Counterfeit Hero

Chapter 388: After modification: Volume 5, Chapter 17, Intruder_2

”Bonnie.”

The sound in Bonnie’s ear brought her back to her senses. She turned her head to see the Fatty standing foolishly beside her. With his honest and simple face, his eyes seemed bashfully drooped, as if he didn’t dare to meet her gaze. But Bonnie clearly saw that this guy was sneakily scanning across her chest.

”What are you doing?” Bonnie found herself blushing easily once again. She was puzzled why she lost her resistance, disregarding all men, yet crumbling in front of this lecherous Fatty. As long as his gaze swept across her chest, her heart would start to beat furiously.

This blushing, isn’t it a bit too frequent?

”I’m going out for a while...” the Fatty continued to stare sneakily at Bonnie’s upright chest, heartily praising it. Bonnie had the type of body that was medium build, slender waist, extremely beautiful shoulder blades and collarbones. But what made people angry was that she possessed an incredibly voluptuous chest and hips that contrasted sharply. Coupled with her fair and tender skin, it truly got people worked up.

Before the Fatty finished his words, Bonnie said, ”I’ll go with you.” She didn’t even ask where the Fatty was planning to go.

The Fatty twisted his legs awkwardly, trying hard to make his ”anger” less obvious. With an indisputable demeanor, he outright refused, ”No way!”

What a joke! Before every battle, the Fatty was always in an extremely adrenalized, highly aroused state. If he were to squeeze in with Bonnie, how could they fight this battle? A personal war between the two? Another time to lose one’s senses?

Feeling his tone might be too harsh, the Fatty habitually put on a fawning smile, intending to explain. But to his surprise, Bonnie didn’t resist his decision, just lowered her eyes pitifully, looking like a helpless little deer. Her pearly teeth gently bit her lip, trembling slightly.

”That demon!”

The obedience of Gazalin women is world-famous. The Fatty knew Bonnie’s act had a lot of performance, but he couldn’t help but feel compassion, explaining, ”I’m going to contact the 91th Division and try to avoid conflict with them. The journey is very dangerous...”

Bonnie’s gaze wandered as she murmured, ”So you’re going to leave me alone here?”

The Fatty had never seen a woman like this before and was stunned, blushing and heart racing, mumbling, ”Okay, okay, squeezing one more person won’t matter.”

”I’m coming too.” A crisp voice sounded. The Fatty trembled and didn’t need to look to know, Nia was here. This little witch was tough and even he couldn’t handle her.

Since Miloke’s prisoner rescue mission, Nia had shown her feelings. Plus, the shameless Fatty often took liberties with her, making Nia already see herself as part of the Fatty’s circle. How could she stand seeing a woman she had never met tangled up with Fatty? Most importantly, the beauty and temperament of this woman made Nia feel threatened.

Bonnie looked at Nia with a faint smile, saying, ”I know Kruze, the commander of the 91th Division. Do you know him?”

She walked past Nia saying sweetly, ”We’re going to negotiate, not to make love, sister.”

Nia was momentarily speechless and stomped her foot saying, ”Who’s your sister, Fatty...” She turned her head but the Fatty was already nowhere to be seen.

With that cunning fox’s nature of retreating when the situation is bad, he must have slipped away.

***********

Kruze is forty years old this year, graduated from the Gazalin Army Armor Academy. Tall and straightforward in character, he has some talent in military tactics, adept at strong frontal assaults and often able to achieve results far greater than the losses in pursuit battles.

Among the young talents in Gazalin senior officers, he is relatively older. Yet, his qualifications are not particularly impressive despite his age.

The reason is simple. Three years ago, he was a mid-level officer stuck in the position of camp commander for ten years. He became a camp commander at twenty-seven only because he had accumulated enough merits that the higher-ups couldn’t ignore him anymore. They reluctantly let him lead a second-rate armored camp. With a bit of background, those merits could easily secure a colonel position.

In Gazalin military circles, to rise smoothly besides having enough merits and a strategic vision, one also needs a distinguished family background and solid backing. Kruze had none of these except for his ability to fight. If it weren’t for Gordon’s exception to promote him, he would never dream of being a commander of a first-class armored division for the rest of his life.

Therefore, Kruze was very grateful to Gordon. Before his promotion, he hadn’t even spoken a word to Gordon. He didn’t understand why Gordon promoted him, but he knew that one must repay gratitude. So, when the Gazalin coup occurred and the ousted Gordon sought him, he immediately rallied his troops and carried Gordon’s banner without hesitation.

Now, Kruze faced the most crucial battle in his life: taking down the large logistics base in front!

Attacking this base was essential because compared to Reinhardt and Stephen, Gordon and Hailig’s forces were too weak with just six armored divisions and ten fully mechanized infantry divisions.
