Chapter 362: After Modification: Volume 5 Chapter 8 Sudden Strange Assault

Mecha fighting has evolved to modern times and has basically reached its operational limits!

Just like the 100-meter sprint in human sports, whether it’s the starting technique, mid-race acceleration, or the final sprint, thousands of years of research have developed these skills to near perfection.

Even the best athletes can hardly make any substantial improvements in this area.

The top 100-meter runners can only perfect these techniques and defeat those who are less perfect.

The same goes for Mecha.

The ultra-sensitive universal control stick and the virtual keyboard that responds at will are the basic components of Mecha commands. Combined with the Mechanical Computer that auto-recognizes commands and corrects operational errors, it truly integrates humans and Mecha together.

Practice has proven this to be the safest and most stable mode of Mecha control.

The once-popular mind control systems aimed to replace this ancient control mode, but were eliminated due to the mental energy consumption that the human brain couldn’t bear and the damage it caused to the brain.

Instead, this classic control system, cultivated unconscious reactions in Mecha warriors, plus computer assistance, proved faster than the mind control systems that extracted and recognized complex thoughts.

Not thinking doesn’t mean you can’t do it. Often, subconscious actions are followed by thoughts catching up slowly.

After long development, humans have selected the most reasonable actions for Mecha control over thousands of years as operational standards. These standards cover every detail of Mecha combat and action, carefully distinguishing even a 0.1-second difference between two operations to guide Mecha warriors in choosing the most reasonable actions.

And the most basic component of Mecha operation technology is hand speed.

When the operational techniques are exactly the same, the strength and speed of Mecha attacks are determined by the hand speed of issuing commands!

An experienced Mecha warrior can simplify certain actions, form their special moves through operational combinations, and make the most correct and rapid responses in the shortest time. However, unless the Mecha itself has an overwhelming advantage over the enemy, no Mecha warrior can defeat an enemy with 40 actions per second with a hand speed of 30 actions per second!

Especially in battles between Level 7 and higher Mecha warriors, victory or defeat often hinges on details that an ordinary person wouldn’t notice. Every second, Mecha are engaged in high-speed, intense confrontation, and hand speed plays a decisive factor in such battles!

Fatty knew how much help the seventy-two moves he chose to practice would provide in Mecha combat; however, he didn’t realize it was not merely helpful but a complete subversion of the flawless Mecha operation standards!

From a technical operation perspective, he had already stood at the pinnacle of all Mecha warriors! This set of Mecha Martial Arts could help him parry or even directly defeat opponents whose absolute hand speed was far higher than his!

On the battlefield, it was still full of artillery fire, and one after another, Mechas were fighting to the death in the dead of night.

However, around the [walker] and [Magic Beast], it was unusually quiet.

Whether [Vajra] or [Hunter], they all avoided this area as if an invisible energy shield isolated everything around, including sound.

The [walker] moved!

Osullivan didn’t believe there was another Level 9 Mecha warrior on this planet besides Reinhardt!

Even if there was, it definitely wouldn’t be that sleazy Fatty!

The [walker] suddenly leaped, like a stone skipping on the water, breaking through the air and pouncing towards the [Magic Beast]. This is an advanced assault technique in Mecha operation—Jumping Through.

Osullivan worked hard on this technique, which was very difficult in front-line Mecha combat. It required not only fast speed, precise ejection points but also an elusive and erratic trajectory. Once deployed, it was easy to break through the enemy’s blockade, whether in close combat or long-range evasion.

Now, to any Mecha warrior, the sight of the [walker] was intensely shocking. Its Jumping Through speed was extremely fast and its route extremely erratic. However, its characteristics were standard and precise!

A textbook-standard, atomic clock-like precision!

Whether it was the form of the Mecha in the air, the speed, or the continuous contraction and extension every second, it gave a sense of artistic enjoyment, making one completely absorbed, subconsciously wanting to learn and mimic it!

And its ever-changing jumping rhythm, the sudden short and long jump arcs, and the precise points of impact, made anyone facing its assault feel a sense of suffocation!

This was an impeccable oppression!

The [walker] shifted from east to west, closing in on the [Magic Beast] at high speed.

It was impossible to determine the point of impact! Fatty’s heart tightened, his left hand pulled the control stick, and the [Magic Beast] could no longer bother to pose. In the roar of the emergency acceleration engine, it stepped back two steps sharply, and then, as if spring-loaded legs, without any visible exertion, it suddenly leaped back like a leaf swept up by the wind.

At the moment the [Magic Beast] just leaped up, the [walker] appeared like a phantom at the exact position where the [Magic Beast] was a second ago. Although the solid iron fist of the left hand struck emptily like an ancient cannonball, its unstoppable force smashing into the ground still made people’s hearts pound.
