary. What concerns Selwal is the hidden implication behind the appearance of this Mecha Team.

Honestly, compared to before, the defenses of Central City are now much weaker.

Most of the troops are scattered across various port cities and transportation nodes occupied by the Northern Alliance. The remaining mobile forces are mostly committed to the offensive against the bandit army of Puluo Town. Currently, the armored forces garrisoning Central City consist only of five battalions from the Blood Shadow Mecha Group. Among them, only three battalions are defending the Central City base, with the remaining two battalions stationed in the Northern Industrial Zone at three hours’ distance away.

Coordinating with the Northern Alliance’s exterior positions and two Mechanical Infantry Divisions, the armored forces of three battalions should manage against a general offensive without much issue, but when facing a large-scale enemy attack, they may inevitably be stretched thin.

The arrival of this Mecha Team now forces Selwal to be sufficiently alert and contemplative. What is the enemy’s purpose, why are they appearing here at this time......

If they are allowed to wreak havoc in the core defense zone, it can be imagined that regardless of the enemy’s initial intent, they will certainly make further plans! This sort of opportunistic plunder is a tactic the Free World has long mastered; if dozens of Mechas can run rampant, then what about hundreds or thousands? This temptation cannot be allowed under any circumstances! The sudden appearance of this Mecha Team must be swiftly annihilated to deter covetous enemies.

Selwal turned to look at Feiler who was absorbed in the defense map, feeling a bit anxious — Feiler had mobilized the first and second Armored Groups of the Warrior Mercenary Corps, which were originally used to defend Bering Port’s Longxing Association, for the offensive against Puluo Town, leaving only two Armored Groups stationed there, and if.....

”Perfume Street breakthrough, making a large circle to the northeast, destroying Inner River Bridge, then heading south......” Feiler, who was continuously focused on the defense map, was unaware of Selwal’s concerns, muttered with a frown: ”What exactly does this armored team intend to do.....passing through these defense zones, could it be.....”
