Counterfeit Hero

Chapter 537: Volume 6, Chapter 27: He Wants to Become a Disciple_2

”He’s here to participate in the academy competition.” Belinda’s expression was somewhat peculiar as she revealed the answer.

”Academy competition? Representing your academy?” Helen asked.

Belinda coughed, extremely embarrassed, and said, ”He’s representing Gallipalan Military Academy to compete with us in Mecha Fighting.”

Helen exaggeratedly touched her forehead and rolled her eyes, ”You guys really are brave. Challenging the Federation Hero who took on four, killed three Legion Commanders of the Mythical Army, and made Reinhardt flee in defeat! Okay, I admit, this news is indeed shocking!”

At this moment, the footage of Fatty fighting the four experts of the Mythical Army had not yet been released. Belinda had never expected to hear such astonishing news from Helen, and immediately widened her beautiful eyes, exclaiming, ”Mythical Army, one versus four? Cousin, are you serious?”

Helen responded irritably, ”Why would I lie to you? This isn’t a secret. The actual footage is in my hands. The broadcast time is set; our program is currently in post-production.”

Belinda was left speechless for a long time. As a soldier, she naturally knew what kind of monster the Mythical Army was. Especially their Legion Commander Reinhardt, who was an insurmountable mountain for the Mecha Warriors of the Leray Federation.

And that messy-haired Fatty actually made Reinhardt flee in defeat in a one-against-four situation! Belinda’s mind went blank; she could no longer maintain normal thinking. This news was simply too shocking. She could already imagine how crazy the Leray Federation would become when this footage aired in ”Hero.”

After the shock, Belinda suddenly felt deflated. She suddenly realized her plans might fall through.

Belinda originally intended to give Helen the footage of two simulated battles she had, showcasing the contest between Tian Xingjian and the Level 3 Mecha Knight Thomas as the highlight. But compared to the footage Helen had, her material seemed insignificant.

The battle with the Mythical Army was a real fight between life and death! In the simulated battle with Thomas, Fatty was practically playing! The most regrettable thing was that the only Level 1 Mecha Knight, Cosmo, surrendered without even participating.

This kind of material seemed difficult to impress Helen with. Requesting Helen to introduce her and Cosmo to Tian Xingjian was naturally out of the question.

Seeing Belinda’s change of expression, Helen suspiciously asked, ”Belinda, where’s the shocking material you’re talking about? Show it.”

Belinda forced a bitter smile and handed the electronic folder to Helen, ”Here, this is the footage of him competing with us!”

”Just this?” Helen said in surprise, ”How could you possibly compete with him at your level? What’s so shocking about this?”

”I thought the footage of the Level 3 Mecha Knight from Free Port competing with him was already shocking enough.” Belinda blushed, murmuring, ”That Level 1 Mecha Knight over there surrendered just by watching and even saluted him. If that’s not shocking, what is! Who knew you had footage of his battle with the Mythical Army!”

”The Level 3 Mecha Knight from Free Port?” Helen suddenly widened her eyes, enthusiastically asking, ”And the Level 1 Mecha Knight surrendered without fighting?”

Belinda nodded and pointed to Cosmo, who was looking hopeful not far away, ”That’s Cosmo. He’s a Level 1 Mecha Knight from the Phantom Stream. I specifically brought him here so you could interview him.”

A satisfied smile appeared on Helen’s beautiful face as she patted Belinda’s arm, ”Good job. You know exactly what our program needs. Although this material isn’t shocking to me, it’s enough for this episode. A Level 1 Mecha Knight is like a god to ordinary people. Once this episode is done and we follow up with the program on the fierce battle with the Mythical Army, wow, the ratings will surely hit a record high!”

Handing the folder to the photographer beside her, she gave a few instructions. With a seductive smile, her crescent-moon-like eyes looked at Belinda, ”Now tell me, what do you want me to agree to? Don’t ask for too much.”

Belinda was overjoyed that the materials she provided were useful. She eagerly clung to Helen’s arm and pleaded, ”Cosmo agreed to the interview on the condition that you introduce him to Tian Xingjian during the interview. He wants to become a disciple! I also want to go along to get an autograph or something.”

”What?” Helen’s eyes widened in surprise, ”A Level 1 Mecha Knight wants to become a disciple?!”

It was no wonder Helen was shocked. In the private mecha sects, due to the complex issues of skill inheritance and power distribution, it was an iron rule never to change one’s master!

If someone formally became a disciple of one sect and then changed to another, they would never rise in the fighting world. The words ’betrayal’ and ’treason’ would be branded on them, and not only would other sects reject them, but changing sects could also lead to deadly wars between the sects.

Even if the new sect was powerful and the original sect couldn’t challenge it, the pursuit of the traitor would be relentless and eternal.

If Cosmo wanted to exchange skills with Tian Xingjian, Helen could understand, but becoming his disciple was too absurd. This taboo was known even to ordinary people, let alone a Level 1 Mecha Knight. How could Cosmo not know this?

What’s happening here?

Seeming to understand Helen’s thoughts, Belinda sighed, ”Cousin, you haven’t seen the competition footage. If you had, you’d understand. Tian Xingjian defeated the Level 3 Mecha Knight from Cosmo’s sect using Phantom Stream techniques.

Cosmo said that such techniques had long been lost in the Phantom Stream. As the future heir, he had never seen them. So, let alone him wanting to become a disciple, even his Level 3 Mecha Commander father would do so without hesitation!”

”Helen, the broadcast van is ready. There are only two interviews left. Please come over!” Helen’s earpiece transmitted the voice of the director.

”Oh my.” Helen finally snapped out of her shock and sighed, ”A Level 3 Mecha Commander wanting to become a disciple—what kind of monster is this Fatty!”
