Counterfeit Hero

This is also why Fatty always had a grudge against the Inner River Bridge in Central City. Now, in the S-shaped Inner River winding through the urban area, there are only two bridges left that can accommodate Mecha passage. The wide river surface blocks the Northern Alliance, but it can’t stop us. Is there anything more delightful than this?

Fatty even decided that after the battle, he must come back here to revisit this place and leave his mark on some scenic spot by the river. To give a tribute to this lovely river.

The Mech Knights, who were originally sitting together chatting and waiting for the food to be grilled, all fell silent. Influenced by Fatty, one by one, they eyed the nearly cooked food with envy. It was already evening. The burning campfire illuminated the serious faces and the scarred Mechas behind them, creating a very eerie atmosphere.

”Beep beep!” The communicator on Fatty’s Mecha sounded a call request. Fatty swiftly grabbed a chicken leg, stuffed it into his mouth, and ran off.

Behind him, the Mech Knights seemed to be snatching food, but in fact, they were modestly letting each other have some. Amidst the noise, they wore strange smiles—these spicy grilled meats were specially prepared for Fatty!

It felt like his mouth was on fire, but Fatty—after hearing Markovich’s report—could no longer feel it.

The commotion behind him also quieted down. Everyone heard what Markovich had to say.

The enemy has indiscriminately bombed the center of Puluo Town. Thousands of civilians have already been killed, unable to escape in time.

Under everyone’s gaze, Fatty quickly opened his Mecha, connecting a communicator he tore from the enemy’s Mecha to the line. A few minutes later, he cracked the identification code and sent a communication request to the enemy’s headquarters.

”Chief of Staff!” In the Northern Alliance Command Center, a staff officer suddenly stood up: ”The enemy commander requests to speak with you.”

Supporting himself on the electronic sand table and discussing the battle situation with the staff officers, Feiler was taken aback. He straightened up and turned to look at the staff officer, who seemed confused and a bit at a loss. From the staff officer’s face, he confirmed that this was not a joke.

Feiler slowly fastened the discipline buckle, donned the hat handed to him by his adjutant, and straightened the hem of his uniform. As a strategist, he respected every enemy who could match him in battle. After doing all this, he took large strides to the communication screen at the central control console where the staff officer stood.

On the screen, a tear-streaked Fatty was looking at him earnestly.

”Are you the commander of the Northern Alliance forces, the one who devises all the battle plans?” Fatty, on the screen, had streaks washed across his dirty face by tears and snot, with some unknown substance still clinging to the corner of his mouth.

Despite the dirt on his face, Feiler instantly recognized this man, whose file he had just reread. This was the bandit army’s highest leader, the Leray Hero, Tian Xingjian.

”That’s me! Kevin, Feiler!”

Feiler’s face remained expressionless, showing no disdain, even though the opponent appeared so miserable.

War is a man’s game, a game for the wise. Even a life-and-death rivalry does not affect the subtle respect between two commanders endowed with extraordinary intelligence.

This is a hero cherishing a hero!

”I don’t care who the hell you are!” Fatty wiped his tears, blew his nose, and spat fiercely at Feiler: ”Peh!...You think you’re worthy of playing strategy games with me? Clean your ass and just wait! Bastard!”

The screen flickered, and the image disappeared.

That Fatty, decisively cut off the communication.

Staring at Feiler’s contorted face, the entire command center fell into dead silence.

.Requesting monthly tickets, let’s discuss. If we gain two hundred more monthly tickets, I’ll write an additional three thousand words. Honestly, there’s no backlog of drafts, so if it works out, I’ll have to sacrifice sleep time to make it happen.
