Counterfeit Hero

Chapter 354: After modification: Volume 5 Chapter 5 Group Fight Tactics_2

This design once received all kinds of praise from the experts of the Modifying Evaluation Team!

Fatty himself couldn’t stop praising it!

This was based on the completion of the positioning of other components. If the energy converter had to be relocated, the entire Mecha structure would need to be adjusted.

In other words, once Vajra is modified, everything is finalized. Unless this type of Mecha is completely phased out or the extremely expensive cost is taken to refit it, the flaws designed by Fatty can’t be resolved!

It was this flaw that gave Fatty the confidence to attack an entire regiment of the Mythical Army!

Fatty knew Vajra, the Mecha he modified, inside out! In his eyes, these Mythical Soldiers driving modified Vajra were not even as threatening as those who previously drove the Demon Tiger!

The battle swiftly tilted to one side, and the two battalions originally prepared for the assault on the high ground were completely cut off by the bandit army, rendering them unable to organize any effective resistance.

Due to the sudden assault quickly pinning down the flanks of the Mythical Mecha Group, thus forcing Mythical Mecha into a narrow area unable to deploy large-scale firepower, the bandit’s Honor 15 medium-sized Mecha and Anger heavy Mecha’s firepower were maximized, displaying the look of a nouveau riche beating a fallen dog.

Furthermore, the bandit army Mecha’s close combat made the Mythical Soldiers helpless!

In combat with these rogue Mechas, as soon as one was careless, the Mecha would mysteriously lose power and turn into a piece of scrap metal!

The flaw in the Mecha certainly contributed to the severe blows the Mythical Army suffered, but more importantly, this kind of Mecha combat was beyond everyone’s imagination!

When thousands of iron giants, six to twelve meters tall, weighing ten to eighty tons, slaughter each other within a mountain valley just a few square kilometers in size, the shock it provides is something those not witnessing it firsthand could never understand.

This might be the densest combat scene since the Mecha was invented!

The Mechas sprawled across the mountains and plains were like two piles of sesame seeds of varying depths mixed together. Both sides entangled and fought fiercely during their high-speed advancement! Fierce cannon fire erupted intermittently in the forest and on the slopes, scarlet flames, thick black smoke, flickering energy shields, and red energy bullets flying back and forth decorated the entire battlefield spectacularly!

These colors did not represent the vibrant bloom of life during the springtime of the forested mountains but the terrifying destruction among humans!

In these narrow mountains, the bandit army did not use the deep-strike, high-mobility, long-range firepower breakthrough and encirclement tactics of modern Mechas. From a certain angle, their attack was more like a group of ancient ruffians who were good at gang fights, fiercely creating slaughter in chaos! This was already outside the scope of modern Mecha warfare!

Since its advent, Mecha, with its thick armor, high-speed off-road mobility, and powerful long-range attack capability, has been the absolute main force in ground warfare!

Before the energy era, Mecha, like combat aircraft, relied on the SkyNet system for precise strikes beyond the line of sight at any location, and its super-strong camouflage system and terrain adaptation ability made it more concealed and capable of ambush kills than combat aircraft.

With the advent of the energy era, the birth of super alloys, anti-detection interference systems, and energy shields relegated long-range strikes beyond the line of sight to large-scale fire coverage against infantry and non-armored forces. In this context, the Mecha, initially equipped in small numbers, suddenly became the cutting-edge strike force of the ground troops!

In attacks, they relied on powerful firepower and super mobility to break through the front battlefield, penetrate, maneuver, and grind the enemy’s positions. In defense, they covered the fully mechanized infantry or conducted counter-charges and used anti-air capabilities to intercept the enemy’s air strikes. These became the main tasks of Mechas in warfare. With the development of warfare, the number of Mechas equipped also soared to a terrifying level!

It can be said that in modern warfare, Mecha is the absolute dominator of ground warfare! An armored division can face head-on and even annihilate five times its own fully mechanized infantry division! As long as the economy permits, unlimited mechanization has become the main goal of national armaments!

Due to the expensive cost of combat aircraft, and the Mecha’s concealment, mobility, and anti-air capabilities, the only thing that can deal with large-scale Mecha in war seems to be another large-scale Mecha!

Thus, modern warfare gradually became a contest between Mechas. In the battles between Mechas, various advanced weapons and striking methods emerged one after another. The contest between spear and shield has always been the theme of Mecha development.

The Mythical Army had long recognized that close combat had become a killer move for Mechas to suppress Mechas. They had also been striving in this direction. In countless previous battles, they always used their tacit coordination to force close range in the vast battlefield, bit by bit devouring the enemy’s armored units! However, what they did not expect was that close combat had another approach!

These Federation Mechas seemed to have no concept of distance at all. After compressing the two regiments of Mythical Mechas into a narrow area, they didn’t stop there but continually inserted and divided by pouring Mecha squad after Mecha squad into the area!
