Counterfeit Hero

The assault speed of 900 kilometers per hour, nearly twice that of a launched arrow, and barely above the ground.... The relative sensation of speed, formed between the solid earth and these lightning-like Mechas, made Sedep dizzy.

Fifty vehicles weaved in and out of the ruins, with their figures appearing and disappearing. The huge roar generated by displacing air during their sprint was like the horns of ancient times. As they leapt past like meteors, the wild grass on the ruins was tilted rapidly toward the Mecha’s tail, as if someone had yanked it, while the dust on the ruins surged up like a torrent.

Fifty green wolves charging wildly at their prey, fifty trails of rolling dust. Sedep and the other warriors beside him even forgot the warnings they should have issued. They were completely awestruck by this magnificent scene of assault. These were not cold Mechas; they were fierce beasts at the top of the food chain in a primordial jungle, flashing their fangs and claws in the sunlight, recklessly expending their energy to launch a hunt.

Meanwhile, amidst the congestion and chaos in the Evgreen District, two Blood Shadow Mecha Companies completely lost their ferocity and strength at this moment. Even before contact, their disguise had already been stripped away. Now they looked more like a flock of lambs awaiting slaughter!

A sharp alarm sounded.

It was emitted by the outermost alert Mecha. It stood alone, red amid the ruins, emitting an alarm that was extremely piercing.

The leading Green Mecha pounced forward.

The alarm abruptly ended.

Like a lion taking down an antelope, there was no suspense. The poor prey didn’t even have time to react.

The Red Mecha was knocked to the ground. Amidst flying dust, bizarre-looking parts scattered everywhere.

Then, in the wake of a white light sweeping across the ground, it transformed into a fiercely burning fireball. The Green Mecha that destroyed it had already shot away electrically, and beside this ball of fierce fire, dozens of green figures swiftly darted past without a moment’s pause.

Almost in the blink of an eye, the Bandit Army Mecha Team had reached a distance of less than 200 meters from the central square.

Even if the Green Mechas noticeably decelerated, these 200 meters were just over two seconds away. Sedep and his group had never thought about what 200 meters meant. Soon, they received their answer—it was the best distance for a concentrated breach of the opponent’s group with an Energy Cannon during a high-speed assault.

Several red ”Gusts” congested in the district ruins were turning around. A few were struggling to start and switch to combat mode, while more frantically tried to scatter to both sides...... It was a tableau of Mecha emotions, panic, fear, bewilderment, and recklessness....

Quickly, this scene was torn apart by a white light.

It was a raging light composed of fifty 260mm caliber Energy Cannons and one hundred 80mm caliber energy machine guns.

Sedep and the other six Northern Alliance Soldiers could only stare blankly, watching that white light sweep over everything, seeing one red figure after another disintegrate into ashes under its onslaught. Even the several ”Gusts” that had already energized their energy shields couldn’t withstand this wave of attack. Their energy shields, like candles in the wind, quickly collapsed after four consecutive color changes in the violent energy torrent. Immediately, the external armor of the Mechas was melted, torn apart, followed by the shell of the Mechas, then the exposed skeletons and components....

When the white light flashed and disappeared, and the red Mecha group was torn apart by the sudden attack, fifty Green Mechas pierced into the Red Mecha group like heart-piercing arrows, almost simultaneously.

The timing, speed, and angle were mastered with such precision it was chilling!

Within the Red Mecha group, lines of blood rain and storm quickly appeared—a result of the Green Mechas advancing.

Sedep knew that there was no longer anyone who could stop this slaughter.

Almost involuntarily, Sedep suddenly focused his long-range viewer on Monkey Captain, who was located next to the central garden fountain.

The zoomed-in image from the long-range viewer clearly presented the ”Gust” with double gold horizontal lines painted on it to Sedep’s eyes. It was a Mecha in an awkward posture due to panic; its operator was, not long ago, boasting about showing others a lesson.

Unfortunately, now it was others teaching him a lesson.

In the lens, a Green Mecha labeled number 01, after destroying a red ”Gust” near the church, leveraged a stomp and shot towards Monkey Captain like a bullet.

Monkey Captain, whose hand speed had surpassed forty movements per second, had barely dodged the Bandit Army’s Energy Cannon attack, still shaken. Seeing the Green Mecha pounce, he hurriedly tried to defend. Watching the Mecha’s actions, Sedep could even imagine that lean face becoming ugly and ferocious from the desperate boost in hand speed.

The Green Mecha kicked at the mechanical arm Monkey Captain had lowered, then with a somersault, the Mecha twisted into a bewildering posture in the air and sat on top of the Red Mecha’s head. After uncomfortably twisting its backside, it quickly pounced on another Blood Shadow Mecha.

Sedep dumbly watched Monkey Captain’s Mecha’s head protrude from beneath the butt of that bulky Green Mecha........
