Counterfeit Hero

Chapter 370: Volume 5, Chapter 11 Entanglement_2

”What’s this damn fatty’s hand speed?” Bonnie bit her lip hard, feeling the ground trembling slightly. She glanced into the distance, where the headlights of hundreds of [Vajra] mechas were flickering as they started to speed towards them.

”For fuck’s sake, run!” Fatty yelled in a fluster, catching a glimpse of Bonnie still in a daze.

Hearing Fatty’s shout, Bonnie’s face suddenly flushed. She didn’t even know why, but there was oddly no resistance in her heart against his command. ”Damn Fatty!” She cursed softly in her mind, gritted her teeth, and stomped her foot. The [Vajra] leaped up and darted into the forest.

Watching Bonnie disappear into the forest with his own eyes, Reinhardt felt his teeth almost shatter from gritting so hard. His face turned bright red from holding his breath while being tied down by this fatty.

”Clang clang clang!” Amidst the clash of steel, [Apollo] and [Magic Beast] are in high-speed rotation, exchanging punches and kicks. The crashing sounds of the mecha arms and legs striking each other were like an unending storm.

A truly enraged Reinhardt suddenly increased his hand speed to the limit of fifty-four movements per second. [Apollo] launched a tidal wave of attacks at [Magic Beast]. However, [Magic Beast], despite being clearly at a disadvantage and in a mess, managed to deflect the attacks one by one.

The more Reinhardt fought, the more shocked he felt. The movements of [Magic Beast] before him completely surpassed mechanical control standards. Some of the moves were unreasonable to the point of being unimaginable, yet these actions from [Magic Beast] had an extremely peculiar effectiveness!

Many times, [Magic Beast] would expose huge openings, but when [Apollo] threw a punch or kick to exploit these gaps, they would close up as if by calculation, and those slow-moving mechanical limbs would block the attacks, rendering [Apollo]’s strikes ineffective.

What frustrated Reinhardt the most was the shamelessly stubborn and sleazy attitude exuding from this [Magic Beast].

Be it in attack or defense, this [Magic Beast] would always maneuver close and cling, like a prostitute spotting a wealthy client. Its actions were so lewd and contemptible that it was hard to watch, constantly entangling and refusing to let Reinhardt use his hand speed advantage.

No matter how advantageous [Apollo]’s position was, at critical moments, [Magic Beast] would always evade by rolling and crawling away, only to cling back again like an unshakable vine, driving Reinhardt mad.

[Apollo] dodged aside swiftly, avoiding another clinging embrace from the tattered [Magic Beast], twisted around, and launched a rapid Tornado Kick aiming straight for [Magic Beast]’s back.

[Magic Beast], as if already knowing [Apollo] would pull such a move, dodged low with a forward lunge and, spinning back around, it squatted to grapple at [Apollo]’s legs with clear intent to hug and not let go.

Reinhardt, extremely irritated, laughed. Tangled up by this [Magic Beast], Bonnie had long since vanished, and given Bonnie’s special status in the Mythical Army, he couldn’t kill her in front of all the warriors. This would plunge the already unstable army into greater chaos.

All of this was caused by this annoying and hateful fatty. ”Think you can tangle with me?” Reinhardt smiled. ”I’ll let you tangle all you want!”

[Apollo] leaped up, spun around, and struck a knife-hand chop towards [Magic Beast]’s neck.

Since Bonnie had escaped, her future impact could be dealt with later. For Reinhardt, dealing with the hateful fatty before him was now the most important task. At this point, Reinhardt wasn’t in a rush anymore; in a few minutes, swarming Mythical Soldiers would flood and drown this [Magic Beast] completely.

”I’ll fight you to the death!”

As soon as Reinhardt changed his mind, the always-entangling and relentless [Magic Beast] suddenly shifted in behavior. After ducking under [Apollo]’s knife-hand strike, Fatty’s loud voice roared through the loudspeaker. [Magic Beast] hugged towards [Apollo] with glowing energy cannon on its chest, indicating Fatty’s desperate intent to take down [Apollo] with him!

Reinhardt, shocked, retreated quickly. He didn’t understand why this fatty, whose face always showed indecency, suddenly decided to fight to the death so fiercely. But while he was perplexed, he saw the tattered [Magic Beast] suddenly turn and run away like a bluffing cur, now fifty meters away.

The sight of it fleeing with its tail between its legs showed no real sign of a death wish!

Fooled again! [Apollo] let out an angry roar and sprang into the air, pouncing towards the [Magic Beast], determined to turn this heap of cunning scrap into genuine garbage!

Fatty shivered, allocating nearly all his hand speed to escaping. He had no choice but to run. Not to mention the imminent arrival of numerous Mythical Soldiers, just this bout had left him utterly spent. The Eighteen Arhats Fist, barely countering Reinhardt’s overwhelming hand speed, had reached its limit!

The Arhats Fist is a classic Chinese martial art, emphasizing quick strikes like arrows and soft withdrawals. One successful move leads to a chain of continuous attacks, always engaging the enemy from the side, with the front hand acting like a bow and the rear hand following. This rhythmic series of strikes helps make up for hand speed deficiencies.

Among the Seventy-two Techniques, this martial art was the only one Fatty could use with his current hand speed to contend with Reinhardt.

At first contact, Fatty realized the enormous hand speed gap between himself and this Level 9 warrior! This disparity converted into fighting power by Reinhardt truly instilled terror into him.

It was a suffocating feeling!

[Apollo] never gave him any chance! The battle had been a desperate struggle from his side. If it weren’t for the continuous strikes of the Arhat Fist compensating for his lack of hand speed, and Reinhardt’s unfamiliarity with Mecha Martial Arts, he’d have been crushed into a bloody pulp long ago!

The meticulous and refined mechanical control standards, when wielded by Reinhardt, were as precise as a scalpel. Combined with his genius imagination and extensive combat experience, the fighting maneuvers he created left Fatty with no confidence to continue.

Besides, for Fatty, escaping had always been more important than killing. Running when outmatched had become his instinct.

Osullivan, nearby, saw only a blur as two mechas dashed one after another into the forest.

The mountaintop fell silent.

Osullivan was elated beyond words. He hadn’t expected that through the relentless entanglement caused by [Magic Beast], Reinhardt would forget about him.

He desperately moved his body. Just a few meters ahead was a gentle slope. If he could roll down and find a place to hide, he might still have a chance to survive. Even the bravest person, when regaining control over a life thought lost, would cherish it dearly.

Two meters, one meter. Osullivan crawled laboriously. Upon finally reaching the slope’s edge, he sighed in relief and looked back into the forest where [Apollo] and [Magic Beast] vanished.

What appeared in his vision was a growing sphere of light, crimson like blood.

”Boom!” An energy bullet shot from the forest exploded Osullivan into a shower of blood and flesh.

[Apollo], mid-leap, landed with a flip. A cold smile curled on Reinhardt’s lips. Bringing one who betrayed him down from heaven to hell, he didn’t waste a single moment.
