Counterfeit Hero

Chapter 383: Revised: Volume 5, Chapter 15, First Attempt at Showing One’s Skill_2

[Magic Beast] stood dumbfounded, as if it had been scared stiff. Bonnie was so anxious that she almost screamed. She wanted to rush out and pull that hateful Fatty away! She hated him, despised him, yet inexplicably didn’t want to see him get hurt!

[Apollo] was about to breach the defensive line. Once an attacking Mecha crossed that line, set differently based on style, speed, and individual skills, no one could dodge the attack—not even a god! Mastering the defensive line was a fundamental skill for every Mechanical Warrior.

However, [Magic Beast] seemed to have forgotten about this life-critical line. Bonnie, despairing, was about to close her eyes. In her view, [Apollo] had already exceeded the limit of her counterattack abilities, and no matter how skilled Fatty was, he could never escape [Apollo]’s attack.

At this point, [Apollo] didn’t need to prepare to change moves or direction. There was no time, and no need. All it had to do was stomp down fiercely.

Just as Bonnie was in despair, [Magic Beast] moved! It moved at the instant when [Apollo] crossed the defensive line set by Bonnie’s level, at the moment when [Apollo] couldn’t change moves! It ghostly stepped to the right, and the Mecha immediately appeared at [Apollo]’s front side.

No one could see how it took that step. Bonnie just felt her eyes blur, and this broken [Magic Beast] was standing there bizarrely, as if it had always been there, never moved!

”Boom!”

In Bonnie’s shock and Reinhardt’s fright, the unstoppable [Apollo] smashed into the ground like a lightning bolt, with a deafening crash, creating a large hole in the ground!

Then, the [Magic Beast] on the side suddenly leaped up, performing a 360-degree mid-air spin, left leg touching down, right leg continuing to sweep in a 540-degree whirlwind kick, hitting [Apollo] hard. With a heart-wrenching clash of steel, [Apollo] was struck and thrown sideways, crashing heavily on the ground and sliding far away.

[Magic Beast] didn’t hesitate for a second, immediately merging with its target and attacking relentlessly. As [Apollo] was just standing up, it was already in front of it, delivering a Double Peak Piercing Ears strike with lightning speed. Though [Apollo] barely blocked it with raised arms, [Magic Beast] then grabbed [Apollo]’s shoulder and slammed a knee into its body. Following up with a sudden step forward, it elbowed [Apollo]’s chest, grabbed its left hand with its right, and connected with an upper step punch...

These rapid attacks were delivered within two seconds, and the broken [Magic Beast] hunched over like a paralyzed baboon, launching seven punches and six kicks. The fierce and aggressive assault left no room for [Apollo] to catch a breath, pounding it relentlessly.

Bonnie’s mouth hung open, her pretty face filled with disbelief, completely dazzled and stunned. Reinhardt, on the other hand, was completely overwhelmed by this brutal beating! Under his control, [Apollo] could only instinctively defend, with no chance to counterattack!

What drove Reinhardt mad was Fatty’s foul mouth. This scoundrel never stopped talking while fighting, ”You little bastard, I told you to come out and find your mom. You talk back when I can’t find her, you dare resist when I hit you, and if I don’t beat you to death today, I’m not your dad!”

”Boom!” With a loud crash, [Apollo] was punched and thrown into the air, staggering back more than ten steps before stabilizing. The external armor on its chest and abdomen had been shattered by [Magic Beast], one of its arms was clearly injured, and it was covered with claw marks, looking utterly pathetic.

Reinhardt’s horror, anger, and humiliation at this moment were indescribable. A prey he had chased like a cat chasing a mouse for three days, fighting over twenty times, driven to a dead end, had miraculously turned around, breaking through the Mythical Guard Camp’s blockade and beating him so miserably!

This was an unprecedented disgrace! Reinhardt couldn’t believe that even if Fatty had suddenly become a Level 9 Warrior, he would still have no chance to fight back! Moreover, he was piloting a Gold Level Ninth Generation Mecha, while the opponent had only a broken Second Generation [Magic Beast]!

How could anyone make sense of this!

Reinhardt quickly reassessed Fatty as a worthy opponent. He was almost certain that Fatty had surpassed fifty movements per second. This might sound incredible, but recalling the recent fight, the facts spoke for themselves.

His inability to defend was entirely due to his own carelessness, granting the opponent the initiative. After all, he had only considered Fatty as an ordinary Mechanical Warrior incapable of reaching the Level 9 Warrior realm. Besides, he had hardly fought with peers of the same level for years, leading to this colossal mistake.

”It seems, I was wrong!” Reinhardt laughed softly. He realized he hadn’t laughed in a long time, and everything seemed so ridiculous: ”I was tricked by you, and I didn’t kill you before you caused massive damage and gained self-protection abilities!”

”Blabbermouth with little knowledge, are we still fighting or not?” Fatty impatiently asked.

Despite his smug appearance of having rightfully won, deep inside he was ecstatic! Beating up Reinhardt was something he had never dared to dream of before, and just a few hours ago, he was still dodging Reinhardt’s pursuit. Now, he had made him look so pathetic!

This was just a preliminary test combining mecha martial arts with ordinary combat. If his hand speed improved, beating Reinhardt would be as easy as beating a kid!

After suffering so much from Reinhardt, being chased frantically and undergoing so much hardship, Fatty was euphoric at the thought of no longer fearing him, even bullying him. He was so delighted that he grinned and scratched his ears, twisting his body ecstatically like a proud little man!

”So...” Reinhardt smiled, ignoring Fatty’s taunts, and said to himself: ”I must correct my mistake. Since I can’t find her now, I just need to act faster when she appears. One energy bullet can turn many things to dust!”

Fatty felt increasingly uncomfortable, suddenly pulled by Little Pi. When he looked at the mecha radar, the Mythical Mecha that had retreated from the valley was now surging back in like a tide.

”Damn it, you’re a cheater!” Fatty roared angrily and charged at Reinhardt.

Seeing the broken [Magic Beast] rushing furiously, Reinhardt took a defensive stance and planned to stall it. But as the charging [Magic Beast] twisted in mid-air, it drew an arc towards the waterfall. In an instant, it gracefully reached into the waterfall, and in an incredible maneuver, instead of descending, it ascended sharply, leaping to the top of the waterfall and speeding away.

Reinhardt’s face changed dramatically in shock. He finally realized that Bonnie was hiding behind the waterfall!
