Counterfeit Hero

The Blood Shadow Mecha Group is the most elite and formidable unit among all the combat forces of the Northern Alliance.

It comprises nine armored battalions, with all members selectively recruited from the Northern Alliance’s military organizations. They have combat experience, extensive battle skills, and a fearless fighting spirit, strictly obeying orders. It can be said they are the ace Special Forces of the Northern Alliance.

They are fierce, confident, and look down on all opponents.

In the various battles across Mars, the Blood Shadow Mecha Group participated in eleven of them, confronting the elite forces of the Three Major Schools. No matter how stubborn the enemy, they could not withstand their assault. Their reckless fighting spirit and powerful combat capability made them rise to fame, dubbed the soul of the Northern Alliance!

Yet, this strictly trained army with rich combat experience, newly equipped with the Suss energy weapon system, was astonishingly defeated by the bandit army’s 3rd Group!

Does this mean that the militia that the Leray fatty whimsically cobbled together has turned into a force stronger than the Blood Shadow Mecha Group?!

This is simply incredible!

Su Kezhou stood with his hands behind his back, staring at the electronic map, and asked, ”Do you think the Puluo Town bandit army has a chance to win this battle?”

The officers fell into deep thought. They knew this was the issue Su Kezhou had gathered them to discuss. Although the Longxing Association had not been involved in the Sect War, preparations had long been completed. They hadn’t acted because once the Longxing Association took action, it might provoke premature intervention from the Suss Empire. But now, with the Chuckna Republic launching a large-scale counterattack in the Resk Star System, and the Mars campaign entering the second phase where the Northern Alliance dominates, the Longxing Association no longer needs to remain silent.

It’s only a matter of time before action is taken. What needs to be considered is how to fight, how to leverage this battle between the Northern Alliance and the Puluo Town bandit army, to execute the Longxing Association’s tactical maneuvers and lay the groundwork for subsequent battles.

”Damn it, who told you to self-destruct?”

Fatty cursed at a pile of scorched mecha wreckage while frantically gouging out a large chunk of high-compressed solid energy from a nearby relatively intact mecha, carefully cut it open, and filled the last bit of space in the [Ranger] energy box before he stopped.

Looking up, a group of Green Mechas was clearing the battlefield in a similar fashion. Any mecha that could yield energy blocks was not overlooked. The mechanical commanders and the Mechanical Gods, who once exhibited pride and the aura of masters, now looked more despicable than the thugs who rob beggars... If the energy was insufficient or the mecha’s deformation resulted in more effort to open the energy box, these thugs would kick and stomp viciously in frustration.

Quality! Fatty sneered.

So what if you’ve taken down seven or eight mechas at best considered Seventh Generation? Driving Tenth Generation Mechas, each claiming to be War God Commanders, if they can’t handle even this number of people, the consequence... just thinking about it brought tears to Fatty’s eyes.

The cold wind blew, and he imagined himself stark naked and pale, hanging among books, spinning amidst the enemies’ whips, shouting ’Ouch... Ouch...’

Fatty maliciously stared at the fifty or sixty surviving Northern Alliance Mecha Soldiers gathered nearby, imagining the treatment he might receive, growing angrier the more he thought about it. Those bastards dared to treat him like that, too evil! Should he strike first?

”Colonel, the Super Spearhead Battalion is assembled.”

Weii Jianshan’s voice interrupted Fatty’s continuous, wicked thoughts.

Standing before Fatty, the former civilian Mechanical God who had completely integrated into the bandit army, turned his head to follow Fatty’s flashing gaze towards the street side: ”What should we do with these prisoners of war?”

The fiery Constant Star had fully risen above the horizon. Warm light poured through the remnants of buildings, casting over the various ruins, highlighting this desolate city’s stark coldness. As far as the eye could see, Champs Elysees Street was filled with burning mechas and scattered wreckage.

Prisoners stood dazed at the street edge, their eyes unfocused, unable to comprehend what had happened. The Blood Shadow Fourth Armored Battalion, once dominating Mars Planet with unmatched prowess, had been obliterated just like that?

Prisoners’ eyes moved laboriously, gazing at the fifty Green Mechas before them. They had once thought their army was invincible. But to their shock, one day, they found themselves reduced to the accomplishments of another army, in the most humiliating way, just like the Mixed Army they had once defeated...

The recent battle replayed over and over in the prisoners’ minds... It was mayhem. Under Captain Walker’s command, they desperately charged at the twenty Green Mechas, trying to overwhelm these twenty green dots, but each overwhelming assault saw the Green Mechas unmoved like rocks, while the Red Mecha wave shattered like spray, retreating miserably.

Then, a hoarse voice recited a poem. The Northern Alliance Soldiers didn’t understand the poem’s meaning but felt its bleak grandeur, sensing the Green Mechas’ roar becoming increasingly determined, fervent, and fierce.

It wasn’t a poem; it was a demonic sound that aroused potential!

Their mecha close combat was swift, fierce, bizarre, precise, and lethal. The same move, when they’ve already taken you down, you’re still not done with your maneuver.

Doesn’t that seem terrifying enough?

No! Even more terrifying events unfolded!

Northern Alliance Mecha Soldiers feared no formidable opponent. Initially, they firmly believed these twenty fierce Mechas would be overwhelmed. But, that confidence eventually vanished... They could battle the mightiest warriors but couldn’t defeat the devil!

Looking back now, it was a vivid nightmare!

In battle, Northern Alliance Mecha Soldiers shockingly discovered that every time a comrade seized a chance to strike a fatal blow to these Green Mechas, there would always be a maddening mistake...

The Green Mechas would always shout ”Long live Satan!”

Then, the Red Mecha launching the fatal attack would inexplicably fall or lose accuracy and power. It seemed, indeed, some mysterious and terrifying force was shielding these Green Mechas... That leading Fatty shouted the loudest, from start to finish, continuously screaming, ”Long live Satan, long live Lord Satan, long live Lord Satan,” as if it cost nothing.

That fawning voice made one’s skin crawl. Northern Alliance Mecha Soldiers had no doubt about Fatty’s close ties with Satan!

Once it happened, twice it happened, all the Green Mechas did the same! This mysterious and bizarre force utterly destroyed the Northern Alliance Mecha Soldiers’ confidence. As soon as they heard ”Long live Satan,” they would witness their comrade’s failure or find their own Mecha out of control...
